  • Consider a job shop that is modelled as an open queueing network of the Jackson(l957) type. All work stations in the shop have the same number of parallel servers. Two problems are studied : the loading of stations and the assignment of servers, which are represented by loading and assingment vectors, respectively. Ma jorization and arrangement orderings are established to order, respectively, the loading and the assignment vectors. It is shown that reducing the loading vector under ma jorizat ion or increasing the assignment vector under arrangement ordering will reduce the congestion in the shop in terms of reducing the total number of jobs(in the sense of likelihood ratio ordering), the maximum queue length(in the sense of stochastic ordering), and the queue-length vector( in the sense of stochastic majorization). The results can be used to supprot production planning in certain job shops, and to aid the desing of storage capacity. • Using spin-polarized density-functional theory calculations, we find that the existence of either Peierls instability or antiferromagnetic spin ordering is sensitive to hydrogen passivation near the step. As hydrogens are covered on the terrace, the dangling bond electrons are localized at the step, leading to step-induced states. We investigate the competition between charge and spin orderings in dangling-bond (DB) wires of increasing lengths fabricated on an H-terminated vicinal Si(001) surface. We find antiferromagnetic (AF) ordering to be energetically much more favorable than charge ordering. The energy preference of AF ordering shrinks in an oscillatory way as the wire length increases. This oscillatory behavior can be interpreted in terms of quantum size effects as the DB electrons fill discrete quantum levels.

  • High-crystallinity poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) thin films were prepared by aging the precursor solutions, prepared using a good solvent, chloroform, at low temperatures prior to spin-casting. Lower solution temperatures significantly improved the molecular ordering in the spin-cast P3HT films and, therefore, the electrical properties of field-effect transistors prepared using these films. Solution cooling enhanced the electrical properties by shifting the P3HT configuration equilibrium away from random coils and toward more ordered aggregates. At room temperature, the P3HT molecules were completely solvated in chloroform and adopted a random coil conformation. Upon cooling, however, the chloroform poorly solvated the P3HT molecules, favoring the formation of ordered P3HT aggregates, which then yielded more highly crystalline molecular ordering in the P3HT thin films produced from the solution.

  • A vector timestamp is used to satisfy message ordering in a group communications. In this paper, we propose a new vector timestamp compression method which is applicable to a single process group environment where one process belongs to only one precess group. An existing compression method compares the fields of the previously sent vector timestamp with thouse of the currently updated vector timestamp, then sends only the modified fields of the vector timestamp. Unlike the previous one, a proposed compression method performs individual compression for each process using the locally maintained vector timestamp information on other processes. Also, we logicallyproved the causal ordering algorithm using the new compression method and compared the performance of the proposed method with one of the previous compression method by computer simulation. Using the proposed compression method, the message overhead required for causal ordering can be reduced.

  • In this paper, we propose a new smart ordering application system for granting the customer numbers. The proposed system assigns sequence number of customers who visit at offline store as using speaker and microphone of smart device. This system has more advantage than the existing ordering system. Because the proposed system does not need any customer information like as phone number or SNS ID, it can protect customer privacy information. In this system, we use high frequency which is inaudible to the human ear as communication signal between speaker and microphone. To confirm performance evaluation, we perform a test with ten smart devices like as iPhone 6, 7, 8, Galaxy s8 and the result shown a success rate of 98.7 percent. Therefore, the proposed system can be useful service technology at the various offline store which need to assign a sequence number for customers, because many customers visit at the store.

  • The concept of a "switching language " between different indexing languages and information retrieval systems has been discussed since the mid-1960s. Some preliminary investigates into the feasibility of switching between mediating tool yielded positive results. The Broad system of ordering(BSO) , a general classification scheme for information exchange and switching, has been under development as a joint FID/UNESCO project since 1973. The purpose of this study is to find out the origin, development, definition, and principle of BSO. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: (1) BSO is a switching language for the purpose of interconnection of information system which is located different regions, or using different indexing languages. (2) BSO is in effect, fully faceted and broad classification system. (3) BSO is not only a subject code but also an ordering system. (4) BSO can be used information retrieval system because the notation of composite subjects is formed by combining notation. (5) BSO has to some extent sacrificed brevity by leaving large unused notational gap for future use. (6) The structure of the scheme is in no way dependent upon the notation. notation.

  • This paper presents a method of constructing the multiple-valued combinational logic systems(MVCLS) by decision diagram. The switching function truth table of MVCLS is transformed into canonical normal form of sum-of-products(SOP) with literals at first. Next, the canonical normal form of SOP is transfered into multiple-valued logic decision diagram(MVLDD). The selecting of variable ordering is very important in this stage. The MVLDDs are quite different from each other according to the variable ordering. Sometimes the inadequate variable ordering produces a very large size of MVLDD means the large size of circuit implementation. An algorithm for generating the proper variable ordering produce minimal MVLDD and an example shows the verity of the algorithm. The circuits are realized with T-gate acceording to the minimal MVLDD.

  • We have studied the effect of sintering temperature and time on the cation ordering and second phase formation in Ba(Mg/sub 1/3/Nb/sub 2/3/)O₃(BMN) microwave ceramics by using transmission electron microscopy. The relationship between the structural-chemical behavior arid microwave dielectric properties has also been investigated. It is revealed that according to the sintering conditions the BMN ceramics show very diverse local ordering behavior, such as the development of domain twinning and "core-shell"-structured grains and the formation of local disordered domains, though having 1 : 2 cation ordering structure basically. The disordered structure is found in Mg-excess region. Such local chemical variation seems to be caused by the formation of BaNb₂O/sub 6/-like second phase in its neigh-boring grain boundary. The microwave dielectric quality factor of the ceramics decreases greatly with the increase of the structural-chemical inhomogeneity and diversity.

  • Construction Technology Service is currently hardly managed due to failure to offer standard management system of service performance, company performance, and business evaluation in every Ordering Agencies. After Construction Technology Promotion Act is enforced in May 2014, Ordering Agency obligates them to report to Minister of Land and Transportation within 10 days upon contract/ amendment/ completion. In 2013, in advance to enforcement of this law, performance management system for construction technology service was developed for a test run. However this system only applies to main contractors while management and operation of subcontractors are unavailable that causes problems on connection and integration with Experience Management Trustee. Therefore, this research will establish systematic foundation that enables real-time information of service performance and evaluation of subcontractors to result standardization of performance and evaluation for public ordered services.

  • For fast Cholesky factorization, it is most important to reduce the number of non-zero elements by ordering methods. Minimum deficiency ordering produces less non-zero elements. However, since it is very slow. the minimum degree algorithm is widely used. To improve the computation time, Rothberg's AMF uses an approximate deficiency instead of computing the deficiency. In this paper we present simple efficient methods to obtain a good approximate deficiency using information related to cliques. Experimental results show that our proposed method produces better ordering quality than that of AMF.
