Purpose : This study explores the effects of dental hygiene students' ethical propensity and self-esteem on their awareness of protecting patient medical information and how these factors interact to influence their professional ethical consciousness. The aim of this study is to highlight the role of university education in shaping the ethical values of dental hygienists. Methods : Between June 1 and November 30, 2023, 210 dental hygiene students in Busan Metropolitan City participated in this study. After providing consent, the participants completed a self-administered questionnaire comprising 69 questions. The questions covered general characteristics (8 questions), ethical propensity (20 questions), self-esteem (10 questions), and awareness of patient medical information protection (31 questions), all measured on a five-point Likert scale. Results : Correlation analysis indicated that idealism had a significant positive correlation with relativism (r=0.35, p<.001), self-esteem (r=0.28, p<.001), and awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.46, p<.001). Relativism had a significant positive correlation with self-esteem (r=0.17, p<0.05) and awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.23, p<.01). Self-esteem had a significant positive correlation with awareness of patient medical information protection (r=0.34, p<.001). Multilinear regression analysis revealed that idealism (ß=0.38) and self-esteem (ß=0.22) significantly increased the level of awareness of patient medical information protection. However, relativism did not have a significant impact on the level of awareness of patient medical information protection. The model explained 26.0 % of the variance (24.9 % when corrected). Conclusion : Higher levels of idealism and self-esteem correlate with greater awareness of patient medical information protection. In addition to appropriate program development and strategies, university curricula for dental hygiene students should include systematic and continuous training to enhance the values of ethical awareness, idealism, and self-esteem.

Purpose: This study sought to analyze perceptions and attitudes regarding patient personal information protection according to the general characteristics of paramedic students and their clinical practice experience. Methods: A total of 215 paramedic students from G university in I metropolitan city and D university in G do were surveyed. Frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and one-way distribution analysis were conducted using the software SPSS version 23.0. Results: First, recognition regarding the operation of laws and systems related to medical law and personal information protection was high among students who had no clinical practice experience, and there were no differences with regard to students' general characteristics. Second, the level of recognition regarding patient personal information protection and exposure did not differ depending on students' general characteristics and clinical practice experience. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, students' recognition and attitude should be improved by carrying out continuous education on patient personal information protection. Furthermore, more specialized and systematic training related to patient personal information protection should be conducted to nurture appropriately trained paramedic students.

The purpose of this study is to find out the most successful way for the protection of medical information focusing on the electronic medical record(EMR). In this study, every aspect of the EMR is reviewed in terms of the hospital management. In particular, definitions, major functions, strengths and weaknesses of the EMR are considered. This study also examines the general development of the EMR as well as the current situation of applying the EMR. Important issues such as the protection of patient Medical information, informed consent, and the customer-oriented hospital information system are discussed and interpreted in light of the introduction of the EMR into the area of the hospital management. This study discusses the direction of legislation to strengthen the legal protection of medical records privacy in information age. The legislation trends on privacy protection of medical records in European Union and United States are analysed and the current law and regulation of Korea on medical records are compared. The issues discussed include the ownership of medical records, the patient's right of access to medical records, medical information publication for other than treatment or insurance processing use, confidentiality responsibility of provider organizations, medical information management in provider organizations, penalty for the unlawful use of patient information. This study concludes that the patients' right on medical record and provider organization's responsibility in processing patient information should be strengthened in order to protect patients' privacy and to conform to the international standard on medical record protection in the information age.

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to examine the correlation and influencing factors among ethics position, self-esteem, and perception of patient medical information protection in the dental hygiene students. Methods: This is a cross sectional study using the structured questionnaire. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 202 dental hygiene students using the stratified sampling method from September 1 to November 1, 2013. The questionnaire was modified and complemented from Ethics Position Questionnaire (EPQ). The questionnaire included EPQ, self-esteem, and perception of patient medical information protection. Data were analyzed by independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple comparison analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0 program. Results: There was a positive correlation among all the variable including idealism position, self-esteem, and perception of patient medical information protection, The factors influencing on the perception of patient medical information protection were idealism position (${\beta}=0.271$, p<0.001) and self-esteem (${\beta}=0.248$, p<0.001). The corrected explanation power of the model was 15.1%. Conclusions: As the idealism position and self-esteem become higher, the perception of patient medical information protection gets higher. Therefore, this study suggests that it is needed to develop and vitalize implement the appropriate programs enhancing ethics consciousness, proper position, and self-esteem in the dental hygiene students receiving the education for their professionalism in the dental hygiene curricula.

