  • Image processing was used to recognize parts at various disposition. Non-transpatent tachometer panel for automobile and semi-transparent panel have been used as test specimen. Laplacian filter and various threshold values have been applied for preprocessing and edge following algorithm has been applied. Series of length data between edges have been generated from each image and compared using cross correlation coefficient. The result using cross correlation coefficient. The result using both edge following and cross correlation coefficient was proven to be the best fit for the proposed parts.

  • New package process for PDP was proposed based on the glass-to-glass vacuum-electrostatic bonding process and tubeless packaging concept derived from the previous study. Hermeticity and operating performance of PDP test panel through the seal-off process application and the possibility for practical use might be high if the process simplicity and productivity-related effort was sequentially carried out.

A Time-Domain Approach for the Second-Order Diffraction Problem Around Circular Cylinders in Random Waves

  • This study concentrates on the second-order diffraction problem around circular cylinders in multi-frequency waves. The method of solution is a time-domain Rankine panel method which adopts a higher-order approximation for the velocity potential and wave elevation. In the present study, the multiple second-order quadratic transfer functions are extracted from the second-order time signal generated in random waves, and the comparison with other bench-mark test results shows a good agreement. This approach is directly applicable to prediction of nonlinear forces on offshore structures in random ocean.

Development of Computerized Screening Test Items for Mild Cognitive Impairment (경도인지장애 선별을 위한 전산화 평가 항목 개발)

  • Objective: This study was to develop computerized screening test items for mild cognitive impairment. Methods: Through literature reviews, items from computerized tests for screening mild cognitive impairment were extracted. A panel of professional experts validated that the items were important and fit to screen for mild cognitive impairment. Results: A total 37 items were extracted from 12 computerized tests and 11 new items were added through the first panel review. After that, 18 items were removed via the second panel review. Finally, 16 items were selected by analyzing content validity ratio. 16 items consisted of memory, attention, and executive function areas. Conclusions: A total of 16 computerized test items were developed. It is urgent to validate them to screen mild cognitive impairment. Moreover, standardization studies for this test are required in the future.

  • Consumer acceptance and preference tests for commercial milk were run with laboratory consumer panel. The results were summarized as follows: 1. According to result of the paired comparison preference test between milk K and each of 4 commercial milk tested a significant difference in the consumer preference was not recognized at 5 percent level 2. According to result of hedonic scale test for commercial milk, a significant difference on both treatment and panel member effect was not recognized at 5 percent level. 3. According to result of food action scale test for commercial milk, the frequency of 'I would drink this every opportunity I had' was the highest as 38 percent. 4. According to the rank test for the determination of the preference for milk flavor on the temperature of sample, the frequency of sampling at $20^{\circ}C$ was the highest. 5. A significant difference on the flavor of milk was recognized among 5 samples of commercial milk by both difference test and profile test as reported in the previous paper (Korean J. Food Sci. Technol. 12(3), 150 and 158(1980)), but not by rank test, preference test and hedonic scale test. This fact suggests that rank test, preference test and hedonic scale test are influenced by the difference on the preference of the panel members and on the basis of quality, etc.

A Study on the functional pattern design for brassiere-focusing on large-breasted women- (기능성 브래지어 패턴디자인 연구 -돌출.하수 유방유형을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop designs and patterns of a functional brassiere. For this purpose, women who have protruding and drooping breasts with 75B for their brassiere size were sampled. The fitting test for the fitness and function of test brassiere and control brassiere were carried out twice and compared the results from the both in terms of front, rear and side looks. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. The results from measuring the level of sag and spread, and volume and protrusion of breasts shows that there are some distinctive differences in the measurements before and after wearing the test brassiere and the test brassiere is proved to be very effective in correcting breasts' shapes. 2. Front look: Since the two front cutting lines of the test brassiere served to have the curved main part pressing against the breasts, it could support breasts to more than satisfactory level. In addition, upperline panel and side panels of the test brassiere were found to have the upperline of the upper cup pressed against the breasts and at the same time it pressed and gathered the flab around upper part of the breasts and armpits that helped to rearrange the shape of the breasts. It is also proved that the two-pieced test brassier was found to be more functional in supporting the lower cup of the breasts. 3. Rear look: The test brassier was made up of two wide U-shaped wings with 2.5cm tape on its lower sides. Each wing has 4 lines and 3 hems (5.5cm). For this reason, the test brassiere was tighter and better fitted on its back. 4. Side look and entire look: The wings of the test brassiere might look wider than that of the control brassier which has conventional straight-shaped wings, but it was analyzed that the test brassiere held the upper and lower sides of the wings more effectively to be more pressed against the breast. Therefore, the test brassiere scored higher in terms of adjusting to body movements, while the control brassiere looked better in overall terms. 5. The functional brassier fur protruding and drooping breasts developed from the experiments of this study is a full side stretch brassiere which covers the entire breasts satisfactorily. Functional Verification of Pin-puller-type Holding and Release Mechanism Based on Nylon Wire Cutting Release Method for CubeSat Applications (나일론선 절단 방식에 기반한 Pin-puller형 큐브위성용 태양전지판 구속분리장치의 기능검증)

