  • First, we show the finiteness property of the homotopy fixed point set of p-discrete toral group. Let $G_\infty$ be a p-discrete toral group and X be a finite complex with an action of $G_\infty such that X^K$ is nilpotent for each finit p-subgroup K of $G_\infty$. Assume X is $F_\rho-complete$. Then X(sup)hG$\infty$ is F(sub)p-finite. Using this result, we give the condition so that X$^{hG}$ is $F_\rho-finite for \rho-compact$ toral group G.

  • Prevalence of a protozoan parasite Perkinsus olseni in Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum was surveyed from July to December 2009 on the west and south coast of Korea. P. olseni infection was diagnosed using two primer sets, P.olseni NTS Forward/P.olseni NTS Reverse set and PolsITS-140F/PolsITS-600R set in polymerase chain reaction(PCR). The results using PolsITS-140F and PolsITS-600R primer set was retained up to 60% at all stations from July to December, except for Padori. Especially, Goheung showed 100% prevalence from October to December. The results about comparison of the 4 station's DNA sequences which were analyzed from PCR products(457bp) using PolsITS-140F and PolsITS-600R primer set, there were only 2base differences at Sunjedo.

  • Let $P_c(z)=z^n+c$ be a complex polynomial with an integer $n{\geq}2$. We derive a criterion that the critical orbit of $P_c$ escapes to infinity and investigate its applications to the degree-n bifurcation set. The intersection of the degree-n bifurcation set with the real line as well as with a typical symmetric axis is explicitly written as a function of n. A well-defined escape-time algorithm is also included for the improved construction of the degree-n bifurcation set.

  • For every doubling gauge g, we prove that there is a Cantor set of positive finite $H^g$-measure, $P^g$-measure, and $P^g_0$-premeasure. Also, we show that every compact metric space of infinite $P^g_0$-premeasure has a compact countable subset of infinite $P^g_0$-premeasure. In addition, we obtain a class of uniform Cantor sets and prove that, for every set E in this class, there exists a countable set F, with $\bar{F}=E{\cup}F$, and a doubling gauge g such that $E{\cup}F$ has different positive finite $P^g$-measure and $P^g_0$-premeasure.

  • This thesis develops a more realistic and applicable new set covering model that is adjusted and supplied by the existing set covering models, and induces an algorithm for solving the new set covering model, and applies the new model and the algorithm to an actual set covering problems. The new set covering model introduces a probabilistic covering aistance ($0{\eqslantless}p{\eqslantless}1$)or time($0{\eqslantless}p{\eqslantless}1$) instead of a deterministic covering distance(0 or 1) or time (0 or 1) of the existing set covering model. The existing set covering model has not considered the merit of the overcover of customers. But this new set covering model leads a concept of this overcover to a concept of the parallel system reliability. The algorithm has been programmed on the UNIVAC 9030 for solving large-scale covering problems. An application of the new set covering model is presented in order to determine the locations of the air surveillance radars as a set covering problem for a case-study.

  • Using the p chart is not adequate in case that there are lots of data and it is difficult to divide into products conforming or nonconforming because of obscurity of binary classification. So we need to design a new control chart which represents obscure situation efficiently. This study deals with the method to performing arithmetic operation representing fuzzy data into fuzzy set by applying fuzzy set theory and designs a new control chart taking account of a concept of classification on the term set and membership function associated with term set.

  • The present study was undertaken to evaluate the protective effect of ethanol (EtAS), ethyl acetate (EAAS) and aqueous (AQAS) extracts of Argyreia speciosa (AS) roots against Isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial infarction in rats. The animals were exposed to isoproterenol (200 mg/kg. s.c) twice at an interval of 24 hrs. Cardioprotective effect was assessed by observing ECG parameters, serum marker enzymes and histopathology of the heart. Pretreatment of EAAS, and EtAS (200 mg/kg) resulted in a significant (P < 0.001) increase in P wave, QRS complex and R-R interval, whereas heart rate, QT interval and cardiac cycle were maintained near to normal values. EtAS and EAAS showed significant (P < 0.05; P < 0.001) reduction in all the tested diagnostic markers compared to ISO treated group. Histological studies on the structural changes of heart tissue supported the protective activity of AS. The result suggest that treatment of AS prior to ISO has a significant role in protecting the animals from ISO induced myocardial infarction.

  • In this paper we construct a homeomorphism on a Cantor set which is nearly periodic such that h(a) = b for given a, b $\in$ D$_{p}$. We also give an example which is not almost periodic and we discuss when a homeomorphism on a Cantor set is periodic.c.

  • In this study, canonical correlation analysis (CCA) was applied to estimate the relationship between three different sexual maturity traits (X set: days to first egg (DFE), weight of the first egg (WFE), body weight at first egg (BWFE)) and level of nutrient intake (Y set: energy (EI) and protein intake (PI)) or the egg production traits at two different periods (Z set: number of egg (NE1 and NET) and weight of egg (WE1 and WET) from 22 to 25 (Wfirst) and 22 to 33 wk of age (Wall), respectively), which were measured from 64 egg-type pullets (Isa Brown) manipulated for time of access to energy and protein sources to onset of egg production. Partial CCA (PCCA) was used to eliminate the contribution of differences in the levels of nutrient intake to canonical variables for X and Z sets at the first production period. Estimated canonical correlation coefficients between X set and Y set (0.429, p = 0.042), X set and Z set (0.390, p = 0.007 for Wfirst) and within Z set (between Wfirst and Wall; 0.780, p<0.001), and partial canonical correlation coefficient between X set and Z set (0.415, p = 0.009) were significant. Canonical weights and loadings from CCA indicated that the BWFE had the largest contribution compared to the DFE and WFE to variation of egg number produced at two different periods. The results from PCCA indicated that the contribution of PI and EI to the degree of the correlation between canonical variables for X and Z sets were unfavourable. In conclusion, the effect of body weight at sexual maturity upon the availability of nutrients can have a higher contribution to variation of egg production in pullets if the contribution of differences in nutrient intakes to onset of egg production were eliminated.
