In this paper, a 3.2Gb/s clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit for a high-speed serial data communication without the reference clock is described This CDR circuit consists of 5 parts as Phase and frequency detector(PD and FD), multi-phase Voltage Controlled-Oscillator(VCO), Charge-pumps (CP) and external Loop-Filter(KF). It is adapted the PD and FD, which incorporates a half-rate bang-bang type oversampling PD and a half-rate FD that can improve pull-in range. The VCO consists of four fully differential delay cells with rail-to-rail current bias scheme that can increase the tuning range and tuning linearity. Each delay cell has output buffers as a full-swing generator and a duty-cycle mismatch compensation. This materialized CDR can achieve wide pull-in range without an extra reference clock and it can be also reduced chip area and power consumption effectively because there is no additional Phase Locked- Loop(PLL) for generating reference clock. The CDR circuit was designed for fabrication using 0.18um 1P6M CMOS process and total chip area excepted LF is $1{\times}1mm^2$. The pk-pk jitter of recovered clock is 26ps at 3.2Gb/s input data rate and total power consumes 63mW from 1.8V supply voltage according to simulation results. According to test result, the pk-pk jitter of recovered clock is 55ps at the same input data-rate and the reliable range of input data-rate is about from 2.4Gb/s to 3.4Gb/s.

The more complex and large digital circuits become, the more important delay test becomes which guarantees that circuits operate in time. In this paper, the proposed algorithm is developed, which enable the fast indirect implication for efficient test pattern generation in sequential circuits of standard scan environment. Static learning algorithm enables application of a new implication value using contrapositive proposition. The static learning procedure found structurally, analyzes the gate structure in the preprocessing phase and store the information of learning occurrence so that it can be used in the test pattern generation procedure if it satisfies the implication condition. If there exists a signal line which include all paths from some particular primary inputs, it is a partitioning point. If paths passing that point have the same partial path from primary input to the signal or from the signal to primary output, they will need the same primary input values which separated by the partitioning point. In this paper test pattern generation can be more effective by using this partitioning technique. Finally, an efficient delay fault test pattern generator using indirect implication is developed and the effectiveness of these algorithms is demonstrated by experiments.
We propose a novel phase-based method for single-channel speech enhancement to extract and enhance the desired signals in noisy environments by utilizing the phase information. In the method, a phase-dependent a priori signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is estimated in the log-mel spectral domain to utilize both the magnitude and phase information of input speech signals. The phase-dependent estimator is incorporated into the conventional magnitude-based decision-directed approach that recursively computes the a priori SNR from noisy speech. Additionally, we reduce the performance degradation owing to the one-frame delay of the estimated phase-dependent a priori SNR by using a minimum mean square error (MMSE)-based and maximum a posteriori (MAP)-based estimator. In our speech enhancement experiments, the proposed phase-dependent a priori SNR estimator is shown to improve the output SNR by 2.6 dB for both the MMSE-based and MAP-based estimator cases as compared to a conventional magnitude-based estimator.
This paper is focused on application of recursive least squares method to estimate rail irregularities from the acceleration measurement on an axle-box or a bogie for the rail condition monitoring with in-service high-speed trains. Generally, the rail condition was monitored by a special railway inspection vehicle but the monitoring method needs an expensive measurement system. A monitoring method using accelerometers on an axle-box or a bogie was already proposed in the previous study, and the displacement was successfully estimated from the acceleration data by using Kalman and frequency selective band-pass filters. However, it was found that the displacement included not only the rail irregularities but also phase delay of the applied filters, and effect of suspension of the bogie and conicity of the wheel. To identify the rail irregularities from the estimated displacement, a compensation filter method is proposed. The compensation filters are derived by using recursive least squares method with the estimated displacement as input and the measured rail irregularity as output. The estimated rail irregularities are compared with the true rail irregularity data from the rail inspection system. From the comparison, the proposed method is a useful tool for the measurement of lateral and vertical rail irregularity.
This paper is focused on development of models for measuring lateral and vertical track irregularities from corresponding accelerometers of an in-service high-speed train. Generally, the track irregularity was measured by a special railway inspection vehicle or system with contact or non-contact sensors. However, the sensors are very expensive and vulnerable to a harsh environment. Displacement estimation from an inertial measurement unit and its wave-band filtering was already developed in the previous study, and it was found that their results included not only the track irregularities but also other information such as phase delay of the applied filters, and suspension and conicity of the wheel. To identify the track irregularities from those results, a compensation filtering method was proposed. Each directional compensation filter was derived by using a system identification method with the estimated directional displacement as input and the corresponding track irregularities as output. In this paper, they are integrated into a model for each direction and applied to the measured lateral and vertical acceleration data from the axle-box and bogie of an in-service high-speed train. Their results are compared with the data from the track geometry measurement system. From the comparison, the proposed models are a useful tool for the measurement of the track irregularities using accelerometers of in-service high-speed trains.

