Vacuum deposited 4,4',4''-tris(N-(1-naphthyl)-N-phenylamino)-triphenylamine (1-TNATA), a widely-used semiconductor material, is placed as a thin interlayer between indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode and a hole transporting layer (HTL) in OLEDs and a well-stacked 1-TNATA layer leads to stable and high efficiency devices by reducing the carrier injection barrier at the interface between the ITO anode and hole transport layers. According to Raman spectra, thermal annealing after deposition as well as electromagnetic field treatment during deposition lead to closer stacking of 1-TNATA molecules and resulted in molecular ordering. By thermal annealing at about $110^{\circ}C$, an increase in current flow through the film by over 25% was observed. Molecularly-ordered 1-TNATA films played an important role in achieving higher luminance efficiency as well as higher power efficiency of the multi-layered organic EL devices in the present work. Electromagnetic field treatment during deposition was less effective compared to thermal annealing

Magnetic random access memory (MRAM) has made a prominent progress in memory performance and has brought a bright prospect for the next generation nonvolatile memory technologies due to its excellent advantages. Dry etching process of magnetic thin films is one of the important issues for the magnetic devices such as magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJs) based MRAM. CoFeB is a well-known soft ferromagnetic material, of particular interest for magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) and other devices based on tunneling magneto-resistance (TMR), such as spin-transfer-torque MRAM. One particular example is the CoFeB - MgO - CoFeB system, which has already been integrated in MRAM. In all of these applications, knowledge of control over the etching properties of CoFeB is crucial. Recently, transferring the pattern by using milling is a commonly used, although the redeposition of back-sputtered etch products on the sidewalls and the low etch rate of this method are main disadvantages. So the other method which has reported about much higher etch rates of >$50{\AA}/s$ for magnetic multi-layer structures using $Cl_2$/Ar plasmas is proposed. However, the chlorinated etch residues on the sidewalls of the etched features tend to severely corrode the magnetic material. Besides avoiding corrosion, during etching facets format the sidewalls of the mask due to physical sputtering of the mask material. Therefore, in this work, magnetic material such as CoFeB was etched in an ICP etching system using the gases which can be expected to form volatile metallo-organic compounds. As the gases, carbon monoxide (CO) and ammonia ($NH_3$) were used as etching gases to form carbonyl volatiles, and the etched features of CoFeB thin films under by Ta masking material were observed with electron microscopy to confirm etched resolution. And the etch conditions such as bias power, gas combination flow, process pressure, and source power were varied to find out and control the properties of magnetic layer during the process.

We have developed the multi-functioned friction measuring instrument for the previous research. In here, we improved the performance of friction measuring instrument by applying the adaptive smoothing method and analyzed the friction of plate and monitoring function of friction surface through scratch tests. We substituted lubricant steel plate to lubricant oil used for reducing the friction when fabricating steel plate because lubricant oil was regarded as one of the major causes for the environmental pollution. In particular, the functions of various plate such as galvannealed steel sheets were analyzed because friction coefficient could be changed depending on the type of organic/inorganic plate or state of coating layer. Therefore, we demonstrated that adaptive smoothing method could enhance the accuracy of measuring instrument which eliminate the noise. As a result of using the method, it showed the reduction rate 0.0417% for the friction coefficient 0.16.

Vacuum deposited 4,4',4"-tris(N-(2-naphthyl)-N-phenylamino)-triphenylamine (2-TNATA), used as a hole injection (HIL) material in OLEDs, is placed as a thin interlayer between indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode and a hole transporting layer (HTL) in the devices. C60-doped 2-TNATA:C60 (20 wt%) film was formed via co-evaporation process and molecular ordering and topology of 2-TNATA:C60 films were investigated using XRD and AFM. The J-V, L-V and current efficiency of multi-layered devices were characterized as well. Vacuum-deposited C60 film was molecularly oriented, but neither was 2-TNATA:C60 film due to the uniform dispersion of C60 molecules in the film. By using C60-doped 2-TNATA:C60 film as a HIL, the current density and luminance of a multi-layered ITO/2-TNATA:C60/NPD/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al device were significantly increased and the current efficiency of the device was increased from 4.7 to 6.7 cd/A in the present study.

Vacuum deposited N,N-di-1-naphthyl-N,N-diphenyl-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (NPD) as a hole transporting (HTL) materials in OLEDs was placed on PEDOT-PSS, a hole injection layer (HIL). PEDOT-PSS was spin-coated on to the ITO glass. $C_{60}$-doped NPD-$C_{60}$(10 wt%) film was formed via co-evaporation process and the morphology of NPD-$C_{60}$ films was investigated using XRD and AFM. The J - V, L - V and current efficiency of multi -layered devices were characterized. According to XRD results, the deposited $C_{60}$ thin film was partially crystalline, but NPD-$C_{60}$ film was observed not to be crystalline, which indicates that $C_{60}$ molecules are uniformly dispersed in the NPD film. By using $C_{60}$-doped NPD-$C_{60}$ film as a HTL, the current density and luminance of multi-layered ITO/PEDOT-PSS/NPD-$C_{60}/Alq_3$/LiF/Al device were significantly increased by about 80% and its efficiency was improved by about 25% in this study.

