건물 옥상에 설치되는 옥상 간판의 피크풍압 분포에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Distribution of the Peak Wind Pressure for Rooftop Signboards)

  • Unlike other types of outdoor advertisements, rooftop signboards are installed on the roofs of buildings, rather than on their outer walls. This means that the area of a rooftop signboard is commonly larger than that of a general outdoor signboard. Moreover, as such signboards are greatly influenced by the wind, they can suffer a lot of damage from typhoons and strong winds every year. However, there is no wind load specification for rooftop signboards. In this study, wind pressure experiments were conducted to investigate the peak wind pressure on each side of rooftop signboards installed on the roofs of 5-15 story buildings in a city center. The minimum peak wind pressure coefficient was -3.0 at the bottom edges of the front and back of the rooftop signboards and -2.0 along the entire length of the sides. As the height of the rooftop signboard increased with the increasing height of the buildings, the peak value was found to be larger than the absolute peak value for the minimum peak wind pressure coefficient. The maximum and minimum peak wind pressure distributions of the rooftop outdoor signboards were influenced by the position of the signboard and the wind angle.

  • The determination of feasible design flood is the most important to control flood damage in river management. Model parameters should be calibrated using observed discharge but due to deficiency of observed data the parameters have been adopted by engineer's empirical sense. Storage coefficient in the Clark unit hydrograph method mainly affects magnitude of peak flood. This study is to estimate the storage coefficients based on the observed rainfall-runoff events at the four stage stations in the Hantan river basin. Model calibration is the process of adjusting model parameter values until model results match historical data. An objective function which is the percent difference between the observed and computed peak flows is available for measuring the goodness-of-fit between computed and observed hydrographs. By sensitivity analysis for the storage coefficient, it has been shown that the storage coefficients affect the peak flows. The Clark parameters adopted in the River Rectification Basic Plan have been estimated through an iterative process designed to produce a hydrograph with the peak flow.

Dependence of solar proton peak flux on 3-dimensional CME parameter

  • In the present study, we examine the dependence of solar proton peak flux at SOHO and STEREO on 3-D CME parameters (radial speed, angular width, and longitudinal angular separation between its source region and the magnetic footpoints of spacecraft). For this we consider 38 proton enhancements of 16 SEP events observed by SOHO, STEREO-A, and/or B from 2010 August to 2013 June. As a result, we find that the enhancements are strongly dependent on these three parameters. The correlation coefficient between proton peak flux and CME speed is about 0.42 for the cases the footpoints are located inside the lateral boundaries of angular widths, while there is no correlation for the events outside the boundaries. The correlation coefficient between peak flux and angular separation is -0.51. We find that most of strong proton events occur when their angular separations are closer to zero, supporting that most of the proton fluxes are generated near the CME noses rather than their flanks.

Load Resistance Influence of Magnetoelectric Characteristics on NiZnFe2O4+PZT Composites for Magnetoelectric Sensors

  • The influences of the load resistance $R_L$ on the magnetoelectric (ME) characteristics of $NiZnFe_2O_4+PZT$ composite were investigated in the non-resonance frequency range. The ME coefficient peak increases with increasing $R_L$, but the frequency indicating the ME coefficient peak decreases with increasing $R_L$. The maximum output power peak is approximately $9.3{\times}10^{-10}mW/Oe$ near $R_L=3.3M{\Omega}$ at f=280 Hz, and the ME coefficient seems to be saturated at $R_L>20M{\Omega}$. This frequency shift effect of $R_L$ shows that the frequency range for an ME sensor application can be modulated with the appropriate value of $R_L$. The ME output voltage has a good linear response to the ac field Hac and shows fair stability over a range of temperatures. The measured non-linearity of this sample is approximately 0.8%. This sample will allow for a low-strength magnetic ac-field sensor. The result from this sample will serve as basic data for a signal-processing circuit system.

