삼관능 모노머의 종류 및 함량에 따른 자외선 경화형 감압 점착 필름의 특성 (Effects of Tri-functional Monomers on the Properties of UV-curable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSAs))

  • Polybutadiene diol (PBD)과 isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI)의 반응을 통하여 이관능 우레탄 아크릴레이트 올리고머 (PB-UAO)를 합성하고, 여기에 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머 (Tris(2- acryloyloxyethyl) isocyanurate (TAOEIC), 또는 Trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) 또는 Pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA)), 단관능 아크릴레이트 모노머 (Stearyl Acrylate) 그리고 광개시제를 혼합한 후 이형필름 위에 코팅하고 자외선 경화를 통하여 감압 점착 필름을 제조하였다. 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머의 구조 및 함량에 따른 감압 점착제의 박리강도, 인장강도, 신율, 열안정성 및 흡습 특성의 변화를 고찰하였다. 삼관능 아크릴레이트 모노머의 함량이 증가할수록, 그리고 분자량이 작을수록 감압 점착 필름의 박리강도, 연신율 및 흡습율은 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 인장강도 및 열안정성은 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.

Chemical reconstruction of Castor Oil --Research of Environmentally Friendly Lubricants

  • Natural castor oil was chemically reconstructed to extend the carbon chains by means of iso-reaction so as to improve the rheological behavior, by way of increasing the viscosity index and decreasing the pour point. The rheological and tribological characteristics of the reconstructed castor oil were comparatively investigated with those of the natural castor oil and several other vegetable oils and a mineral oil. The friction and wear test results on a four-ball machine indicate that the chemically reconstructed castor oil has considerably improved rheological and tribological properties as compared with the natural castor oil. It shows a greatly increase viscosity index and largely decreased pour point, which makes it applicable to low temperature lubrication. The chemically reconstructed castor oil even shows better tribological behavior than pentaerythritol ester or di-iso-capryl sebacate. However, it is still needed to increase the oxidation stability of the reconstructed castor oil.

아크릴계 점착제의 박리강도와 점착부여제 (Peel Stength of the Acrylic Copolymer and Pressure Sensitive Adhesives)

  • The stability and performance (peel strength) of the acrylic copolymer and various modified rosin systems were investigated. The peel strength was measured over a wide range of scaling rates, and the influence of the viscoelasticity of the PSA(pressure sensitive adhesive) was considered. In the case of miscible systems, the peak of peel strength (PSA performance) over wide peel rates was changed and modified systematically with increasing glass transition temperature of the blends. The peak of the peel strength for blended systems shifts toward the lower rate side as glass transition temperature ($T_g$) of the blend increased. The influence of esterification of the rosin on performance and stability against deterioration was greatly modified by blending with rosin of glycerol ester and rosin pentaerythritol ester. The failure mode of the blend varies with the combination with acrylic copolymer and modified rosin, and cohesive failure was found at a lower peel rate while interfacial failure was found at a high peel rate. A few systems where a single Tg could be measured, despite the fact that two phases were observed microscopically, were detected.

지방산 폴리아미드계 비이온성 내구유연제의 제조와 유연효과에 관한 연구 (Preparation and Softening Effect of Fatty Polyamide Type Nonionic Durable Softer)

  • 1, 3-Di(dodecanoyl)-2, 7-dioxy-6, 8-di(2-hydroxyethyl)-1, 3, 6, 8-tetraazacyclodecane(DDDT) and pentaerythritol monostearate(PMS) were synthesized as a main component for softner. O/W type softner(DPSA) was prepared by blending DDDT and PMS with polyoxyethylene(10) castor oil, polyoxyethylene(20) oleyl ether, and polyoxyethylene(10) monolaurate. After treatment of DPSA to all cotton fabrics, the physical properties such as tear strength, crease recovery, and flexing abrasion resistance were measured. As a result of the measurement, DPSA was proved to be durable softner with good softness.

  • p-Xylene을 용매로 사용하고, 몇 가지 다른 종류의 촉매를 사용하여 직접 축중합에 의해 직쇄형 폴리락트산 합성 실험을 하였다. 그 중 우수한 활성을 보인 촉매는 주석(Tin)계 촉매이었다. 촉매의 양과 용매의 양을 변화시켜 중합반응을 한 결과, 촉매 0.2g (0.5 wt % 모노머), 용매 100 mL 수준에서 보다 높은 분자량의 중합체를 얻을 수 있었으며, 이때 대수점성도 ${\eta}_{inh}$는 0.72 dL/g(중량평균분자량(GPC)=70500)이었다. 직접중합 반응 시스템에서 분자량을 더욱 향상시키기 위해 branching 모노머로서 다가알콜인 dipentaerythritol(dipet) 또는 pentaerythritol(pet)을 소량 도입하여 스타형 폴리락트산을 합성하였으며, 직쇄형에 비해 분자량 분포가 좁고, 향상된 분자량(최고 ${\eta}_{inh}$ = 1.14, ${\bar{Mw}}$ = 143,200)을 얻을 수 있었다. Dipet의 함량이 0.05~0.2 wt %일 때 보다 높은 분자량의 폴리락트산을 얻을 수 있었으며, 얻어진 중합체의 열적성질은 직쇄형에 비해 큰 차이가 없었다. 얻어진 고분자량의 중합체로부터 투명하고 강인한 필름을 성형할 수 있었다.