과거 종이로 기록되던 환자의 의료정보는 점점 현대과학의 눈부신 진화와 발전으로 현재는 종이를 대신하는 전자적 시스템인 전자의무기록시스템 형태로 발전되었다. 또한 병원에서 활용되는 모든 의료정보들이 전자적시스템을 이용하여 활용되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 그러나 과학기술의 발전과 더불어 의료정보의 피해 사례는 계속 증가할 것으로 보인다. 보험사기 예방을 위해 의료정보를 공유해야한다는 보험단체들의 주장, 개인정보를 얻기 위해 금전적 불법거래가 성행되고 있다는 뉴스 등을 접할때면 의료정보 보호에 관한 대책 마련이 절실함을 의미한다. 따라서 의료정보와 관련된 유출상의 문제점을 정확히 파악하는 것은 의료정보 유출의 부작용을 예방하고 의료정보 보호와 미비점을 보완하는 선결과제인 것이다. 따라서 현재의 의료법 및 개인정보보호법제만으로는 의료정보의 표준화와 의료정보보호 등을 규율할 수 없고, 의료정보에서 발생되는 여러 문제들을 보호하기에는 미흡하다고 판단된다. 따라서 본 논문은 미흡한 의료정보관련 법제의 연구를 위한 선결 과제로 의료정보의 유출로 발생될 수 있는 문제점을 파악하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다고 판단되며, 이에 의료정보의 유출로 인한 문제점을 파악하고 의료정보를 보호할 수 있는 입법방안을 중심으로 연구하고자 한다.

본 연구는 보건의료정보관리 전공자들의 환자 개인정보보호에 대한 인식 수준을 파악하여 그 중요성을 올바르게 인지할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위해 실시하였다. 연구방법은 부산시 소재 4년제 대학 4개교의 보건의료정보관리 전공 대학생 458명을 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였다. 분석은 기술통계, t-test 및 ANOVA, Chi-square, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 개인정보보호제도에 대한 인식은 68.8%로 높은 수준을 보였다. 의료기관 내 환자 개인정보보호에 대한 지식 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 고학년, 개인정보보호법에 대한 인지도, 전공과목을 통한 교육 여부로 나타났다. 따라서 개인정보보호에 대한 교육은 전공과목을 통해서 학습하는 것이 필요하며, 의료기관에서 실제로 업무에 적용하고 있는 환자 '개인정보보호 가이드라인' 등을 숙지할 수 있는 체계적인 교육이 필요할 것이다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the patient's perception of the nurse's behavior in protecting patient privacy and to make suggestions for medical facilities to increase protection of patient privacy. Method: The research was a survey study The data on protection of privacy in primary nursing, for physical privacy, of patient information and in private conversations were collected in October 2005 from 187 patients in a university hospital. Frequencies, means, t-test, ANOVA, and $x^2$-test were used to analyze the data. The SPSS 13.0 for Windows program was used. Results: The mean score for patients' perception of nurse protection of their privacy was 3.33. There were significant differences in perception of protecting patients' privacy according to gender for private conversation, according to level of education for all but physical nursing and for number of admissions for total score and for primary nursing. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest the following: a) Institutional polices and nursing guideline should be clearly stated as to the nurses' duty to protect patient privacy. b) Medical facilities should be arranged in a way that allows for the protection of patients' medical information, and should focus on patient privacy. c) It is necessary of nurses to receive periodic in-service education on protecting patient privacy.

Purpose: This research aims to find out clinical information protection behavior within a medical institution in mandatory circumstance based on health psychology theories Methods: This research has developed the survey based on the variables from ealth psychology theories; and conducted the survey during the whole month in April 2013. In the end, 256 samples have been used for this research's analysis. Results: First of all, Empirical results has proved that perceived benefits, self-efficacy, and cues to action have an positive influence on clinical information protection behavior. Perceived barriers has an negative influence. Finally, it has proven from the research that perceived severity and perceived susceptibility do not have an impact on clinical inf ormation protection behavior Conclusion: These findings provide an enriched understanding about medical institution workers information protection behavior on patient's clinical information.

본 연구는 환자의료정보 보호에 대한 의료기관 종사자들의 인식도 및 실천도의 관계를 규명하여 의료 기관의 의료정보 보호의 정책 수립에 기초자료를 제시하고자 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 연구기간 및 대상은 2019년 6월 17일부터 8월 16일까지 전라남·북도에 소재하고 있는 의료 기관 종사자 200명을 대상으로 하였다. 설문지조사는 연구자가 직접 조사 대상에게 연구 목적을 설명하고, 설문지를 배포한 후 회수하였다. 환자의료정보 직접 접촉영역 측정도구는 총 5문항, 환자의료정보 관리영역은 총 14문항, 의사소통영역은 총 8문항이었다. 연구결과, 의료기관 종사자의 영역별 환자 의료정보 보호에 대한 인식도와 실천도는 의사소통 영역이 가장 높았고, 다음으로 환자 의료정보 관리영역 의료 정보 직접접촉 영역 순이었다. 환자의료정보 보호에 대한 인식도과 실천에 관련이 있었던 변수는 의료기관 유형, 직무만족도, 종교, 근무부서와 유의한 관련이 있었다. 환자의료정보관리 영역에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 환자의료정보 직접 접촉영역과 의사소통영역을 독립변인으로 환자의료정보관리 영역을 종속변인으로 하여 다중 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 환자의료정보 직접 접촉 영역과 의사소통영역이 높을수록 환자의료정보관리 영역이 높아짐을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 의료기관 종사자들의 의료 정보 보안 및 보호 행위에 대한 인식수준을 높일 수 있도록 직종별, 직무별 교육프로그램을 개발하여 내부감사 형태의 주기적인 모니터링과 함께 지속적인 교육을 실행하여 환자 의료정보 침해 환경으로부터 환자를 보호하고 피해를 최소화 할 수 있도록 노력해야 할 것이다.