한반도 영향 태풍의 경로 유형에 따른 섬진강댐 유역의 수문변동 특성분석 (Hydrologic variability in the Sumjin river dam basin according to typhoon genesis pattern)

  • 본 연구에서는 한반도의 대표적인 다목적 댐인 섬진강댐을 대상으로 한반도에 영향을 미치는 태풍과 태풍의 발생에 따른 유출특성변화를 분석하였다. 태풍영향 도메인을 적용하여 태풍의 이동 경로를 유형화하고 태풍유량을 정량화하고, 태풍정보와 대상유역의 수문변화지표의 순위분석과 상관분석을 통하여 기후변화의 적응과 대책수립에 대한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 한반도 태풍도메인을 통과한 한반도 영향 태풍(n)은 첨두유량의 규모와 발생시기의 변화에는 많은 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 첨두유량의 발생빈도와 지속시간은 한반도 영향 태풍과 상대적으로 관계가 적은 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 변화는 상관성 분석결과에서도 확인할 수 있었다. 첨두유량의 발생규모(correlation coefficient = 0.41)와 첨두발생시간(correlation coefficient = 0.83)은 한반도 영향 태풍(n)과 양의 상관관계가 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 섬진강 댐을 대상으로 한반도 영향 태풍의 경로를 유형화하고, 각 태풍 유형에 따라 섬진강 댐 유역의 수문변동에 대한 특성을 분석하였다. 이는 한반도 수생태계환경 시스템 변화에 대한 대응방안의 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

Study on the Synthesis of Wool-blending Fiber Bundle and New Signs of the Curve

  • In this paper, a hand-operating method (tiled test method) of the wool-blending sample is made out, and make use of the method, the test of wool-blending bundle in different blending ratio is accomplished. According to the test data, the synthesis method of the stretch curve is worked out and the synthesis software for the typical stretch curve of wool-blending bundle is designed. Through laboratory hand-operating method, the blending fasciculus applying to fiber bundle test can be obtained in a short time. Calculation for sampling is accomplished in the article. We bring up 9 new signs to describe the characteristics of the curve behind peak for the first time: elongation behind peak (HE), elongation percentage behind peak (HEP), relative elongation rate behind peak (RHE), total break work $(W_a)$, break work behind peak (HW), break work coefficient behind peak (HWC), elongation percentage of half-load behind peak (HEL), load percentage of half-elongation behind peak (HLE), break efficiency behind peak (HEC).

  • The practice of business estimate flood discharge by rainfall-flow relation that is easy collection of observation data. The important factor is rainfall, coefficient of runoff, and drainage area for analysis of runoff-flow relation.The practice of business usually use probability rainfall that use a weighted average value after each observation post estimate probability of non-same time. It has more error than same time probability rainfall, and it can excess of estimation because it can't consider space distribution of rainfall.The study of result showed similar aspect with existing ARF but width of coefficient become smaller. And the comparison of peak flow did not different what used by ARF and same time probability rainfall(A group). But non-same time probability rainfall is bigger 25% more than another(B group). Between A group and B group of the difference increased with the lapse of time.

도시하수도망에 대한 유출모형의 남용과 유출해석 (Runoff Analysis and Application of Runoff Model of Urban Storm Drainage Network)

  • This research is to show the application of runoff model and runoff analysis of urban storm drainage network. the runoff models that were used for this research were RRL, ILLUDAS, and SWMM applicative object basin were Geucknak-chun and Sangmu drainage basin located in Seo-Gu, Kwangju. The runoff analysis employed the design storm that distributed the rainfall intensity according to the return period after the huff's method. The result from the comparative analysis of the three runoff models was as follows The difference of peak runoff by return period was 20-30% at Sangmu drainage area of $3.17 Km^2$, while less than 10% at Geucknak-chun drainage area of $12.7 Km^2$. The peak runoff were similar to all models. At the runoff hydrograph the times between rising and descending points were in the sequence of RRL, ILLUDAS and SWMM, but the peak times were similar to all models. The conveyance coefficient to examine the conveyance of the existing drainage network was 0.94-1.37, which means insecure, in Geucknak-chun drainage basin and 0.69-1.16, which means secure, in sangmu drainage basin.

Numerical optimization of Wells turbine for wave energy extraction

  • The present work focuses multi-objective optimization of blade sweep for a Wells turbine. The blade-sweep parameters at the mid and the tip sections are selected as design variables. The peak-torque coefficient and the corresponding efficiency are the objective functions, which are maximized. The numerical analysis has been carried out by solving 3D RANS equations based on k-w SST turbulence model. Nine design points are selected within a design space and the simulations are run. Based on the computational results, surrogate-based weighted average models are constructed and the population based multi-objective evolutionary algorithm gave Pareto optimal solutions. The peak-torque coefficient and the corresponding efficiency are enhanced, and the results are analysed using CFD simulations. Two extreme designs in the Pareto solutions show that the peak-torque-coefficient is increased by 28.28% and the corresponding efficiency is decreased by 13.5%. A detailed flow analysis shows the separation phenomena change the turbine performance.
