랜덤 치환의 안전성과 통계적 검정 (Statistical Tests for the Random Permutations)

  • 본 논문에서는 n 개의 원소를 임의로 나열하는 대표적인 치환 발생 알고리즘을 소개하고 이들중 발생 치환의 랜덤성이 우수하다고 알려진 Knuth의 알고리즘을 근간으로 설계된 랜덤 치환 발생기의 암호학적 안전성을 분석하고 발생 치환들에 대한 난수 발생 수열 관점의 통계적 임의성과 연속 발생 치환끼리의 통계적 독립성 적용을 위한 통계량 소개 및 각 관점에서 통계적 검정을 통과함을 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 보인다.

라그랑주의 방정식론 (Lagrange and Polynomial Equations)

  • After algebraic expressions for the roots of 3rd and 4th degree polynomial equations were given in the mid 16th century, seeking such a formula for the 5th and greater degree equations had been one main problem for algebraists for almost 200 years. Lagrange made careful and thorough investigation of various solving methods for equations with the purpose of finding a principle which could be applicable to general equations. In the process of doing this, he found a relation between the roots of the original equation and its auxiliary equation using permutations of the roots. Lagrange's ingenious idea of using permutations of roots of the original equation is regarded as the key factor of the Abel's proof of unsolvability by radicals of general 5th degree equations and of Galois' theory as well. This paper intends to examine Lagrange's contribution in the theory of polynomial equations, providing a detailed analysis of various solving methods of Lagrange and others before him.

  • 대칭키 관리 시스템에서 계층적 구조를 지닌 다중 사용자 그룹에 대한 새로운 키관리 방안을 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 의사 랜덤치환에 의해 새성되는 트랩도어 일방향 치환을 이용하며, 구현시 시간과 공간적 측면에서 유리하기 때문에, 완전순서 집합과 부분순서가 있는 집합으로 구성되는 다단계 계층적 구조에 사용 가능하다. 또한, 다른 제안 방식과 비교하여 성능을 분석하고, 제안 방식이 키생성 시간과 키저장 크기에서 보다 효율적인 것을 보인다.

Varying Inocula Permutations (Aspergillus oryzae and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) affect Enzyme Activities and Metabolite Levels in Koji

  • In this study, we investigated the altered enzymatic activities and metabolite profiles of koji fermented using varying permutations of Aspergillus oryzae and/or Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Notably, the protease and ${\beta}$-glucosidase activities were manifold increased in co-inoculated (CO) koji samples (co-inoculation of A. oryzae and B. amyloliquefaciens). Furthermore, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)-based metabolite profiling indicates that levels of amino acids, organic acids, sugars, sugar alcohols, fatty acids, nucleosides, and vitamins were distinctly higher in CO, SA (sequential inoculation of A. oryzae, followed by B. amyloliquefaciens), and SB (sequential inoculation of B. amyloliquefaciens, followed by A. oryzae). The multivariate principal component analysis (PCA) plot based on GC-MS datasets indicated a clustered pattern for MA and MB (koji samples inoculated either with A. oryzae or B. amyloliquefaciens) across PC2 (20.0%). In contrast, the CO, SA, and SB metabolite profiles displayed segregated patterns across PLS1 (22.2%) and PLS2 (21.1%) in the partial least-square discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) model. Intriguingly, the observed disparity in the levels of primary metabolites was engendered largely by higher relative levels of sugars and sugar alcohols in MA, SA, and CO koji samples, which was commensurate with the relative amylase activities in respective samples. Collectively, the present study emphasizes the utility of integrated biochemical and metabolomic approaches for achieving the optimal permutation of fermentative inocula for industrial koji preparation.

블록암호 기반 키유도함수의 증명가능 안전성 (Provable Security of Key Derivation Functions Based on the Block Ciphers)

  • 키유도함수는 고정된 길이의 키로부터 정보보호 알고리즘 수행을 위하여 필요로 하는 다양한 키들을 유도해내는 메커니즘으로 암호시스템의 필수적인 구성요소이다. 본 논문에서는 키유도함수에 대한 최신 연구 동향을 조사 분석하고 증명가능 안전성 관점에서 키유도함수 구조의 견고성에 대하여 논한다. 특히 NIST가 최근 제안한 의사난수함수(PRF) 기반 키유도함수 모드를 블록암호로 대표되는 의사단수치환 (PRP) 기반 키유도함수로 변형 할 경우의 증명 가능 안전성에 초점을 맞추어 Double-Pipeline Iteration 모드의 의사난수성을 규명한다.

MPI-GWAS: a supercomputing-aided permutation approach for genome-wide association studies

  • Permutation testing is a robust and popular approach for significance testing in genomic research that has the advantage of reducing inflated type 1 error rates; however, its computational cost is notorious in genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Here, we developed a supercomputing-aided approach to accelerate the permutation testing for GWAS, based on the message-passing interface (MPI) on parallel computing architecture. Our application, called MPI-GWAS, conducts MPI-based permutation testing using a parallel computing approach with our supercomputing system, Nurion (8,305 compute nodes, and 563,740 central processing units [CPUs]). For 107 permutations of one locus in MPI-GWAS, it was calculated in 600 s using 2,720 CPU cores. For 107 permutations of ~30,000-50,000 loci in over 7,000 subjects, the total elapsed time was ~4 days in the Nurion supercomputer. Thus, MPI-GWAS enables us to feasibly compute the permutation-based GWAS within a reason-able time by harnessing the power of parallel computing resources.

  • S-box의 암호학적 성질이 블록 암호 알고리즘의 안정성을 좌우한다. 여기서 말하는 암호학적 성질이란 선형 공격법에 안전한 높은 비선형성과 입출력 변화공격법에 안전한 입출력 변환의 낮은 균등성을 말한다. 본 논문에서는 갈로아 체의 원시원을 밑으로 하는 멱승 순환 함수를 이용한 S-box의 입출력 변환의 균등성에 관하여 서술한다.

  • In teaching statistics in the secondary school, most math teachers do it and students enjoy it well before 11th grade. But, both of teachers and students feel statistics hard at 11th grade, which has been contained permutations, combinations, random variables, probability distributions, hypotheses and tests for normal distribution. In this study, we explore the efficient teaching methods of statistics for math teachers and also find many students enjoying it.
