The purpose of this descriptive, correlational study was to identify, describe the patterns of nursing unit culture, nursing performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention in the hospital setting, and to analyze the relationships between nursing unit culture, nursing performance, job satisfaction and turnover intention among the characteristic of the subjects The subject consisted of 223 nurses who were employed in medical & surgical units of 3 different University hospitals in Seoul. Data collection was done in November, 1996 by means of questionnaire. The instruments used for this study were the questionnaire based on the Nursing unit cultural assessment tool developed by Coeling(1993), Nursing performance scale used by Yoon(1991), Job satisfaction scale developed by Slavitt, et al.(1978) and Turnover intention scale used by Lee(1995). The data were analyzed by percentage distribution. Pearson correlation coefficient and ANOVA. The summarized results were as follows: 1. There was significant differences in the nursing unit culture between individual cultural behavior and group cultural behavior. 2. There was positive correlation between nursing unit culture, nursing performance and job satisfaction. 3. There was negative correlation between nursing unit culture and turnover intention. 4. There was significant difference in nursing performance efficiency according to the age, educational level, professional carrier in the nursing unit, in the hospital. 5. There was significant difference in turnover intention according to the age, educational level. According to these results, the following implications can be made ; 1. It needs to study on the nursing unit culture in other size hospitals and compare them to these results. 2. It is necessary to assess nursing unit culture and endeaveor good climate for the nursing organizational outcomes and prepare the training course of leadership of nurse manager. 3. In nursing administration, there should be an emphasis on assessment of staff nurses' cultural behavior in case of nurses' orientation, allocation, recruitment, continuning education, so that staff nurses' performance and job satisfaction will be increased and trunover intention will be decreased.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between organizational culture based on the competing values approach, human resource management practices and organizational performance at a hospital. Participants were 138 employee in a general hospital. Data were collected during May, 2003 using four structured instruments. The data were analyzed using Chi-square test, One-way ANOVA, $scheff{\acute{e}}$ test and Cluster analysis. Three clusters were derived from cluster analysis. The first cluster consisted of cultures which were mixed developmental, consensual, hierarchial and rational culture equivalently. The second cluster consisted of the weak cultures, which was lower score than other clusters. The third cluster consisted of strong comprehensive cultures, which had higher score than other clusters. In the three clusters, hierarchial and rational culture were superior. The difference between human resource management practices and organizational commitment in organizational performance according to organizational culture clusters was found to be statistically significant. The cluster which had strong comprehensive cultures, in contrast to other clusters, more significantly affects on human resource management practices and organizational commitment. However, the strength of organizational culture does not have a significant effect on customer oriented service performance in organizational performance. These results showed that types of organizational culture were significantly related to human resource management practices and organizational commitment, and understanding the existing culture is essential to develop the organization of hospitals.
In Bangkok, dental clinics are ubiquitous with high competition in many areas. It was quite difficult for new entries to survive in the market. However, there was an interesting dental clinic that opened in the Asoke area and has more than 4,000 patients within 2 years of opening. The number of employees in this dental clinic was only 20. The purpose of the study was to investigating the corporate culture of this dental clinic and how the corporate culture impacted the company performance. The result of this study showed that this dental clinic had "involvement type" corporate culture. This is another example of a case study about corporate culture and corporate characteristics that motivate employees and ultimately helped organizations maximize their performance. The case study might motivate entrepreneurs to set up the proper corporate culture and help the company to be more sustainable.

The purpose of this study is to define the relationship between ethical management, organizational culture, and management performance in long-term care institutes for the elderly while identifying the level of ethical management, organizational culture, and management performance of caregivers and the impact and mediation of the relationships between them based on the hypothesis. The results show that caregivers in the Gyeonggi region scored 2.929 out of 5 in ethical management, 3.393 in organizational culture, 2.925 in organizational transparency and 3.185 in management performance. The levels of ethical management, organizational culture and management performance in caregivers are lower than those of welfare workers, social workers, and nursing assistants. This is due to their relatively low level of education, wages and working environment. This study determined that there is a significant relationship between variables in terms of correlation between ethical management, management performance, organization transparency, and organizational culture. Second, the authors adopted hypotheses that ethical management has a statistical effect on organizational transparency, management performance, and organization culture. Third, the authors concluded that organizational culture has a direct impact on organization transparency and there is a significant mediation effect between ethical management, organizational transparency, and management performance. Based on these results, we propose the following: First, ethical leadership at the core of ethical management. Second, awareness in organizational transparency. Third, balanced management performance. Fourth, a flexible organizational culture that can respond to ethical management environment must be established.

The study aims to analyze the performance-prove goal orientation and organizational culture on employee work performance of performance appraisal by placing employee work motivation as an interning variable. The study was conducted on a quota sample basis with 134 employees and staff in educational institutions under the auspices of Islamic educational institutions in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. Analysis through structural equation modeling (SEM) was done, and results were obtined which showed that there is an influence of institutional culture on employee motivation and that there is an effect of employee motivation on performance appraisal. However, the statistical output showed that there is no significant effect of performance-prove goal orientation on employee motivation. In testing the mediating effect, the results showed the significant influence of employee motivation in bridging the relationship between organizational culture on performance appraisal, and performance-proven goals and performance appraisal. The theoretical contributions of the findings were in its examination of performance-prove goal orientation with motivational encouragement in educational institutions to analyze the extent to which an individual's self-confidence was able to integrate patterns in distinguishing the approach used, how to use, and the response to a specific situation of directing toward organizational achievement.

