철도차량 완충기 패드용 고무소재 수명예측 (Useful Lifetime Prediction of Coupling Rubber Pad for Railway Vehicles)

  • Coupling rubber pad are important components in railway vehicles. It can be used for reduce shock, vibration and noise. Simple tension, equi-biaxial tension and pure shear test were performed to acquire the coefficient of rubber material which were Mooney-Rivlin and Ogden model. The finite element analysis was executed to evaluate the behavior of deformation and stress distribution by using the commercial finite element analysis code. Useful life evaluation are very important in design procedure to assure the safety and reliability of the rubber components. In this paper, useful life prediction of rubber pad for railway vehicle were experimentally investigated. Accelerated heat-aging test for rubber material were carried. Compression set results changes as the threshold are used for assessment of the useful life and time to threshold value were plotted against reciprocal of absolute temperature to give the Arrhenius plot.

  • Kinik Company pioneered diamond pad conditioners protected by DLC barrier ($DiaShield^{(R)}$ Coating) back in 1999 (Sung & Lin, US Patent 6,368,198). Kink also evaluated Cermet Composite Coating (CCC or $C^3$, patent pending) with a composition that grades from a metallic (e.g. stainless steel) interlayer to a ceramic (e.g. $Al_2O_3$ or SiC) exterior. The metallic interlayer can form metallurgical bond with metallic matrix on the diamond pad conditioner. The ceramic exterior is both wear and corrosion resistant. The gradational design of $C^3$ coating will assure its strong adherence to the substrate because there is no weak boundary between coating and substrate.

미끄럼 스러스트베어링의 성능에 미치는 베어링 형상의 영향 해석 (Analytical Study on Effects of Bearing Geometry on Performance of Sliding Thrust Bearings)

  • In the present study, we develop an analysis module to be applicable to design of sliding thrust bearings. The pressure equation is solved by using the finite element method. Average lubricant temperature is obtained from using the energy balance method. The module developed has been applied to three types of thrust bearing, such as tapered-land thrust bearings of angular and diamond types, and tilting-pad thrust bearings. Effects of the dam of the tapered-lad thrust bearings have also been investigated. It has been seen that the tapered-land thrust bearings of angular type result in the highest load capacity, while the tilting pad thrust bearings result in the lowest lubricant temperature. It has also been seen that the dam in the tapered-land thrust bearings increases both the load capacity and lubricant temperature.

  • Electric power is generated by Seeback Effect if there is thermal difference in pettier module. Peltier module is composed by alumina, Bi-Te semiconductor and insulation (or air). If load is increased in pettier module, the alumina of module will be destroyed. One of the preventing method of module destruction is using damper between module and heat source. But the electric Power is dropped because of decrease of thermal difference, if thermal conductivity of damper was tourer than other thermoelectric materials. We design, Polymer Pad for enhancing thermoelectric porter. As the result of these experiment, Polymer Pad is more superior than the Rubber in the stability and thermal conduction.

Fatigue Strength Assessment of A Longitudinal Hatch Coaming in a 3800 TEU Containership by ABS Dynamic Approach

  • Fatigue strength assessment procedures have been implemented in the ship design rules by many classification societies. However, a large variation tin the details of the different approaches exists in practically all aspects influding load history assessment, stress evaluation and fatigue strength assessment. In order to assess the influences of thesd variations on the prediction of fatigue lives. a comparative study is organized by the ISSC Committee III.2 Fatigue and Fracture. A pad detail on the top of longitudinal hatch coaming of a panamax container vessel is selected for fatigue calculation. The work described in this paper is one set of results of this comparative study in which the ABS dynamics approach is applied. Through this analysis the following conclusions can be drawn. (1) With the original ABS approach, the fatigue life of this pad detail is very low, only 2.398 years. (2) The treatment of the stillwater bending moment in the ABS approach might be a source of conservatism. If the influence of stillwater bending moment is ignored, then the fatigue life for this pad detail is 7.036 years. (3) The difference between the nominal stress approach and the hot spot stress approach for this pad detail is about 26%.

제동 시스템에서 고속 저더 개선 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study for High Speed Judder Evaluation on Brake System)

  • This paper deals with experimental evaluation methods for high speed judder on the brake-caliper system. Firstly, two types of brake caliper systems due to the wheel vibration was evaluated. Secondly, the high-speed judder of the brake was also investigated using the subjective rating evaluation in the high-speed road test. These experimental evaluations were carried out by changing the materials of brake pad and the specifications of the brake-corner module. Based upon the test results, a new specification of the brake pad, $15{\times}5$ vertical chamfer, was proposed. The new brake pad showed 3 points, 60 %, improvement in the subjective-rating evaluation comparing with conventional one. Besides, we need to decide properly with judder characteristic of pad material and have to carefully take into consideration other design parameters; caliper, disc, and the braking performance, durability, squeal noise.

