  • The purpose of this study was to examine violence response, burnout, and job satisfaction according to violent episodes of emergency room workers. Methods : This Study was a descriptive survey design using convenience sampling. This study was exempt from needing an IRB approval. There were 167 emergency room workers, who agreed to participate in this study, and took a self-report questionnaire between July and August 2015. SPSS 21.0 version was used for descriptive analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1) 84.4% of participant experienced violent episodes. The frequency of verbal violence was highest. Violent attackers were patients and guardians with drunken state. The time of violence episodes was usually during the night. Violent experience of doctors and nurses was very high. 2) There were significant differences in the emotional response according to violent episodes (t=2.528, p=0.12) 3) The correlation between \response and burnout was statistically significant, and indicates a high positive correlation (r=.616, p=<.001). The correlation between violence response and job satisfaction was statistically significant, indicating a negative correlation (r=-.512, p=<.001). There was a negative correlation between burnout and job satisfaction with statistical significance (r=-.568, p=<.001). 4) Significant factors influencing job satisfaction were emotional response to violence and burnout. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide basic information for the strategies of preventing violence, decreasing burnout, and improving job satisfaction by developing a violence management program.

  • Advances in information and communication technology have introduced self-service technologies (SSTs) to service companies, changing the way they serve. In addition, as SSTs are expanding for low cost and high efficiency, opportunities for technology to interact with consumers have increased. Restaurant managers have the advantage of the SSTs win-win strategy, which allows consumers to freely receive the products or services they want, but some consumers have low satisfaction of the SSTs, especially elder people and the blind. This study examines the effect of unmanned order payment technology on service quality evaluation. For this, we interviewed a total of 12 consumers in their 10s to 50s with the experiences of using unmanned order payment technology, applying the Grounded Theory Method(GTM). Through a review of the research participant interview materials, totally 84 concepts were derived and the concepts were analyzed to derive 15 subcategories and 10 upper categories. Finally, a paradigm model of the effect of unmanned order payment technology on service quality assessment was derived. It also found the importance of consumers' sense of obligation to use unmanned order payment technology, recognition of advantages (e.g., time savings), recognition of shadow labor, and recognition of whether the technology usage process is in the service quality assessment stage.

A self-filled questionnaire was surveyed on self-sufficiency participants in five Borough and Country in Ulsan for 4 weeks from September 1 to 30, 2020, and final 233 copies were used in the actual analysis. As a result of the study, first, the percentage of positive responses of the participants was found to be good at 71.7%, for questions on the degree of support to the government, local governments, and administrative welfare centers. Second, in response to a system or service that would like to be supported or needed in the future, support for living expenses and support for health and medical expenses appeared and as a result of gender difference analysis, it was confirmed that there was a significant difference between support for children's education expenses and support for housing funds. Among the factors of the participant's psychological self-reliance(self-control, confidence, and willingness to work), the factor of self-control was the most significant factor, followed by confidence and willingness to work. • Recently emotional relationships between industrial products and user experience are getting more attention than ever. However, current user interface design has focused just on the mechanical and logical aspects. This research proposed a new approach to improve user's emotional experience to interface design and introduced storytelling as a new possibility. Four types of user interface - logical interface, picture added interface, storytelling-applied interface, and storytelling-applied interface with a story script - were used for this research. Eighty college students participated in this research. Each participant was randomly assigned to one of four types of user interfaces. Additionally, their individual differences in affect intensity were measured. he results show that users reported more emotional experience in the storytelling-applied interface and storytelling-applied interface with a story script than the logical interface and just picture added interface. The results also suggest that the higher satisfaction was experienced for the storytelling-applied interface. And all those results are differentiated by the users' affect intensity. The users who have higher affect intensity expressed heavier emotional experience and deeper satisfaction for the storytelling-applied interface.

  • Purpose: Due to the stringency of regulations related to clinical research, researchers face various requirements in the Institutional Review Board (IRB) review process. Specifically, they encounter time constraints and administrative burdens. In order to cultivate a more favorable review culture and establish a robust research environment, it is necessary to analyze researchers' perceptions of the IRB review. Therefore, this study aims to assess researchers' overall experiences with the IRB and identify researchers' educational needs and demands for research-related policies. Methods: A semistructured questionnaire with 34 items was developed and refined in consultation with advisors from IRB and Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). The questionnaire was distributed via an online survey to researchers with experience in IRB review. The survey covered general characteristics, satisfaction with the IRB review process (rated on a 10-point scale), experiences with IRB review, HRPP policy demands. Results: The study's descriptive statistics revealed a moderate satisfaction level (average rating, 6.75 out of 10) with the IRB review. Researchers from clinical medicine and other disciplines showed similar satisfaction scores of 6.65 and 6.87, respectively. However, respondents with over 5 years of research experience expressed higher satisfaction (mean score, 7.03) compared to those with less experience (mean score, 6.57). Institutional support was emphasized for improving the IRB review process. Certain training topics generated higher demands for addressing frequently raised IRB issues among minor discipline researchers compared to clinical medicine (p=0.017). Conclusion: We conducted an analysis of researchers' perceptions regarding the IRB as well as their demands concerning educational and HRPP policies. It is imperative to address the pinpointed areas for enhancement and integrate a range of perspectives in order to effectively cultivate a robust research ethics culture and ensure comprehensive participant protection.

One important aspect of the Korean Medicine health promotion program for children is to bring awareness of health benefits of introducing Korean Medicine methods to young children and to promote incorporating such methods in children's daily activities to develop healthy habits. Methods: The following experiment was conducted for 6 weeks, and the participants were in the age between 2 to 6 years old from 6 child care centers in Wonju and Chungju. 268 participants were in the intervention group, and 277 in the control group. To measure the outcomes of the Children Korean Medicine health program, the intervention group received Korean Medicine prevention programs (children education, parent education, growth exercises, common cold prevention scarf, and pear herb tea), control group did not. This research collected and compared the following data as the children's health indicators to measure the outcomes before and after the program: medical services usage, the number of absences, early leaves, and tardiness to the child care centers due to the participant's health condition. Results: After applying the children's health promotion programs on children between the age of 2-6, there was a decrease in the overall medical services usage, absences, early leaves, and tardiness to the child care center. This health promotion program was purely based on Korean medical theories and Korean Medicine resources without any conventional medical mediation. Conclusions: It can be concluded that a positive change was noted in raising awareness of Korean Medicine through educating both the parents and children. By learning to incorporate Korean Medicine prevention practices to daily habits, not only was there a reduction in the Medical services usage, but the children also became familiar and comfortable with Korean Medicine and its treatment procedures; the overall satisfaction level of the program was also high.
