충격파에서의 물성치 진동현상에 대한 분석 (Analysis of Oscillatory Behaviors in Shock Waves)

  • The M-AUSMPW+ scheme that can capture shock waves exactly with monotonic characteristics is modifided from AUSMPW+ by analyzing the cause of oscillation in shock regions. Firstly shock-capturing characteristics of general FVS including the AUSM-type schemes are investigated in detail, according to the difference between a cell-interface and a sonic transition position. The cause of oscillation is the improper numerical dissipation that could not represent the real Physics. The M-AUSMPW+ could capture shocks exactly without oscillatory behaviors in considering the sonic transition position and an cell-interface position.

  • Fe/Cr/Fe trilayers have attracted much interest from both theoretical and experimental aspects due to many novel magnetic properties such as antiferromagnetic coupling, giant magnetoresistance, oscillatory bilinear and biquadratic coupling [1]. In this work, we report that there is an oscillation of magnetic anisotropy with increasing intervening Cr layer thickness in Fe/Cr/Fe trilayers. (omitted)

  • In this paper, Chaotic motions of a curved pipe conveying oscillatory flow are theoretically investigated. The nonlinear partial differential equation of motion is derived by Newton's method. The transformed nonlinear ordinary differential equation is a type of Hill's equation, which have the parametric and external excitation. Bifurcation curves of chaotic motion of the piping systems are obtained by applying Melnikov's method. Poincare maps numerically demonstrate theoretical results and show transverse homoclinic orbit of the chaotic motion.

  • Krylov-Bogoliubov-Mitropolskii method has been extended to obtain asymptotic solution of n-th order nonlinear differential system characterized by certain non-oscillatory processes. The damping force is considered in such a manner that one of the characteristic roots of the linear system becomes small and others are in integral multiple. The method is illustrated by an example. The solutions for different initial conditions show a good agreement with those obtained by numerical method.

Spontaneous Oscillatory Rhythm in Retinal Activities of Two Retinal Degeneration (rd1 and rd10) Mice

  • Previously, we reported that besides retinal ganglion cell (RGC) spike, there is ~10 Hz oscillatory rhythmic activity in local field potential (LFP) in retinal degeneration model, rd1 mice. The more recently identified rd10 mice have a later onset and slower rate of photoreceptor degeneration than the rd1 mice, providing more therapeutic potential. In this study, before adapting rd10 mice as a new animal model for our electrical stimulation study, we investigated electrical characteristics of rd10 mice. From the raw waveform of recording using $8{\times}8$ microelectrode array (MEA) from in vitro-whole mount retina, RGC spikes and LFP were isolated by using different filter setting. Fourier transform was performed for detection of frequency of bursting RGC spikes and oscillatory field potential (OFP). In rd1 mice, ~10 Hz rhythmic burst of spontaneous RGC spikes is always phase-locked with the OFP and this phase-locking property is preserved regardless of postnatal ages. However, in rd10 mice, there is a strong phase-locking tendency between the spectral peak of bursting RGC spikes (~5 Hz) and the first peak of OFP (~5 Hz) across different age groups. But this phase-locking property is not robust as in rd1 retina, but maintains for a few seconds. Since rd1 and rd10 retina show phase-locking property at different frequency (~10 Hz vs. ~5 Hz), we expect different response patterns to electrical stimulus between rd1 and rd10 retina. Therefore, to extract optimal stimulation parameters in rd10 retina, first we might define selection criteria for responding rd10 ganglion cells to electrical stimulus.