  • 석유화학산업단지에서는 화재의 위험성이 많은 석유관련 제품을 제조 생산하는 과정에서 화재, 누전, 정전기 등에 의한 폭발사고가 자주 발생하고 있다. 따라서 정전기를 체계적으로 관리하여 폭발사고를 미연에 예방할 수 있는 시스템의 개발이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 최소제곱 회귀분석을 기초로 연산에 사용될 샘플의 수를 동적으로 변화시켜 정전기 값을 실시간으로 예측하는 PAD(Prediction Algorithm by Difference of sample value) 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 제안된 PAD알고리즘은 이전 값과 현재 값의 차이를 이용하여 임계값을 기준으로 연산샘플 개수를 3개로 할 것인지 6개로 할 것인지를 결정한다. 모의실험을 위해 공장에서 산출된 데이터를 사용하여 기존의 LSM(Least Square Method)알고리즘을 통해 연산에 사용될 고정된 샘플수 3, 6, 9개를 모의실험 한 결과 95% 신뢰확률에서 표준편차 75.17843, 81.13392, 107.3173을 각각 얻었다. PAD는 95% 신뢰확률에서 표준편차 73.18161을 나타내 기존의 방법보다 우수한 결과를 보였다.

3 패드 가스 포일 저널 베어링의 프리로드 증가에 따른 성능 해석 (Analysis of Three-Pad Gas Foil Journal Bearing for Increasing Mechanical Preloads)

  • In this study, a three-pad gas foil journal bearing with a diameter of 40 mm and an axial length of 35 mm was modeled to predict the static and dynamic performances with regard to an increasing mechanical preload. The Reynolds equation for an isothermal and isoviscous ideal gas was coupled with a simple elastic foundation foil model to calculate the hydrodynamic pressure solution iteratively. In the prediction results, the journal eccentricity, journal attitude angle, and minimum film thickness decreased, but the friction torque increased with the preload. A quick comparison implied a lower load capacity but higher stability for a three-pad gas foil bearing compared to a one-pad gas foil journal bearing. The direct stiffness coefficients increased with the preload, but the cross-coupled stiffness coefficients decreased. The direct damping coefficient increased in the horizontal direction but decreased in the vertical direction as the preload increased. These model predictions will be useful as a benchmark against experimental test data.

  • 전자상거래 서비스의 사용이 활발해지면서 화폐나 마찬가지인 기능을 하는 정보가 네트워크에 만연하게 되었다. 그에 따른 해킹이 증가함에 따라 이차적 보안장치가 대안으로 부상하며 OTP(One-Time Password)가 사용되기 시작했다. 하지만 완벽하다 믿었던 기존의 One-Time Password에서 취약점이 발견되면서 추가적인 보안대책이 시급하게 되었고 더 이상 보안적인 권고만이 해결책이 아니라는 판단에 이를 해결하기 위한 구체적인 방안을 필요로 하게 되었다. 본 논문은 전자상거래 응용에서 공개키를 이용하여 안전한 키 전송을 이루기 위해 PKI 좌표기법이 적용된 OTP(One-Time-Pad)를 제안한다.

Maskless Screen Printing Process using Solder Bump Maker (SBM) for Low-cost, Fine-pitch Solder-on-Pad (SoP) Technology

  • A novel bumping process using solder bump maker (SBM) is developed for fine-pitch flip chip bonding. It features maskless screen printing process. A selective solder bumping mechanism without the mask is based on the material design of SBM. Maskless screen printing process can implement easily a fine-pitch, low-cost, and lead-free solder-on-pad (SoP) technology. Its another advantage is ternary or quaternary lead-free SoP can be formed easily. The process includes two main steps: one is the thermally activated aggregation of solder powder on the metal pads on a substrate and the other is the reflow of the deposited powder on the pads. Only a small quantity of solder powder adjacent to the pads can join the first step, so a quite uniform SoP array on the substrate can be easily obtained regardless of the pad configurations. Through this process, an SoP array on an organic substrate with a pitch of 130 ${\mu}m$ is, successfully, formed.
