  • M-ary differential phase shift keying(DPSK)is a bandwidth efficient digital modulation technique and recently has attracted increased attention in mobile satellite communication application where the available radio bandwidth is limited. Coherent detection offers good BER performance in AWGN channel. However, it requires long acquisition times in fading environment. In this paper, we analyze the BER performance of M-ary DPSK signal using the Multiple Differ- ential Feedback Detection(MDFD) technique in Rician fading and shadowed Rician fading channel. MDFD is an efficient scheme to decrease the performance gap between differential and coherent reception by increasing the complexity of the conventional differential receiver to some extent. Compared to the multiple symbol maximum likelihood detection technique, the multiple differential feedback detection technique has a much simpler structure for hardware implementation. Espe- cially, this technique has application to land mobile satellite channel which can vary in time and space between AWGN and rapidly fading channel.

  • We propose a dual-layer differential equal-gain codebook design methodology for LTE-Advanced(LTE-A), IEEE802.ac, and radar system having multiple transmit and receive antennas, and make computer simulations to evaluate its link-level performaces. M-ary phase shift keying constellation is used as its codeword elements to utilize low-cost power amplifiers at mobile stations. Especially, the proposed codebook can meet radar systems requirement for the high-powered equal-gain transmission property. Due to the temporal correlation of the adjacent channel, the proposed differential codebook can quantize only the differential information of the channel instead of the whole channel subspace, which virtually increase the codebook size to realize more accurate quantization of the channel. The proposed codebook has the same properties of LTE codebook that is, constant modulus, complexity reduction, and nested property. Computer simulations show that the proposed codebook performs better than the conventional 8-ary codebooks with the same amount of feedback information.

  • In modern wireless communication, it has been regarded as a important problem for the spectrum efficiency to utilize the limited frequency-resource efficiently. In addition, the system architecture has been designed for low cost, low power consumption and ultra-lightweight. In this paper, we directly modulated the BCPFSK with a superior spectrum efficiency using the DDS and applied the direct conversion to the system architecture. Finally, we designed a transceiver which has the 433 MHz BCPFSK output and evaluated the system performance. In the measured result, we know that as for spectrum and the power efficiency, BCPFSK method is better than conventional one. Also, the results of the designed system is 433.92 MHz in center frequency and about 33 dBc in carrier suppression ratio. And we get the better results in local oscillator leakage and the spurious of the ISM out-band the same as -69dBc and under 60dBc.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a method which can make it possible to stably transmit and receive data like the ARC-164 radio frequency hopping environment as a S/W packet modem with PSK modulation. This is a method that the S/W packet modem with PSK digital modulation and the use of PC sound cards change over from data to voice signals and then transmit/receive data. We confirmed not only that it is possible to solve the slow speed communication with the use of sending data through multi-channels and PSK modulation that has the ability to methodically improve transmission rates, but also that it is possible to send the state of frequency hopping stably. In conclusion, we've confirmed both tactical values that though the transmission rate may be a tad slow, a state of frequency hopping of more than 94% confidence plus voice and data can be sent via radio at the same time. In this paper, the proposed S/W packet modem is only an implemented S/W component, so when we apply it to aircraft that we don't consider EMC problems with, then we have the advantage of a wider use of conventional UHF/VHF/HF radio that is possible to voice communication. If we recognize these operational requirements, we can apply for a lot of field equipment efficiently.

  • In this paper, I analyzed array organization of MIMO channel antenna and effect of operation environment by evaluating average BER from linear Space-Time Block Code orthogonal design and suggests designing condition of MT antenna for improved BER and the fading index m. To analyze system performance, I used M-PSK and M-QAM modulation, and to use analysis equations I used integrated by Nakagami fading variable, non-integrated Nakagami fading variable. We can get the organization of channel array by using mathematical calculation on matrix. STBE BER performance will decrease as AOA spreading decrease and such loss can be compensated from extending antenna spacing, and changing array organization.

  • Currently, the quantize-and-forward (QF) scheme with high order modulation and quantization has rather high complexity and it is thus impractical, especially in multiple relay cooperative communications. To overcome these deficiencies, an improved low complex QF scheme is proposed by the combination of the low order binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation and the 1-bit and 2-bit quantization, respectively. In this scheme, the relay selection is optimized by the best relay position for best bit-error-rate (BER) performance, where the relays are located closely to the destination node. In addition, an optimal power allocation is also suggested on a total power constraint. Finally, the BER and the achievable rate of the low order 1-bit, 2-bit and 3-bit QF schemes are simulated and analyzed. Simulation results indicate that the 3-bit QF scheme has about 1.8~5 dB, 4.5~7.5 dB and 1~2.5 dB performance gains than those of the decode-and-forward (DF), the 1-bit and 2-bit QF schemes, at BER of $10^{-2}$, respectively. For the 2-bit QF, the scheme of the normalized Source-Relay (S-R) distance with 0.9 has about 5dB, 7.5dB, 9dB and 15dB gains than those of the distance with 0.7, 0.5, 0.3 and 0.1, respectively, at BER of $10^{-3}$. In addition, the proposed optimal power allocation saves about 2.5dB much more relay power on an average than that of the fixed power allocation. Therefore, the proposed QF scheme can obtain excellent features, such as good BER performance, low complexity and high power efficiency, which make it much pragmatic in the future cooperative communications.

  • In this paper, we introduce a new method which is available for analyzing the throughput of the packet radio network by using the auxiliary Markov transient matrix with a failure state and a success state. And we consider the effect of symbol error for the network state(X, R) consisted of the number of transmitting PRU X and receiving PRU R. We examine the packet radio network of a continuous time Markov chain model, and the direct sequence binary phase shift keying CDMA radio channel with hard decision Viterbi decoding and bit-by-bit changing spreading code. For the unslotted distributed multi-hop packet radio network, we assume that the packet error due to a symbol error of radio channel has Poisson process, and the time period of an error occurrence is exponentially distributed. Through the throughputs which are found as a function of radio channel parameters, such as the received signal to noise ratio and chips of spreading code per symbol, and of network parameters, such as the number of PRU and offered traffic rate, it is shown that this composite analysis enables us to combine the Markovian packet radio network model with a coded DS/BPSK CDMA radio channel.

  • The error performance of M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK) through m-distribution fading channel in hybrid direct sequence/slow frequency hopped spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SFH-SSMA) systems has been evaluated, and also the error probability has been evaluate when adopting diversity technique and coding technique. From the results, we know that the error performance more deteriorates as depth of fading becomes deeper. In Rayleigh fading environment (m=1), increasing of the number of frequency hopping (q) reduces the effect of multiple access interference, because it decreases the probability a hit. When q is much larger than the number of user (K), the probability of error in high E/N region is dominated by the multipath interference while the multiple access interference is negligible. In lower E/N region, the probability of error is independent of q because the effect of gaussian noise becomes dominat.
