  • We design a multi-element photo-detector to measure the size of particles using the diffracted light energy distribution. The scattered profile measured by the photodetector is sampled by a 32 channel analog-to-digital converter. A nonnegative least squares analysis translates the light energy distribution into the corresponding unique particle size distribution. The responses of the particle sizing system are studied theoretically and experimentally.

  • Superconducting thick films were fabricated with various paticle sizes on Allumina substrates by MPMG method. The sample of about 63${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in this experimented the size of particles was the best for uniformity and the number of Y211. In this experiment It is observed that powder size is very important to fabricate the superior thick finns.

비타민 B1 유도체 Thiamine Dilauryl Sulfate의 나노 입자 제조를 통한 수용액의 용해도에 따른 항진균 활성 평가 (Effect of Solubility of Thiamine Dilauryl Sulfate Solution through the Manufacture of the Nano Paticles on Antifungal Activity)

  • Conventional Thiamine Dilauryl Sulfate (TDS) powder has a low stability. In order to solve this problem, this study was performed to improve the solubility of TDS. The process for enhance solubility of TDS was nano grinding mill and ultrasonic dispersion process. TDS paticle was manufactured to nano size through nano grinding mill process. The size of TDS nanoparticle was measured as average 220 nm by DLS. And The TDS nanoparticle in water solution manufactured through ultrasonic dispersion process. The TDS nanoparticle in water solution was showed the highest solubility with 40% ethanol. These results was increased the concentration of TDS from 200 ppm to 240 ppm in water solution. The TDS nanoparticle in water solution showed diameter of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides growth with smaller than about 1.56 cm compared to the TDS paticle in water solution at same concentration. Also, TDS nanoparticle in water solution showed growth inhibition activity as 59.2% with higher than about 10% compared to the TDS paticle water solution in same concentration. Finally, TDS nanoparticle in water solution was increased solubility through nano grinding mill and ultrasonic dispersion process. Also, the increase of concentration in TDS nanopaticle in water solution according to solubility enhancement lead to an result enhancement of antifungal activity. Consequently, we suggested that the TDS nanoparticle in water solution was more effective than TDS particle in water solution owing to the sub-cellular particle size, ability to persistence and targeting to cell membrane of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Furthermore we expected the applicating possibility with bio pesticide.

공심법에 의한 $BaTiO_3$ 분말제조 (Preparation of $BaTiO_3$ Powder by Coprecipitation Method)

  • $BaTiO_3$ ceramics powder was prepared by coprecipitation method either in oxalic acid solution or in potassium hydroxide solution. Thermal decomposition of coprecipitated $BaTiO(C_2O_4)_2$.$4H_2O$ powder in oxalic acid solution was investigated by means of Themogravimetry Differential Thermal Analysis and X-ray Diffraction Analysis. Low temperature decomposition of coprecipitated $BaTiO(C_2O_4)_2$.$4H_2O$ caused narrow particle size distribution whereas high temperature decomposition caused fairly wide particle size distribution by partial sintering. As the reaction time increased the average particle size of coprecipitated $BaTiO_3$ powder in KOH solution was increased. The most narrow paticle size distribution was obtained when the coprecipi-tates were ripened for 4hrs.

자기 Tape의 전자 변환 특성에 대한 자성분의 Size와 그 특성의 영향 (The Influence of Magnetic Particle Size and Its Properties on The Electromagnetic Particle in Magnetic Tape)

  • 도포형 자기기록매체에 있어서 자성분의 size와 특성이 자기기록 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기위하여 size가 다른 각각의 자성분으로 만든 도료를 이용하여 자기 tape를 제조하고 자성분의 분산성 및 전자 변환 특성을 측정하였다. 자성분의 분산성은 입자 size의 영향보다 입자의 형태 및 자성분의 표면화학특성에 크게 의존하며 자성분의 입자 size가 작아질 수록 자성분의 충진성은 향상 되고 tape의 remanence 특성과 출력 특성 및 noise 특성이 향상되어 고출력, 저 noise의 넓은 dynamic range의 출력이 나타남을 확인하였다. 따라서 고출력의 자기 tape를 제조하기 위하여는 자성분의 size, 형상, 표면화학 특성 및 자기특성이 자성분 선정의 중요한 요건임을 확인하였다.

Study on nanoemulsion using various lecithins and oils

  • Nanoemulsions have many specific characters compared with general emulsions in aspect of stability, rheological property, uniformity, high interfacial tension and so on. Therefore we study on nanoemulsions with changing various lecithins and oils using microfluidizer. As lecithins, we used saturated lecithin, unsaturated lecithin and hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine. Caprylic capric triglyceride, Squalane, Macadamia nut oil, Liquid paraffins, Dimethicone, and Cyclomethicone were used as oils. To identify nanoemulsions, we measured paticle size, zeta potential, turbidity and transmission electron microscope.