$SF_6-N_2$ 혼합가스에서 과도임펄스전압에 대한 V-t특성 (V-t Characteristics in $SF_6-N_2$ Mixtures for Transient Impulse Voltages)

  • In this paper, breakdown voltages in $SF_6-N_2$ mixtures were experimentally investigated to understand characteristics of dielectric strength and physical phenomena in nonuniform field disturbed by a needle shape protrusion. The test voltages are the lightning impulse$(\pm1.2/44 \mus)$ and the damped oscillatory impulse$(\pm400 ns / 0.83 MHz)$ voltages which can be occurred by the operation of disconnecting switches in gas-insulated switchgears(GIS). The effects of the polarity and wave shape of the test voltages, and the gas pressure on the V-t characteristics were in detail examined. The V-t characteristic curves were measured in different two ways : (1) one is the method by taking the maximum voltage recorded at or prior to breakdown against the time to breakdown, that is, the Procedures recommended in IEC 60060-1, (2) the other is the method by taking the voltage at the instant of chopping against the time to breakdown. As a result, the V-t characteristics of $SF_6-N_2$ mixtures in nonuniform electric field were significantly affected by the polarity and wave shape of the applied voltages. The positive breakdown voltages resulted in lower breakdown voltages in the time ranges considered, and the V-t curves for the negative oscillatory impulse voltage were extended over the longer time range. For the lightning impulse voltages, the V-t curves obtained by IEC Pub. 60060-1 were nearly same with the V-t curves obtained by the voltage at the instant of chopping against the time to breakdown. It is clear that the actual breakdown voltages were much lower than the maximum voltages appearing at or prior to breakdown because of the displacement current produced as a result of the dV/dt during the oscillatory transient voltage app1ication. The scattering of the negative actual breakdown voltages was much larger than that of the positive.

원관내 왕복유동에서 비정상 열전달 관계식의 공식화 (A new formulation for unsteady heat transfer of oscillatory flow in a circular tube)

  • 왕복유동에 의한 순간 열전달현상은, 왕복유동의 두가지 특성인 왕복주파수와 왕복거리를 나타내는 .betha.와 .gamma.에 의하여 결정되고, 그 특성에 따라 세영역으로 나누어짐을 확인하였다. 영역 I에서는 일방향유동에서와 마찬가지로 열유속이 평균온도차에 비례하고, 영역 II에서는 열유속과 평균온도차간에 약 45.deg.의 위상차가 발생하지만 모두 1차 조화성분이 주로 나타났다. 한편 영역 III의 경우에는 위상차가 생길뿐만 아니라 평균온도차에 고차 조화성분이 나타났다. 기존의 방법인 복소 Nusselt수를 고차 조화성분까지 확장하면 열유속을 평균온도차로 나타낼 수 있지만 각 조화성분의 정보를 다 알아야하므로 실제 적용이 불가능하였다.

대동맥-폐동맥 연결관의 접합각도와 직경의 최적화 (Optimization of the Anastomosis Angle and Diameter with the Systemic- To-Pulmonary Artery Shunt)

  • Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is currently the most lethal cardiac malformation of the newborn infant. Survival following a Norwood operation depends on the balance between systemic and pulmonary blood flow, which is highly dependent on the fluid dynamics through the interposition shunt between the two circulations. The purpose of this study is an optimization of the systemic-to-pulmonary artery shunt. In this study, We used computational fluid dynamic(CFD) models to determine the velocity profile in a systemic-to-pulmonary artery shunt and suggested a simplified method of calculating the blood flow in the shunt based on Ultrasound systems. We analyzed the flow characteristic variations and oscillatory shear index(OSI) due to the anastomosis angle and shunt diameter changing. Four different CFD models were constructed with the shunt sizes ranging from 3 to 3.5mm. The angle between the brachiocephalic trunk(BCT) and the shunt were $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, respectively. When the diameter is 3.0 mm, the oscillatory shear index decreased by 1.2% at $30^{\circ}$ as opposed to at $45^{\circ}$. When the diameter is 3.5 mm, it increased by 18% more at $30^{\circ}$ as opposed to at $45^{\circ}$. When the joint angle is $30^{\circ}$ and the diameter is 3.0 mm, the oscillatory shear index decreased by 4.1% in comparison with the 3.5 mm diameter. When the angle is $45^{\circ}$ and the diameter is 3.0 mm, the index increased by 14.6% in comparison with the 3.5 mm diameter.
