참여 중심 어린이 교통안전교육 프로그램 효과 평가 (The Effectiveness of a Participatory Road Traffic Safety Education Program for the Elementary School Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose was to evaluate the effectiveness of participatory road safety education program for the lower grade in elementary schools. This program was developed based on the Activated Health Education model. Methods: Study design was compromise experimental group pre-post design. 456 students in 8 schools were nonrandomly assigned to study group(n=224) or control(n=232). The students finished self-administered questionnaire before and after education. Collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS. Results: 1. The common relevant factors in road safety knowledge and attitude were 'residential state' and 'experience of traffic accident'. 2. The knowledge showed that the case and control scored at 6.48 and 6.41 points before. After this intervention, the case and control scored at 8.38 and 6.51. The difference of the case was significant(p<0.001). 3. The attitude showed that the case and control scored at 19.67 and 19.63 before. After this, the case and control scored at 19.86 and 19.63. The difference of the case was significant(p<0.05). Conclusion: In order to implement the road safety education, children's socio-demographic characteristics were considered. Because this education was effective in both improving knowledge and attitude and bringing interest, various participatory program will be applied in road safety education for children.

RP-ISD모델을 활용한 참여적 패션디자인 교육프로그램 개발 (Participatory Fashion Design Education Program based on RP-ISD Model)

  • This study aimed to develop an education program for fashion design that can deliver knowledge and techniques to enhance the capability of participatory fashion designers. The framework for education program was established based on the RP (Rapid Prototype) model, and the developing process of education program was structured and systemized. As a result, this study proposed the circulated RP-ISD model, which is designed to revise and complement the educational objectives, strategy and evaluation tool by iterative prototype, and purposed to be consistent in carrying out the instructional systems design. Furthermore, the systematic developing process and the assessment criteria of design education program for ten weeks was proposed. This result could be used as a base study of participatory fashion design and contribute to systemization of education programs in design field. Furthermore, it could foster the possibility of an alternative education model in fashion design.

사용자참여 디자인을 통한 열린 놀이터 만들기 - 서울 삼양초등학교 옥외공간을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Planning of Outdoor Playground Space Open to the Community through the Participatory Design Method)

  • This paper is to propose a design possibility that incorporates participatory process and also to emphasize the participatory process applied to the planning of outdoor playground space open to the neighboring community. Community design based on the participation method can be understood as an attitude about a force for change in the creation and management of environments for people who are the major users of them. Planning for outdoor space is an integral part of school education and a vital component of child development. For the design of outdoor space of Samyang Elementary School it first needs to examine the current and emerging needs of students, teachers and parents as community residents through the participatory design method. A series of workshops and interviews are taken to identify dreams and ideal spaces of each group. An assessment of existing school spaces and design possibility of reprogrammed outdoor spaces are proposed to match the major demands of participants. Selected outdoor places are chosen and designed to accommodate options for various play settings and to make the school pleasant places where members of the neighborhood can gather for relaxation in restful surroundings.

역할극의 참여방식에 따른 한의대생의 의사소통 및 진료기술 수준에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Level of Communication and Clinical Skills of Korean Medical Students by the Participatory Method of Role Playing)

  • Objectives: This purpose of this study was to examine the level of communication and clinical skills of Korean medical students according to the participatory method of role playing during medical education. Methods: A total of 100 fourth grade students from the Korean Medical College of Dongshin University in 2018 and 2019 were divided into two groups: Role players and scenario writers. After performing their role-playing, they were asked to complete questionnaires regarding two categories-communication and clinical skills-, consisting of 10 items. Results: 1. Communication skills were measured at approximately 80% of the expected level, and the level difference was shown in detail. 2. Clinical skills were measured at approximately 75% of the expected level, and the level difference was shown in detail. 3. The level of communication skills and the level of clinical skills according to the participatory method did not differ significantly. Conclusions: Writing scenarios in role playing can be observed as having the same effect on communication and clinical skill levels as acting.

로컬리티 아카이브로서 참여형 노동 아카이브 개발 모형 설계 (Designing a Model for Developing Participatory Labor Archives as Locality Archives)

  • 이 연구는 로컬리티 아카이브의 한 유형으로 참여형 노동 아카이브 개발 모형을 원칙적인 측면에서 제안하기 위해 진행되었다. 이를 위해, 우선 문헌 연구와 전문가 면담을 진행하면서 노동 아카이브 구축에 있어 참여 기능의 필요성과 그 가능성을 검토하였으며, 특히 산업 노동 아카이브를 중심으로 참여 대상과 참여 유형 등을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 국내외 노동 아카이브 운영 사례를 통해 각각의 참여 방식을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석에 근거하여, 지역 산업과 연관된 참여형 노동 아카이브를 개발하기 위한 원칙과 절차와 함께, 절차의 각 단계별 참여 방식을 제안하였다.