  • In general, a non-explosive nylon wire cutting-based holding and release mechanism has been used to store and deploy deployable solar panels of CubeSat. However, with this method, accessing the solar panel's access port for charging the cube satellite's battery and electrical inspection and testing of the PCB and payloads while the solar panel is in storage is difficult. Additionally, the mechanism must have a reliable release function in an in-orbit environment, and reusability for stow and deploy of the solar panel, which is a hassle for the operator and difficult to maintain a consistent nylon wire fastening process. In this study, we proposed a pin-puller-based solar panel holding and release mechanism that can easily deploy a solar panel without cutting nylon wires by separating constraining pins. The proposed mechanism's release function and performance were verified through a solar panel deployment test and a maximum separation load measurement test. Through this, we also verified the design feasibility and effectiveness of the pin-puller-based separation device.

Identifying Factors Influencing Fish Production of Shallow-sea Aquaculture Based on the Dynamic Panel Model (동적패널모형을 이용한 천해어류양식 생산에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture in South Korea. This study employed the two-way fixed effect and random effect models based on the panel models and also the difference between GMM and system GMM models based on the dynamic panel models using the amount of fish farming production, the number of stocked fry, the number of cultured fish, the amount of inputted feed, the farming area, the number of workers, and the sales price data from 2010 to 2017. First, the two-way fixed effect model of the panel models was selected by panel characteristics, time characteristics and Hausman tests and also the model was statistically significant. As a result of the two-way fixed effect model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, and the number of workers were identified as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the number of cultured fish and the sales price were analyzed as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. Second, the system GMM model of the dynamic panel models was selected by Hansen test and Arellano-Bond test in order to identify whether or not the over-discrimination condition is appropriate. Based on the system GMM model, the number of stocked fry, the amount of inputted feed, the number of workers in this year and 1 year ago, the number of cultured fish 2 years ago, and the sale price 3 years ago were analyzed as factors that increase the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. However, the amount of fish farming production 1, 2, 3 years ago, the farming area in this year, and the number of cultured fish in this year and 1 year ago were identified as factors that reduce the fish production of shallow-sea aquaculture. In conclusion, this study suggests that it is desirable to control the amount of stocked fry rather than to expand the farming area for fish farming in shallow-sea aquaculture, so as to keep the sale price at a certain level by maintaining the appropriate amount of fish production.

Shaking Table Test of 1/3-Scale 3-Story Sam-Hwan Camus Precast Concrete Model (1/3축소 3층 삼환까뮤 P.C 모델의 진동대 실험)

  • The objective of the research stated here was aimed at providing the information needed to establish the Korean Seismic Design Code Recommendations and Guides for precast concrete (P.C) large panel apartment buildings. This was accomplished by investigation and analysis of the response of P.C large panel structures subjected to shaking table excitation simulating earthquake ground motion. one of the test specimens used was 1/3-scaled 3-story box P.C model provided by Sam-Hwan Camus Corporation. The 4m $\times$4m shaking table was used to simulate the earthquake ground motion. the employed input accelerogram was the one recorded as Taft N21E component and the peak ground acceleration(PGA) was scaled depending on the desired level of seismic severity and the time according to dynamic similitude rule. Based on results obtained from shaking table test of this P.C model, the following conclusions were drawn . (1) As far as test specimen is concerned, the seismic safety factors turns out to be 7~8. (2)P.C model has damping ratio of about8% which is twice larger than in-situ R.C. structure. And (3)this model has global displacement ductility ratio of 2~3 through the energy dissipation by opening and sliding of joints.

Research on Allergy-Causing Materials of Allergy Diseases (알레르기 의심환자의 알러겐 발생빈도에 대한 연구)

  • Among the inhalant and foods which caused allergy, which is increasing nowaday, this research has a purpose of studying allergy-causing materials (allergen) which most frequently cause allergy. In order to conduct this research, we selected 100 hundred patients (M : F = 65 : 35) from in Kwangju Christian Hospital, who were tested through allergy multiple antigen simultaneous test (MAST) immunoblot assay (RIDA$^{(R)}$ X-Screen; r-Biopharm Co., Darmstadt, Germany). According to the test, the total IgE positive rate (above Class 2) from the inhalant is 58.3%, and that from food is 35%, respectively. This research showed that the first most allergen was the tick (Derm. farinae/Derm. pteronyssinus), the second most was housedust, and the third was the hair of pets such as cats and dogs; 65%, 35%, 26.3% in inhalant panel, and 52.5%, 40%, 50% in food panel, respectively. Thease allergens newly added to inhalant and food panels were not contributable to the detection of specifical allergen. We needs further improvement to be used as primary screening or quantitative test for allergy.