토너 바인더용 분지화된 탄성 폴리에스테르 공중합체의 합성: 분지제의 영향 (Preparation of Elastic Branched Copolyester for Toner Binder: Effects of Branching Agents)

  • 분지화된 폴리에스테르계 공중합체를 제조하고, 공중합체의 분자량, 용융점도, $T_g$, 1/2 method temperature($T_{1/2}$) 및 레올로지 특성을 고찰하여 레이저 프린터 토너 바인더로의 적용을 검토하였다. 디메틸테레프탈레이트(DMT), 에틸렌글리콜(EG), 2,2-bis(4-(2-hydroxypropoxy)phenyl)propane(HPP)으로 제조한 선형공중합체는 분자량이 낮고, 용융탄성이 낮아 이를 개선하기 위하여 분지제로 3 또는 4 관능기를 가진 2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-ethylpropane-1,3-diol(trimethylol propane, TMP), 2,2-bi(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol(pentaerythritol, PER), 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic anhydride(trimellitic anhydride, TMA), 글리세롤 등을 첨가하여 분지화된 공중합체를 제조하였다. 분지제의 함량과 종류에 따른 열적, 레올로지 특성을 고찰하였다. 분지제의 함량이 15 mol% 이상 첨가한 공중합체는 $140^{\circ}C$ 정도의$T_{1/2}$ 값을 가지고, 높은 분자량과 용융탄성을 나타내어 토너를 융착 인쇄하는 레이저 프린터의 핫멜트 토너로서 적당하였다.

  • The rheological properties and surface tensions of polymer solutions and polymer-surfactant mixed solutions were investigated. The polymers used in this study were a homopolymer of acrylic acid crosslinked with an allyl ether of pentaerythritol, an allyl ether of sucrose, or an allyl ether of propylene (CARBOMER), acylate/C10-30 alkyl acylate crosspolymer (AAAC), and ammonium acryloydimethyltaurate/VP copolymer (ADTV). A solubilizing agent PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil (HCO-40) and an emulsifying agent polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monostearate (POLYSORBATE 60) made the micelles intervening between AAAC polymers, resulting in the increase of viscosity. However, HCO-40 made this behavior over the wider range of surfactant concentration than POLYSORBATE 60. From the view point of surface tensions in the same range of surfactant concentration, AAAC/HCO-40 solution showed the area of increasing surface tension with surfactant concentration in contrast to the AAAC/POLYSORBATE 60 solution showing no increasing area.

Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Eight Common Chemical Explosives Using Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer

  • Eight representative explosives (ammonium perchlorate (AP), ammonium nitrate (AN), trinitrotoluene (TNT), 2,4-dinitrotoluene (DNT), cyclonite (RDX), cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX), pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), and hexanitrostilbene (HNS)) were comprehensively analyzed with an ion trap mass spectrometer in negative ion mode using direct infusion electrospray ionization. MS/MS experiments were performed to generate fragment ions from the major parent ion of each explosive. Explosives in salt forms such as AP or AN provided cluster parent ions with their own anions. Explosives with an aromatic ring were observed as either $[M-H]^-$ for TNT and DNT or $[M]^{{\cdot}-}$ for HNS, while explosives without an aromatic ring such as RDX, HMX, and PETN were detected as an adduct ion with a formate anion, i.e., $[M+HCOO]^-$. These findings provide a guideline for the rapid and accurate detection of explosives once portable MS instruments become more readily available.

Permanent Press 가공용 실리콘 유연제의 합성과 그의 특성화 (Synthesis of Silicone Softner for Permanent Press Finish and Its Characterization)

  • Silicone softner(SSN-3) for permanent press(PP) finish was prepared by blending beef tallow hardened oil for Improving softness, water, the emulsion, which was synthesized from pentaerythritol monostearate as a softening component and silicone oil KF-96 as a lubricating component. The prepared SSN-3 and the PP finishing resin were applied to PP finishing cotton broad cloth and P/C gingham samples using one bath method. The properties such as crease recovery, tear strength, bending resistance test were tested. The samples treated with SSN-3 and PP finishing resin have improved properties, compared with nontreated samples, those treated only with PP finishing resin, those treated with commercial PP finishing softners and PP finishing resin. Also from the bending resistance test, the two kinds of fabric samples treated with SSN-3 of 3% showed grade 5 and these were good enough in feeling.

Chemical Modification of Isotactic Polypropylene by Melt Blending

  • The branched polypropylene (b-PP) was prepared by melt blending process with initiator, antioxidant, and functional monomers to improve the melt strength through the melt grafting. The melt flow index (MFI) of the b-PP was increased with increasing the initiator content. On the introduction of the alkylamine as the branching agents the MFI of the b-PP was increased, while that of the b-PP with the pentaerythritol triacrylate (PT) was decreased. It may be caused by the chain scission of the i-PP backbone due to the reduced thermal stability of the i-PP on the melt blending. The MFI of the b-PP without the antioxidant was increased due to the chain scission occurred during the melt processing, while on the introduction of the antioxidant, the MFI of the b-PP was decreased. The crystallization temperature of the b-PP was higher than that of PP, which was attributed to the branched chain structure. It was found that the PT was the most effective functional monomers for enhancing the melt properties of the b-PP.