In this talk, I will introduce two topics. The first topic is the polymer light emitting diodes (PLEDs) using graphene oxide quantum dots as emissive center. More specifically, the energy transfer mechanism as well as the origin of white electroluminescence in the PLED were investigated. The second topic is the facile synthesis of eco-friendly III-V colloidal quantum dots and their application to light emitting diodes. Polymer (organic) light emitting diodes (PLEDs) using quantum dots (QDs) as emissive materials have received much attention as promising components for next-generation displays. Despite their outstanding properties, toxic and hazardous nature of QDs is a serious impediment to their use in future eco-friendly opto-electronic device applications. Owing to the desires to develop new types of nanomaterial without health and environmental effects but with strong opto-electrical properties similar to QDs, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have attracted great interest as promising luminophores. However, the origin of electroluminescence (EL) from GQDs incorporated PLEDs is unclear. Herein, we synthesized graphene oxide quantum dots (GOQDs) using a modified hydrothermal deoxidization method and characterized the PLED performance using GOQDs blended poly(N-vinyl carbazole) (PVK) as emissive layer. Simple device structure was used to reveal the origin of EL by excluding the contribution of and contamination from other layers. The energy transfer and interaction between the PVK host and GOQDs guest were investigated using steady-state PL, time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Experiments revealed that white EL emission from the PLED originated from the hybridized GOQD-PVK complex emission with the contributions from the individual GOQDs and PVK emissions. (Sci Rep., 5, 11032, 2015). New III-V colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) were synthesized using the hot-injection method and the QD-light emitting diodes (QLEDs) using these CQDs as emissive layer were demonstrated for the first time. The band gaps of the III-V CQDs were varied by varying the metal fraction and by particle size control. The X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) results show that the crystal states of the III-V CQDs consist of multi-phase states; multi-peak photoluminescence (PL) resulted from these multi-phase states. Inverted structured QLED shows green EL emission and a maximum luminance of ~45 cd/m2. This result shows that III-V CQDs can be a good substitute for conventional cadmium-containing CQDs in various opto-electronic applications, e.g., eco-friendly displays. (Un-published results).

IZO/Ag/IZO (IAI) anode films for flexible organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) were grown on PC (polycarbonate) substrate using DC sputter (IZO) and thermal evaporator (Ag) systems as a function of Ag thickness. To investigate electrical and optical properties of IAI stacked films, 4-point probe and UV/Vis spectrometer were used, respectively. From a IAI stacked film with 12nm-thick Ag, sheet resistance of $6.9\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ and transmittance of above 82 % at a range of 500-550 nm wavelength were obtained. In addition, structural and surface properties of IAI stacked films were analyzed by XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM (scanning electron microscopy), respectively. Moreover, IAI stacked films showed dramatically improved mechanical properties when subjected to bending both as a function of number of cycles to a fixed radius. Finally, OLEDs fabricated on both flexible IAI stacked anode and conventional ITO/Glass were fabricated and, J-V-L characteristics of those OLEDs were compared by Keithley 2400.

This study aims to present primary data for habitat restoration and artificial breeding conditions of L. unmunsana by identifying the habitat conditions and the larvae's food sources. In order to investigate the habitat characteristics of the adult L. unmunsana and land snails, which are the primary food sources for the larvae, field surveys were conducted on a total of 10 habitats in south-central parts of Korea including Sanseongcheon, Jeonju. The results revealed that the L. unmunsana habitat in the Sanseongcheon area had a broadleaf forest with a multi-layered vegetation structure, adjacent water features, and the north/northeast/northwest slopes with little effect of artificial lighting. The adult L. unmunsana in the Sanseongcheon area appeared from the end of May to the end of June, and was especially intensively observed around the middle of June. The most active time was from 23:30 to 00:30 with a temperature range of 19~22℃ and higher than 80% humidity. The peak count of the observed adults L. unmunsana was a total of 774 on June 11, 2021. In the case of land snails, 11 families and 23 species were observed in 10 habitats of L. unmunsana, and Euphaedusa fusaniana was the most extensive and the most observed in the five survey areas. The land snails of L. unmunsana habitats are mostly found under the organic layers of leaves and a fallen tree branch in broadleaf forests, where a thick organic material layer buffers temperature changes and provides high humidity for various snails. These habitat conditions are suitable for the larva of L. unmunsana and land snails to inhabit, feed, hide and hibernate.

Roll-to-Roll printing process has become a great issue as a breakthrough for low cost and mass production of electronic devices such as organic thin film transistor, and etc. To print the electronic devices, multi-layer printing is essential, and high precision register control is required for this process. Unlike stop-and-repeat printing process, it is impossible to control the register in a static state since the roll-to-roll process is a continuous system. Therefore, the behavior of web such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyimide (PI) by the tensile and thermal stress generated in the roll-to-roll process as well as motor control of driven rolls has to be considered for a high precision register control. In this study, the correlation between curing temperature and thermal deformation of PET web is analyzed. Finally, it is verified experimentally that the temperature disturbance generates the more serious register error under the higher curing temperature.

The world gross market of many kinds of electronics, such as TV and mobile phone has been increasing rapidly these days. It is mainly caused by the amazing developments of IT technology during past decade and the changes of individual life style for the better. Thanks to the increases of electronics manufactured in quantity, much more electronic components such as MLCC (multi layer ceramic capacitor) and PCB (printed circuit board), which are our main products, have been needed as a consequence. Though it was reported that total market of electronic components exceeds several hundreds of billion dollars, there are many manufactures struggling for survival in the competition of electronics components. Then the recognition of quality as a key technology has spread and the efforts for high-yield production lines have been kept in many companies. In this paper, our efforts to eliminate the contamination of particles and the diffusion of some volatile organic compounds which is very harmful to workers at production line have been introduced.
