POI Recommender System based on Folksonomy Using Mashup (매쉬업을 이용한 폭소노미 기반 POI 추천 시스템)

  • The most of navigation services these days, are designed in order to just provide a shortest path from current position to destination for a user. Several navigation services provides not only the path but some fragmentary information about its point, but, the data tends to be highly restricted because it's quality and quantity totally depends on service provider's providing policy. In this paper, we describe the folksonomy POI(Point of interest) recommender system using mashup in order to provide the information that is more useful to the user. The POI recommender system mashes-up the user's folksonomy data that stacked by user with using external folksonomy service(like Flickr) with others' in order to provide more useful information for the user. POI recommender system recommends others' tag data that is evaluated with the user folksonomy similarity. Using folksonomy mahup makes the services can provide more information that is applied the users' karma. By this, we show how to deal with the data's restrictions of quality and quantity.

Network Configuration Design of GNSS Receiving Station for Optimizing Performance of Precise Positioning (정밀 위치결정 성능 최적화를 위한 위성항법 수신국 네트워크 구성)

  • In this paper, requirements of GNSS receiver station installation are derived for optimizing the performance of network based GNSS precise positioning by concern of international organization(IGS, NGS) recommendation. Also a analysis method of network based GNSS precise positioning is suggested in order to evaluate the availability depending on various network configurations. To evaluate network candidates, a performance evaluation method is proposed for positioning of users according to a geometric configuration and the baseline distance. After the proposed method is used to Ochang region that is a the test area 6 network candidates are derived and the performance of positioning was analyzed. Finally, Ansung, Gongju, Eumsung, Boeun network configuration was selected as the best positioning performance. An optimal Receiving station network was selected using the proposed method.

  • Due to the recent tremendous growth of internet information, RSS, syndication technology provides internet users with a user-friendly information search. RSS enables you to automatically receive newly updated contents, so users do not need to constantly access web sites to obtain new information. This paper proposes the way of managing the web crawler, which collects the sites of RSS documents and helps the users efficiently use the RSS documents. And it also suggests the proper way of ranking the RSS documents based on the users' popularity. Users can efficiently search out the documents they need by using the proposed information searching methods.

National Oil Pollution Response System : Current Issues and Policy Recommendation (우리나라 기름오염방제제도의 문제점과 개선방안)

  • After the Sea Prince oil spill accident in 1995, the korean government has taken a measure to establish an emergency response system and equip clean-up capacity against large spill, major contents of which are as follows: First, Korea Marine Pollution Response Corporation has been established as a non-government organization for recovery of spilled oil in order to improve private response capabilities. Second, clean-up equipments, such as large clean-up vessels and oil fences for the open sea operation has been expanded. Third, a national contingency plan on the large spill accidents has been established compliance with the provisions of Article 6 of the OPRC 1990. However, there exist some problems in the national response system, such as clearly roles definition between government and private agencies; propel amendment of the Marine Pollution Prevention Act to incorporate major contents of the OPRC 1990; and training and exercises of clean-up personnel. With the above problems in mind, this paper reviews the current issues on the national oil pollution response system and recommends policy-making to tackle to those problems.

  • SCS(Social Curation Service) is a service system to help sale and consumption with intelligent information about consumer's favor which is got from the combination of social service and internet shopping mall. This paper develops and analyzes some algorithms for catching the customer's preference tendency in SCS system. The developed algorithms are implemented to verify it's efficiency.

  • A various multimedia application services are developed wiht techniques of high speed networks and computer. Especially the videoconference system is important and useful in a remote discussion with multiple users. A vidoconferencing system in local area network used in corporation and university is useful and important. A standardization for it should be showed in ITU. Recommendation H.323 describes terminals, equipment, and services for videoconference over communication networks which do not provide a guaranteed Quality of Services for videoconference over communication networks which do not provide a guaranteed Quality of Service. In this paper, we introduce ITU-T H.323 which is the standardization over internet, and show a multipoint videoconferencing system and peer to peer videophone system using the ITU-T H.323.

  • In this paper, we propose a new idea to evaluate the prediction accuracy of user's preference generated by memory-based collaborative filtering algorithm before prediction process in the recommender system. Our analysis results show the possibility of a pre-evaluation before the prediction process of users' preference of item's transaction on the web. Classification functions proposed in this study generate a user's rating pattern under certain conditions. In this research, we test whether classification functions select users who have lower prediction or higher prediction performance under collaborative filtering recommendation approach. The statistical test results will be based on the differences of the prediction accuracy of each user group which are classified by classification functions using the generative probability of specific rating. The characteristics of rating patterns of classified users will also be presented.

  • The medical records of diagnostic and testing information include sensitive personal information that reveals some of the most intimate aspects of an individual's life. The hospital information system (HIS) operates in a state of high risk which may lead to the possible loss to the IS resources caused by various threats. This research addresses twofold : (1) to perform asset identification ad valuation and (2) to recommend countermeasures for secure HIS network using case studies This paper applied a risk management tool CRAMM (Central Computer and Tele-communications Agency's Risk Analysis and Management Method) to assess asset values and suggest countermeasures for the security of computerized medical information of two large hospitals in Korea. CRAMM countermeasures are recommended at the reference sites from the network security requirements of system utilized for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The results of the study will enhance the awareness of IS risk management by IS managers.

  • o Korea consumed total 198.5 million TOE and the portion of crude oil n was 100.4 million TOE in 2002 which marked the 10th largest energy consuming country and ranks the $4^{th}$ crude oil consumer in the world. o Industries consumed 51.5% of the total energy and 93% of industrial energy was used at the manufacturing industries such as steel, textile, chemical, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and timber industries, which lead to energy intensive industries numbered 110,000. o Also Korea ranks the $10^{th}$ greenhouse gas emission countries of the world (134.9 million TC) which may cause Korean industries to suffer severely during the implementation of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). o Therefore, the target of the study is to develop a model for the analysis and design of industrial complex by integration of the energy usage and environmental problems. o The research work contents are as followings: -Analysis of Korea energy consumption -Concept of the integration of energy and environment problems - Basic concept of industrial complex planning - Case study (1) - Recommendation and conclusion

  • Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis has many applications in information retrieval and filtering, natural language processing, machine learning from text, and in related areas. In this paper, we propose an algorithm using weighted Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis Model to find the contextual phrases and opinions from documents. The traditional keyword search is unable to find the semantic relations of phrases, Overcoming these obstacles requires the development of techniques for automatically classifying semantic relations of phrases. Through experiments, we show that the proposed algorithm works well to discover semantic relations of phrases and presents the semantic relations of phrases to the vector-space model. The proposed algorithm is able to perform a variety of analyses, including such as document classification, online reputation, and collaborative recommendation.
