The brand equity is defined differently as each view of careers such as consumers, producers, distributors, however, the brand loyalty can be thought to be made from consumers, which means that it can be more reasonable to be looked into as part of consumer rather than financial affairs or account. The brand equity based on the customers' perception can be called the preference that it be made after the presence of brand. The value of the brand that consumers feel emotionally is as important as the value of the brand in the real market. It is possible to increase the brand loyalty in the future by the consumers' inclinable feeling to the brand. This inclinable feeling to the brand can be connected to the purchase, however, it shows that the importance of consumer's emotional attitude to the brand is less considered in the existing studies. This study showed that the brand awareness and the brand experience after using it, the identity as perceived quality, brand personality, consumption emotion, the brand image and how the consumer emotionally feel the brand, the brand loyalty for fashion brand. The purpose of this study was how to build the value of the fashion brand equity after investigating into those factors.

Livestock is considered as one of the most important segments in agriculture since animal husbandry was practiced for centuries as a backyard system by rural families. Livestock plays as a powerful tool in rural development where meat industry contributes a dominant part. Meat and meat products become a vital component in the diet, which had been one of the main protein sources traditionally as well. The development in the livestock and meat industry of Sri Lanka basically depends upon religious, cultural, and economic factors. There is a growing demand for processed meat products in Sri Lankan urban culture and several large scale processors entered the business during the past few decades. The consumption of meat and meat products shows an upward trend in Sri Lanka during the last decade and is anticipated to increase further in future. The growth potential of the local meat industry is considerably high owing to the improvement of the market and consumer perception. The present status, trends, and future prospects for the Sri Lankan meat industry with respect to production, consumption, processing, marketing, and improvement are discussed in this review.
Studies on the risk factors of voice disorders in Korean adults are rare. I evaluated the association between the duration of self-reported voice problem and voice disorders in Korean adults. Data were from the 2008 Korea National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey. Subjects were 3,135 people (1,310 men and 1,825 women) aged 19 years and older. Multi-nominal logistic regression analyses were used to examine the association between the duration of self-reported voice problem and voice disorders. The prevalence of self-reported voice problems was 5.9% among Korean adults. Adjusting for covariates (age, sex, education level, length of employment, tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, thyroid disorders, pain and discomfort during the last two weeks), self-reported voice problems lasting longer than three weeks were independently associated with functional voice disorders (OR=5.30, 95% CI: 3.30-8.50) and organic voice disorders (OR=4.84, 95% CI: 1.82-12.89). Self-reported voice problems in the past three weeks were significantly associated with functional voice disorders (OR=3.64, 95% CI: 1.84-7.19), but not significantly associated with organic voice disorders. Self-reported voice problems are prevalent among adults. This study highlights that self-perception of a voice problem for more than three weeks is related to functional voice disorders and organic voice disorders.
Do animals have a mind? Our understanding about whether animals have minds depends on our relationship with animals, as we cannot determine animals' actual minds. These two studies presented here thus examined the meat paradox, that is, an inconsistency between love for animals and the act of enjoying eating meat in the context of mind perception. Study 1 examined whether mind perceptions toward various animals are classified on the basis of experience-related capacities, such as feeling pain, and agency-related capacities, such as having self-control. In Study 2, mind perceptions toward cows and sexually objectified women were classified on the basis of food condition and non-food condition. In the food condition (experimental condition), cows were portrayed as products for meat consumption, whereas in the control condition, they were described as animals living on a farm, eating grass. The results of Study 2 demonstrated revealed that mind perception was positively associated with how morally incorrect it was to eat animals. Study 2 thus demonstrated that the scores of mind perception toward cows and sexually objectified women in the experimental condition were significantly lower than those in the control condition. These reduced mind attribution in the experimental condition implied that people may be motivated to reduce cognitive dissonance between their attitudes toward animals, such as loving them, and their behaviors, such as, eating meat. In addition, these results suggest that objectification toward animals may impact the objectification and mind perception toward human beings as well. These findings highlight the role of dissonance reduction in the meat paradox and objectification theory so as to understand basic psychological processes involved while making moral choices in everyday life.