Purpose : This research is, by investigating the relations between the cultural types of a nursing organization in a hospital and performance, to ascertain the cultural types to be able to improve performance. Method : The data were gathered from 487 nurses and 328 patients who were in eight general hospitals by using the self-report type of questionnaires. The period of data collection was from August 10, 2000 to September 10, 2000. For this research, the following tools were used; the tools for measuring the organizational characteristics, organizational culture, and job satisfaction, the tool for measuring organizational commitment, and the tool for measuring patients' satisfaction. For data analysis the SPSS Win 7.5 program was used. Result : 1) There was a significant difference in the organizational culture type according to the establishment type of hospital. 2) In the relationship between organization characteristics and organizational culture of a hospital were correlated with the type of each culture(p=0.00). 3) In the relation between the organizational culture type of hospital and its performance, there was a strong positive correlation between innovation-oriented culture and job satisfaction. And relation-oriented culture and task-oriented culture showed that they had a weak positive correlation with job satisfaction(p=0.00). There were a positive correlation between affective commitment and relation-oriented, innovation-oriented cultures(p=0.00), and there were no culture type significantly related to continuance commitment and there was a weak positive correlation among normative commitment and innovation-oriented culture, relation-oriented culture(p=0.00). 4) The types to have an influence upon nurses' job satisfaction were innovation-oriented culture and relation-oriented culture. These had 34.5% of influence with job satisfaction.. The type of organizational culture did not influence continuance commitment, but it had an influence on affective commitment and normative commitment. And relation-oriented culture and innovation-oriented culture had 21% of an influence with affective commitment, and they had 9.5% of an influence with normative commitment. Conclusion : As the above mentioned research results, the organizational culture type was found which had an influence upon nurses' job satisfaction and organizational commitment and patients' satisfaction in nursing service. These results are very significant in having showed the persons in charge of nursing administration a basic data for creation of an effective organizational culture.
In order for a strategy established by a company to be implemented efficiently, it must be supported by an appropriate organizational culture. This means that if a firm has an organizational culture suitable for strategy implementation, performance can be enhanced. This study divides competitive strategy into cost leadership strategy and product differentiation strategy, and organizational culture into hierarchical/rational culture and consensual/development culture. Based on 122 questionnaires collected through KOSPI listed manufacturing companies, the results of the empirical analysis on the effect of suitability between competitive strategy and organizational culture on performance by balanced scorecard perspective are summarized as follows. First, it shows that the cost leadership strategy and the hierarchical/rational culture are more fit. Specifically, The high suitability between the cost leadership strategy and the hierarchical/rational culture has a positive effect on the performance of the balanced scorecard perspective(excluding performance by learning and growth perspective). Second, The high suitability between the product differentiation strategy and the consensual/development culture has a positive effect on the performance of the balanced scorecard perspective. The results of this study suggest that it is important to form a corporate culture that can lead to changes in the beliefs and behaviors of organizational members in accordance with the competitive strategy in order to successfully implement the strategies established by the company.

We study empirically analyzed the final 216 copies of the responses from SME organization members in Seoul and Gyeonggi regions using statistical programs of SPSS24.0 and AMOS 24.0. In other words, the effect of job satisfaction on the organizational culture and job environment characteristics perceived by members of the organization, and the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance is shown as follows. First, the organizational culture of consensus, development, hierarchy, and rationality was statistically significant in job satisfaction. Therefore, the hypothetical one-man organizational culture was adopted by showing a positive (+) effect on job satisfaction. Second, job environment characteristics such as autonomy in job performance, compensation system, physical environment, and human environment had a positive effect on job satisfaction. That is, the job environment characteristics of hypothesis 2 were adopted as a positive (+) influence relationship on organizational satisfaction. Third, job satisfaction was expressed as a positive (+) influence relationship with job performance, so hypothesis 3 was adopted. As a result of this study, the higher the organizational member's perception of organizational culture and job environment characteristics is, the higher the job satisfaction is, and the improvement in job satisfaction is meaningful in that it provides theoretical and practical implications that indicate job performance.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate emergency room nurses' recognition of patient safety culture and their performance of safety management activity. Methods: Data were collected from July 1 to August 31, 2012 on 292 emergency room nurses working at 25 general hospitals located in B city in G province. The Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture was used to measure patient safety culture, and an 82-item questionnaire was developed to measure safety management activity. Results: the performance of safety management activity were significantly associated with the total career years, whether the nurses had undergone safety training, and whether the nurses has been working in the regional emergency care facility. Of 6 subcategories of the patient safety culture, the perception of a directly commanding senior/manager, frequency of accident reports, and hospital environment were associated with the performance of safety management activity. Conclusion: For improving performance of safety management activity among emergency room nurses, it is necessary to develop an educational program of safety management activity by their level of performance.

This study focuses on determining the impacts of organizational culture on the accounting information system and the operational performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. The paper is organized in five parts: introduction, literature review, research methodology, research results, and conclusion and policy implications. Based on the samples of 353 respondents working in small and mediumsized enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, the research employs both qualitative and quantitative methods to find the answers for research questions. Group discussion, which yields final observed variables of the factors of organizational culture is used for qualitative method. Statistics, assessment of the reliability of Cronbach's Alpha scale, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) are used for quantitative procedure. The results show that mission, involvement and inconsistency in organizational culture positively affect the accounting information system of small and medium-sized firms in Vietnam. In addition, mission, involvement, adaptability and consistency in organizational culture are found to have positive impacts on the firm operational performance. Another finding of the study is that the accounting information system has a positive effect on operational performance of small and medium-sized firms in Vietnam.