역마이셀에 의한 TiO(OH)$_2$ 미세분말 제조 (Formation of TiO(OH)$_2$ Ultrafine Particles by Reverse Micelle)

  • 유기용메인 이소옥탄(isooctane)에 계면활성제를 이용하여 물을 역마이셀 형태로 생성시킨 후, 이소프로필 알코올(isopropyle alcohol)에 묽힌 티타늄알코옥사이드(tetraisopropyl orthotitanate)를 가하여 가수분해 반응를 거쳐 TiO(OH)2 분말을 제조하였다. 역마이셀에 의한 TiO(OH)2 분말 제조에 미치는 공정변수들인 계면활성제의 종류, 농도, 보조계면활성제, 가수분해 반응온도, pH등이 생성된 입자의 크기, 모양, 입도분포에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다. 비이온계활성제인 Span 80을 사용하였을 경우에는 Span 80의 농도변화, 가수분해 반응온도 변화, pH변화에 무관하게 입도분포가 uninodal형태였으나, 음이온계면활성제인 Aerosol-OT(AOT)를 사용하였을 경우, binodal형태를 나타내었다. 에타올(ethanol)을 cosurfactant로 첨가한 계(AOT, 1.0CMC, isooctane+ethanol, pH2.5, 30$^{\circ}C$)로 부터 생성된 입자는 평균입경이 0.12${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ 으로서 미세할 뿐아니라 입도분포도 매우 좁은 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서, cosurfactant의 유무가 생성 입자의 입도분포에 큰 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. FT-IR 분석으로 T1-O 결합과 Ti-OH 결합에 의한 흡수피크를 확인하였고, TGA-DTA 분석결과에 의하면 41$0^{\circ}C$ 부근의 발열피크로 부터 비정질 구조에서 anatase 구조로 결정화가 시작됨을 알 수 있었으며, 온도 상승과 더불어 결정이 성장하여 약 45$0^{\circ}C$ 정도에서 비정질상이 anatase상의 결정구조로 완전히 전이됨을 확인하였다.

수용액상에서 부유 미립자의 표면전위와 응집특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the surface charge and coagulation characteristics of suspended particles in the aqueous phase)

  • This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between theoretical parameters affecting the coagulation process and the real coagulation phenomenon applied to the dye wastewater. Emphasis was placed on the effective removal of the suspend particulates. Parameters studied in this study are pH, coagulant concentration and surface potential. Optimal dosages of coagulants by the measurement of the zeta potential at lower then $25^{\circ}C$ are 5\times$10^P-3}$ M of $FeCl_3 and 1.4\times10^{-6}M of Fe_2(SO_4)_3$. The results were well agreeded with the separate Jar-test results. Emphasis was also placed on the relationship between water quality and the content of SS. It was found that the COD and DOC were reduced to 65% and 85%, respectively. The turbidity at the above condition was reduced from 300 NTU to 0~1 NTU. Efforts were made to clarify the behavior of the suspend solid as affecting the water quality. 12,000~13,000 particles/10mL in $1~50\mu$m size range particulates in the raw wastewater were reduced to 300 particle/10mL in the same range after treatment. This research has proposed the methodology to find out the optimal condition of coagulation for small scale wastewater treatment plant or chemical coagulation process.

치아 연마용 인산일수소칼슘의 합성 및 물리화학적 성질 (Synthesis and Physico-Chemical Properties of Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate for Dental Abrasive)

  • Dental abrasive, dicalcium phosphate dehydrate (DCPD) was prepared and the several important factors affecting on the quality of toothpaste were investigated by means of set test, glycerine absorption, Coulter counter test, color difference, BET adsorption, mercury porosimetery, and rheogram comparing with two foreign DCPDs, MFO4 and Dentphos K. Sample DCPD was prepared by reaction between 85% H$_{3}$PO$_{4}$ and 15% milk of lime at $39^{\circ}C$ (pH6.5), and stabilized with TSPP and TMP. The physicochemical properties of Sample DCPD were obtained as follows: whiteness (98.99), average particle size (15.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$), pH (7.9), remainder particle weight (0.49w/w%), glycerine absorption value (64 ml), and set test (passed). N$_{2}$ adsorption curves (BET) of three kinds of DCPD showed non-porous type III isotherm. BET adsorption parameters of sample DCPD showed that surface area was 24.9 m$^{2}$/g, total pore volume 0.09 cm$^{3}$/g and average pore radius 72.0 $\AA$. The rheogram of the toothpaste containing each DCPD showed bulged plastic flow with yield vlaue and thixotropic behavior. These results meet standard requirements as abrasive standard, and suggested that synthesized sample DCPD could be used a dental abrasive such as a high quality grade in practice as foreign DCPDs.

천연가스 공급기지내 가스필터 성능개선에 관한 연구 (Study on improvement of efficiency of gas filter at the natural gas valve station)

  • 천연가스 공급배관내의 이물질을 제거하기 위하여 한국가스공사에서는 현재 250um 공극 크기를 갖는 금속 스트레이너형의 필터를 사용하고 있다. 하지만 배관내의 이물질 크기를 조사한 결과 필터 공극 크기보다 작은 이물질이 상당량 있는 것으로 파악되었으며. 따라서 이들 이물질로 인하여 필터 후단부의 각종 밸브류나 계 량 측정 기기들에 악영향을 미치고 있는 실정이다. 미세한 크기의 이물질들을 없애기 위해서는 필터의 공극 크기를 줄여야 하는데. 이 경우에는 필터 전, 후단의 차압발생으로 인하여 원하는 유량의 가스를 공급하기 어려운 일이 생길 수 있으므로 차압발생을 신중히 고려하여 필터 공극 크기를 결정하여야한다. 본 연구에서는 손실계수 K를 이용하여 가스필터의 성능평가 방법을 제시하였다.