In recent years, with the continuous integrative development of e-commerce and social media, social commerce, as a trust-centered social transaction mode, has become an important performance form of e-commerce. The good experience of online community and abundant user-generated content (UGC) attract more and more users and businesses to participate in the community contribution. In this context, the cost of accessing information is continuously decreasing, which not only makes the purchase process more concise and efficient, but also greatly increases the possibility of consumers' impulsive consumption. However, there are very few empirical studies on the internal influencing mechanism of consumers' impulsive consumption based on the characteristics of UGC for social commerce. In view of this, based on S-O-R model, this study constructs a model of consumers' impulsive consumption in the context of social commerce from the characteristics of UGC, with perceived risk as the mediating variable and tie strength as the moderating variable. The results show that content authenticity, content usefulness, and content valence of UGC have significant negative impacts on consumers' risk perception in the process of purchase decision-making, and consumers' perceived risk has a significant negative impact on consumers' impulsive consumption. Meanwhile, the tie strength between UGC producer and UGC receiver plays a moderating role between content usefulness and perceived risk, as well as between perceived risk and impulsive consumption. Finally, combined with the above findings, this study provides effective suggestions for relevant participants in social commerce in terms of business management.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the perception and preference of Kimchi among the elementary school children. The survey was conducted via questionnaire to 439 elementary school children(224 males and 215 females) who lived in Seongnam. 77.2% of the surveyed children had an affirmative opinion of Kimchi intake. Children regarded Kimchi as traditional, nutritious, healthy, fermented and delicious food. It also revealed that the higher grade($4{\sim}6$ grade) students were more awareness in Korean traditional fermented healthy food as for Kimchi than the lower grade($1{\sim}3$ grade) students. They should eat Kimchi mainly because Kimchi is good for health(82.9%), nutritious food(62.9%), our traditional food(58.3%), and delicious food(41.5%). 73.9% of the children responded that the parents influenced on their consumption of Kimchi, but 16.5% of the children answered that their parents did not meddle. 67.3% of the children liked Kimchi, whereas 5.3% of them disliked it. The preference of Kimchi was significantly higher for lower grade students than for higher grade students. The main reason liking Kimchi was hot taste(60.8%) of Kimchi, and then texture of chewing(59.0%), taste of freshness (29.2%), cool taste(28.7%), and peculiar taste(26.9%) of Kimchi in order. The majority reasons for dislike the Kimchi were salty taste, hot taste, not eat oftenly, smell, appearance of Kimchi in order. The hot taste of Kimchi was the number one reason of their diskike of Kimchi, especially for lower grade students and female students, and it was the most important reason for those also like Kimchi. The children preferred the a little hot taste of Kimchi, properly fermented Kimchi, medium amount of seasoning in Kimchi, and any parts of Baechu in Kimchi.
This study was performed to investigate the preference and perception on fruits especially, focusing on apples and pears served in elementary school lunch programs. The subjects of this study were 1,106 students (504 female and 595 male students)from seven elementary schools in Seoul. The survey was conducted by using self-administered questionnaire from July 10 to July 20, 2006. Based on the frequency analysis results, 45% of respondents ate fruits every day and 42% had fruits 2-3 times per week. Approximately, 53% of respondents indicated their usual time to eat fruits was after dinner and secondly 27% had fruits between lunch and dinner. Majority of respondents chose a watermelon as the most preferred fruits and the first chosen among nine fruits (apple, pear, madarin, strawberry, cherry tomato, watermelon, grape, melon, and peach). Cherry tomato was found as the least preferred fruits by 30% of students, however cherry tomato was most frequently offered fruits in elementary school lunch menu. About 50% students were satisfied with the served fruits in their school lunch program. In addition, most students said that they would have fruits more frequently in their lunch menu. However, one fifth of students addressed that they were not satisfied with the fruits in school lunch program because of kinds of fruits, freshness of fruits, taste of fruits, and quantity of fruits. Almost 71% of students preferred apples. Seventy three percents of students preferred eating apples without peel and 78% of students ate apples as slices of apples. In addition, 61% of students indicated their preference of apple salads. Many students responded they did not eat apples and pears frequently since they do not have a chance to eat them. The implications to increase the chance to eat fruits and promote elementary children's fruits consumption were discussed.