In this paper, stochastic models for the cross-correlation of multiple channels are established based on measurement data collected using a wideband multiple-input multiple-output relay Band Exploration and Channel Sounder system at 3.7 GHz. We propose models for the cross-correlation characteristics of large-scale parameters (LSPs) between two links, that is, the base station and mobile station (MS) link and the relay station and MS link. The LSPs include shadow fading, Rician K-factor, delay spread, angle spread of arrival, and angle spread of departure. Furthermore, models are established for the cross-correlation of the small-scale fading in the impulse responses of two links. The statistics of these model parameters are investigated as functions of geometrical features of the multilink. They are extracted from a large amount of cross-correlation observations, which are obtained in three measurement sites along more than one hundred measurement routes. These models can be used together with the standard single-link channel models for the generation of correlated components, for example, path clusters, in two separate channels.

Pneumatic exciters can be good replacements of electrodynamic, piezoelectric and hydraulic exciters owing to simple structure and large exciting force. One problem to be solved is a slow response caused by compressibility of air. Desirable frequency response characteristics of exciter are constant magnitude and zero degree phase, because users want no time delay between input signal and output force. For this reason, frequency range of pneumatic exciters is limited about 0~1 Hz. Therefore, expansion of frequency range is an important issue when designing the pneumatic exciter. In this paper, the pneumatic exciter which has same structure with active pneumatic isolator is dealt with. The dynamic characteristics are presented, and its limitation of expanding frequency range is shown based on analytical studies. Then the pneumatic exciter with dual-chamber is suggested to overcome this problem. Based on simulation study, a design method is presented.

A compact dual-band three-way metamaterial power divider is proposed that has three in-phase outputs. Fully printed composite rightand left-handed (CRLH) unequal and equal power dividers are first implemented for 900-MHz and 2.4-GHz bands with the power-division ratios of 2:1 and 1:1, respectively. An initial 1:1:1 power divider is then achieved by incorporating the input of the two-way equal block into an output of the unequal block, and trimming the interconnection parameters. The condition of an identical phase at the three outputs of the power divider is then met by devising a hybrid CRLH phase-shift line to compensate for the different phase errors at the two frequencies. This scheme is confirmed by predicting the performance of the power divider with circuit analysis and full-wave simulation and measuring the fabricated prototype. They results show agreement; the in-phase outputs as well as the desirable power-division are accomplished and outdo the conventional techniques.
This paper proposes a new multiuser scheduling algorithm that can simultaneously support a variety of different quality-of-service (QoS) user groups while satisfying fairness among users in the same QoS group in MIMO broadcast channels. Toward this goal, the proposed algorithm consists of two parts: a QoS-aware fair (QF) scheduling within a QoS group and an antenna trade-off scheme between different QoS groups. The proposed QF scheduling algorithm finds a user set from a certain QoS group which can satisfy the fairness among users in terms of throughput or delay. The antenna trade-off scheme can minimize the QoS violations of a higher priority user group by trading off the number of transmit antennas allocated to different QoS groups. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed QF scheduling method satisfies different types of fairness among users and can adjust the degree of fairness among them. The antenna trade-off scheme combined with QF scheduling can improve the probability of QoS-guaranteed transmission when supporting different QoS groups.

In a conventional adaptive echo canceller, an ADF(Adaptive Digital Filter) with TDL(Tapped-Delay Line) structure modelling the echo path uses the LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithm to compute the coefficients, and NET detector using energy comparison method prevents the ADF to update the coefficients during the periods of the NET signal presence. The convergence speed of the LMS algorithm depends on the eigenvalue spread ratio of the reference signal and NET detector using the energy comparison method yields poor detection performance if the magnitude of the NET signal is small. This paper presents a new adaptive echo canceller which uses the pre-whitening filter to improve the convergence speed of the LMS algorithm. The pre-whitening filter is realized by using a low-order lattice predictor. Also, a new NET signal detection algorithm is presented, where the start point of the NET signal is detected by computing the cross-correlation coefficient between the primary input and the ADF output while the end point is detected by using the energy comparison method. The simulation results show that the convergence speed of the proposed adaptive echo canceller is faster than that of the conventional echo canceller and the cross-correlation coefficient yields more accurate detection of the start point of the NET signal.