Effects of Participatory Design on the Development of Space Concept in Young Children

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of participatory design workshops conducted to design forest play spaces that reflect young children's needs and demands on the development of spatial concepts in young children. As a research method for this purpose, we used the participatory design workshop (6 times) and Landscape Montage Techniques (LMT). We conducted this study at the "Songsan-mulbit Forest Experience Center for children (FECC)" located in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, from the second week of May to third week of June 2018 for preschoolers in K-kindergarten (six and seven-year-old integrated classes; 41 preschoolers in total). We conducted the LMT evaluation on the same preschoolers before and after the workshop, and the drawings of 39 preschoolers drawn for LMT evaluation before and after the workshop were subject to the final evaluation. As a result of the study, the cognitive levels for the spatial concept after the workshop are higher than those for the spatial concept before the workshop, especially showed the result of comparing the LMT values of 6 age and 7 age, there were significant differences on pre and post workshop in p<0.01.

Exploration of High School Science Teachers' Perceptions on Instruction and Assessment of Science II Elective Courses in the 2015 Revised Curriculum

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the status of the field application of the Science II career electives with the application of the 2015 revised curriculum up to the 3rd year of high school. This study focused on examining high school science teachers' perceptions of the student-participatory class and process-centered assessment in Science II subjects, which are career-intensive high school science electives. A total of 192 science teachers responded to the survey questionnaire, and 12 teachers participated in interviews. In the in-depth interviews conducted to supplement the survey results, questions were asked about changes in the overall class, the status of student-participatory classes, and changes in the assessment of Science II subjects due to the emphasis on process-centered assessment. The main research results included teachers' perceptions of changes in teaching and assessment methods with the application of the revised curriculum, the degree to which the eight skills used in Science II classes develop the key competencies of science, and the teaching and assessment methods commonly used in Science II classes. Science teachers generally agreed with the purpose and necessity of introducing student-participatory classes and process-centered assessment, which are the core purpose of the 2015 revised curriculum. However, they had difficulties in practice due to the excessive content of Science II subjects. Problems were also encountered with securing objectivity and fairness during assessments and the operation of online science classes due to COVID-19.

농업인을 위한 학습자 참여형 안전보건 교육 프로그램 설계 (A Study on Developing the Participatory Educational Program of Agricultural Safety and Health for Farmers)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a participatory education program of farmer's safety and health. After investigating the concept and status of agricultural safety and health to identify the problem of farmer's safety and health, we made the model in 3 steps, consist of analysis, design, and development, based on the instructional system design and the participatory instructional method. We also applied the participatory instructional method to the program to facilitate a change in practice by making farmers understand the contents. The findings of this study revealed the followings: 1) we developed the education program focused on characteristics of farmers as learners; 2) the education program was developed based on the model for developing education programs and the specific procedures that we made up; 3) we designed the program in modules to increase the availability; 4) we raised the content validity of the learning contents in the safety and health education program targeting farmers; 5) manuals and supplementaries for teachers were developed from learner's textbooks.

건강증진교육을 위한 K-WIFY 모형의 적용 (Assessment of the Health Promotion Education Effectiveness through K-WIFY Model)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of K-WIFY model that was a participatory health education program. Based on WIFY, this study developed K-WIFY that was only focused on health related issues rather than all broad ranges of life issues. This study evaluated changes in health related recognition, self-efficacy, self-esteem, social support, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and situational barriers of the subjects after participating the program. Methods: During from March 16 to April 1, 2004, 216 study subjects of university students were subjected to a quantitative survey and 187 subjects of the total subjects were exposed to qualitative survey. Results: The results were as follows: 1. Health related perceptions were statistically different after taking participatory a health education program using K-WIFY. The amount of improvement was 6.36. 2. After participatory health promotion education using K-WIFY, self-efficacy(p=.029), self-esteem(p=.019) and perceived benefits(p=.031) were statistically higher than before. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study verified the effectiveness of participatory health education promotion using K-WIFY. We recommend K-WIFY to national and regional health promotion plans and health promotion education for university students.

능동적 참여 모의실험 학습용 ALT 보드 및 소프트웨어 모듈 설계 (ALT Board and Software Module Design for Active Participatory Simulation Learning)

  • 본 논문에서는 ALT 보드와 NetLogo 확장 모듈을 개발하여 능동적 참여 모의실험 (Active Participatory Simulation: APS) 학습이 가능하도록 한다. 기존 참여 모의실험 학습에서도 실험이 수행되는 동안 학생들은 HubNet을 통하여 클라이언트로서 실험에 참여할 수 있다. 하지만 HubNet 서버만이 하나의 외부 모듈과 연결되기 때문에 다수의 클라이언트가 참여하는 이중초점 모델링 기반 학습이 불가능하다. 따라서 클라이언트의 참여와 실험 및 측정 데이터를 수집하기 위하여 ATmega32 기반의 ALT 보드를 개발한다. 또한 이 입력된 데이터를 HubNet 서버와 교환할 수 있는 TCP/IP 소켓 기반 Java 확장 모듈을 개발한다. ALT 보드와 확장 모듈을 통하여 APS 학습 환경 구축이 가능하다. 이를 위한 NetLogo 프로그래밍 방법을 소개하고 학습 예시를 보여 과학교육에 활용될 수 있는 방안을 모색한다.