Objectives: This study sought to assess the prevalence and duration of weight-control or health functional food use, associated weight-control behavior, perception, and knowledge among university students. Methods: The subjects were 442 university students in Cheonju, Korea, and data was collected by a self-administered questionnaire. Both χ2 and t-tests were conducted for categorical and mean comparisons. Results: An estimated 62.7% (female 69.0%, male 54.8%) had ever attempted weight-control. Among these, an estimated 59.2% of females and 38.9% of males had used weight-control or health functional foods with significant gender difference. The weight-control foods commonly used included chicken breast, protein powder, low-fat milk and soymilk, and meal replacement drinks, while garcinia cambogia extract and green tea extract were frequently used as health functional foods. One of 10 (10.3%) consumers of weight-control foods reported ≥ 7 months use, with less frequent long-term consumption of health functional foods (4.2%). The average degree of satisfaction was 3.24 ± 0.92 for weight-control foods and 2.72 ± 0.97 for health functional foods on a 5-point scale, meaning 'slightly satisfied' and 'slightly dissatisfied', respectively. Females or students with an experience of weight-control reported poorer perceptions of their health and body image as well as a higher need for weight control. Besides, both male and female subjects felt a high need for correct information regarding weight-control methods. Conclusions: Our results provide a better understanding of the characteristics associated with the use of weight-control or health functional foods among university students and will be useful in developing a nutrition education program by incorporating correct body image, knowledge, and practical yet desirable practices for weight control.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: College students are in transition from adolescence to adulthood, and it has been reported that they show poor dietary habits. This study was conducted to compare body image perception, nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, dietary habits, and health-related lifestyles between Korean college students (KCS) and Mongolian college students (MCS). SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were 314 KCS and 280 MCS. The data includes results of self-administered questionnaires; statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 program. RESULTS: With regards to body image perception, KCS perceived themselves to be fatter on current body image than ideal body image compared to MCS; 64.0% of KCS and 34.6% of MCS desired to be thinner. Total score of nutrition knowledge in KCS (17.0) was significantly higher compared to MCS (8.4) (P < 0.001), but total score of dietary attitudes in KCS (27.0) was significantly lower compared to MCS (31.2) (P < 0.001). Nutrition knowledge had a significantly positive correlation with dietary attitudes in MCS (P < 0.01). Meal consumption among male and female subjects was 2 and 3 times, respectively, in order in KCS, and 3 and 2 times, respectively, in order in MCS (P < 0.001). Rate of skipping breakfast in both genders was significantly higher in KCS than in MCS (male: P < 0.05, female: P < 0.001). In health-related lifestyles, KCS had a significantly higher rate in frequency of alcohol drinking (P < 0.001), exercise (P < 0.01), and mobile phone usage (P < 0.001), compared to MCS. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that development of nutrition education program which is effective and proper is required to improve healthy dietary habits among college students of both countries. Essential contents should include acquirement of nutrition knowledge and a motivation for its application to actual life for KCS, and improvement of healthy dietary habits for MCS.

The purpose of this study is surveyed 109 vegan diet practitioners in their 20s or older to inform the need for research and development to include the oral health area in the health trend of vegan. Frequency analysis, X2,and simple linear regression analysis were performed using SPSS. The vegan group, which is fully vegetarian, had a lower risk of subjective dental caries, but the perception of subjective oral health was negative. It was found that vegan dietary habits were believed to be a little more beneficial in terms of oral health, but were perceived as vulnerable in actual oral health. Based on these results, it is believed that it is necessary to develop an oral-nutritional program that reflects a new dietary consumption trend called vegan in the new nomal.
