  • With the advancement of Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology, fabrication of dentures using this technology has gained popularity. As one of CAD-CAM technologies, digital complete denture system has been introduced, which fabricates complete dentures using subtractive manufacturing of monolithic block containing both the color of a denture base and an artificial tooth. In this case, two pairs of upper and lower dentures were fabricated for two patients. Two pairs of complete dentures were fabricated for a 74-year-old male and a 73-year-old female respectively by conventional denture fabrication method and digital method of milling. To obtain a digital complete denture, monolithic block (Ivotion, Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein) was chosen for the materials to fabricate the digital complete dentures. An individual tray was designed using CAD software and manufactured by 3D printing technique. The final impression and interocclusal relationship were recorded using the fabricated individual tray. The final impression was scanned, and the complete denture design and try-in denture were 3D printed using CAD-CAM software. Subsequently, the monolithic block was milled, and the final dentures were fabricated and tried on patients. Previously mentioned two patient cases compared and analyzed stability, fit, speaking, mastication, aesthetics, and patient satisfaction of two pairs of dentures: one fabricated using CAD-CAM system and the other using traditional methods. This was performed to evaluate and report the findings from both denture-making approaches.

  • This study applied virtual reality systems for forest therapy to reduce motion sickness and enhance immersion using multi-sensory elements. In applying virtual reality systems, multi-sensory elements were utilized to reduce motion sickness while providing a more immersive experience. Among these elements, tactile and olfactory devices utilizing wind and scent were developed and employed. The program was developed using Unity3D's HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline), and both HMD (Head Mounted Display) and non-HMD systems were established to determine if visual motion induces motion sickness. An air circulator was placed to provide a sense of wind and allow users to smell scents through the olfactory device. An experiment was designed to examine whether tactile and olfactory stimuli influence user satisfaction with the virtual reality forest therapy system. The results showed that the tactile device significantly reduced motion sickness, while the developed olfactory device did not yield significant results in reducing motion sickness for participants.

  • The patient in this case presented with a desire to have new dentures due to discomfort with existing ones. At the initial visit, all of teeth were missing except for the mandibular left second molar. As the patient was 65 years old, treatment with dentures and implant-supported prostheses was possible under the national health insurance system, and the patient opted for the mandibular denture using implant. Temporary prostheses were initially provided for patient adaptation, and following successful adaptation period, the treatment progressed. A maxillary complete denture and a mandibular implant-supported denture using two implants in the canines were fabricated. The mandibular denture is a Kennedy Class II removable partial denture which consists of a six-unit porcelain fused to metal fixed dental prostheses supported by the implant in the canines on both sides and left second molar serving as the abutments. Despite severe bone resorption and insufficient abutment teeth, the patient expressed satisfaction with the treatment results. In cases with economic and anatomical constraints affecting the feasibility of complete denture, implant-supported overdenture, and implant-supported fixed dental prostheses, an implant-assisted removable partial denture using implant surveyed crowns proves to be a viable and effective alternative treatment option. Nevertheless, the current dearth of scientifically rigorous studies underscores the necessity for meticulous regular check-up and occlusal assessment.

  • This paper proposes a method for fine-tuning BERT-based natural language processing models to perform sentiment analysis on Korean review data. By varying the input sequence length during this process and comparing the performance, we aim to explore the optimal performance according to the input sequence length. For this purpose, text review data collected from the clothing shopping platform M was utilized. Through web scraping, review data was collected. During the data preprocessing stage, positive and negative satisfaction scores were recalibrated to improve the accuracy of the analysis. Specifically, the GPT-4 API was used to reset the labels to reflect the actual sentiment of the review texts, and data imbalance issues were addressed by adjusting the data to 6:4 ratio. The reviews on the clothing shopping platform averaged about 12 tokens in length, and to provide the optimal model suitable for this, five BERT-based pre-trained models were used in the modeling stage, focusing on input sequence length and memory usage for performance comparison. The experimental results indicated that an input sequence length of 64 generally exhibited the most appropriate performance and memory usage. In particular, the KcELECTRA model showed optimal performance and memory usage at an input sequence length of 64, achieving higher than 92% accuracy and reliability in sentiment analysis of Korean review data. Furthermore, by utilizing BERTopic, we provide a Korean review sentiment analysis process that classifies new incoming review data by category and extracts sentiment scores for each category using the final constructed model.

  • This research aims to enhance donor engagement by increasing the transparency of nonprofit donation platforms. Donations are primarily based on social trust, and a lack of transparency on these platforms can significantly reduce donor motivation. To address this issue, the study analyzes the user experience of existing donation platforms, identifies problems, and explores potential improvements. The research began with a literature review to examine the social need for donations and their effectiveness. The findings indicate that donors place a high value on transparency and are less willing to donate when this element is lacking. Specifically, when donors can clearly see how their contributions are being utilized, they experience greater psychological satisfaction and are more likely to continue donating. The study analyzed various platforms to identify issues causing user discomfort and compared elements aimed at enhancing transparency. By employing the KJ affinity method and the Double Diamond process, the study aimed to understand the problem's nature and propose solutions considering the interactions between donors and nonprofits. A key conclusion is the critical importance of making information more accessible and intuitive. The findings suggest that greater transparency can help build donor trust, improve nonprofit efficiency, and contribute to a more robust giving ecosystem. Additionally, platforms with increased transparency facilitate ongoing communication between donors and nonprofits, fostering an environment where donors become more actively engaged in their giving. This strategy is expected to play a vital role in promoting a sustainable culture of giving based on mutual trust.

  • Childcare support for working mothers is crucial for women's smooth transition into society, career development, and well-being. Based on interviews with 10 Korean working mothers with children aged 0-2, this paper explores the process of utilizing childcare support services, psychological experiences, and plans for work-life balance using the grounded theory analysis method. The analysis revealed three categories: the decision-making process before using the childcare services (past), experiences during the use of childcare support (present), and future plans for work-life balance (future). The decision-making process before using childcare support services consisted of the following categories: seeking information about childcare support services, having family discussions during the decision-making process, the proposer and decision-maker of the services, and the final decision on childcare support services. Experiences during the use of services included economic burdens, changes in postnatal career paths, disparities between expectations and the reality of pre- and post-childbirth, discrepancies between expectations and reality in work-family balance, factors affecting of quality of life, and the division of household and childcare responsibilities with husbands. Plans for future work-life balance included categories such as the desire for career advancement, the desire to maintain a career, the desire for temporary or reduced career commitment, and uncertainty regarding future career plans. Finally, the study investigated whether there were differences in the past and present service usage processes and experiences based on plans for future work-life balance. This research suggests the need for multidimensional support for working mothers' work-family balance and well-being, and highlights the need to reduce uncertainty about women's future careers.
