A NEW EXTENSION OF BESSEL FUNCTION

  • In this paper, we propose an extension of the classical Bessel function by means of our ℓ-hypergeometric function [2]. As the main results, the infinite order differential equation, the generating function relation, and contour integral representations including Schläfli's integral analogue are derived. With the aid of these, other results including some inequalities are also obtained. At the end, the graphs of these functions are plotted using the Maple software.

Sequential Causal Analyses of Exchange Party's Characteristic, Exchange Relation Perception, Relationship Quality and Behavioral Intention : Customer's Perspective (교환당사자의 특성, 교환관계 지각, 관계품질 및 행동의도의 순차적 인과관계 : 미용서비스 이용고객의 관점에서)

  • The research for exchange relationship in customer's perspective is meaningful especially in service, considering distinctive characteristics of service operations such as customer participation in the process whereas most of the recent related researches have been focused on employee's interaction with organization, leader, team and customer. In this study for beauty art service, the exchange party's characteristic is defined with beauty salon's reputation, staff's professionalism and customer's self-esteem. Also the exchange relation perception is classified into symbolism and interaction, Then the directional relations on customer's perspective are empirically investigated in the sequential order of the exchange party's characteristics, the exchange relation perception, the relationship quality and behavioral intention. In addition, the study examined the meditation effect via relationship quality between the exchange relation perception and the behavioral intention. Followings are confirmed from the statistical test with structural equation modelling:Symbolism is significantly caused by all of professionalism, reputation and self-esteem in the descending order of effect size whereas interaction is significantly influenced by only professionalism. The exchange relation perception has significant effect on the relationship quality, in turn which significantly affects behavioral intention. The exchange relation perception shows the significant indirect effect meditated by relationship quality and the insignificant direct effect on behavioral intention. This paper concludes with contribution of this study, managerial implication of the research findings and further research issues.

Experiences and Process of Patients' Healing Relation with Nurses (환자-간호사간의 치유적 관계형성 경험과 과정)

  • The purpose of this study is to know experiences and process of patients' healing relation with nurses. This study had been conducted from July to September in 1994. The subjects were 7 patients who had hospitalized within 10 days at general surgery unit in C university hospital. The data were collected through in-depth interview and observation on the basis of Grounded Theory. In-depth interview were performed 3-6 times for each patient and taken 10-15 minutes at once. The result were as follows : (1) The main concepts are worry to operation, worry to hospital environment, worry to their children, worry to nurses, general appraisal, appraisal of appearance, appraisal of attitude, appraisal of nurses' response, appraisal of nurses' help, interest to patients, appraisal of explanation, appraisal of direct nursing, appraisal of nursing role, appraisal of nursing fairness, empathy, feeling of jung, discontent exposure, content, rapport. (Jung is a unique feeling that appeared in only korean culture) (2) The main categories are worry, general appraisal, concrete appraisal, empathy, and rapport. (3) These process is worry, appraisal, empathy, and rapport in the order. (4) The core category is the need of relation formation. The hospitalized patients have had need of relation formation with nurses. In order to satisfy this need, patients in the early of hospitalization had the worries to nurses, hospital environment, their children and themselves. The more patients have information about themselves, the more they have worries. In addition to, patients have general appraisal through the first impression or feeling to nurses. A time goes by, general appraisal has changed concrete appraisal. High educated group (above bachelor degree) have expressed concretely and variousely their needs. The patients who have empathy to nurses are content with nurses and form rapport to be shown frankly thier discontents. Therefore, patients' healing relation formation is the process of being filled up the need of relation formaton with Nurses. As mentioned above, researcher suggests that nurses need study nursing strategies to make earlier the last phase of the healing relation formation, rapport.

A study on the relation between stationarity and synthesized images for GMRF (GMRF 모델의 안정성과 합성 영상과의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • Markov random field models have extensively used in applications such as image segmentation and image restoration. In this paper, we consider the relation between the stationarity of parameters and the synthesized images for gauss-markov rnadom field which has the most popularly used among many MRF models. GMRF model, which is both wide-sense Markov and strict-sense markov, has AR representations and is also a kind of gibbs distribution. Therefore, we may approach in aspect of both AR models and gibbs models. We show the relation between the stationarity of parameters and the images which are synthesized by two approaching methods and derive the stationary regions of parameters in 1st order and isotropic 2nd order case.

  • The aim in this note is to describe some classes of rings in relation to factorization by prime radical, upper nilradical, and Jacobson radical. We introduce the concepts of tpr ring, tunr ring, and tjr ring in the process, respectively. Their ring theoretical structures are investigated in relation to various sorts of factor rings and extensions. We also study the structure of noncommutative tpr (tunr, tjr) rings of minimal order, which can be a base of constructing examples of various ring structures. Various sorts of structures of known examples are studied in relation with the topics of this note.

  • In this paper, we propose a new semi-analytic approach based on the generalized Taylor series for solving nonlinear differential equations of fractional order. Assuming the solution is expanded as the generalized Taylor series, the coefficients of the series can be computed by solving the corresponding recursive relation of the coefficients which is generated by the given problem. This method is called the generalized differential transform method(GDTM). In several literatures the standard GDTM was applied in each sub-domain to obtain an accurate approximation. As noticed in [19], however, a direct application of the GDTM in each sub-domain loses a term of memory which causes an inaccurate approximation. In this work, we derive a new recursive relation of the coefficients that reflects an effect of memory. Several illustrative examples are demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed method. It is shown that the proposed method is robust and accurate for solving nonlinear differential equations of fractional order.

C]RASH ANALYSIS OF AUTO-BODY STRUCTURES CONSIDERING THE STRAIN-RATE HARDENING EFFECT

  • The crashworthiness of vehicles with finite element methods depends on the geometry modeling and the material properties. The vehicle body structures are generally composed of various members such as frames, stamped panels and deep-drawn parts from sheet metals. In order to ensure the impact characteristics of auto-body structures, the dynamic behavior of sheet metals must be examined to provide the appropriate constitutive relation. In this paper, high strain-rate tensile tests have been carried out with a tension type split Hopkinson bar apparatus specially designed for sheet metals. Experimental results from both static and dynamic tests with the tension split Hopkinson bar apparatus are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook and a modified Johnson-Cook equation as the constitutive relation, that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of auto-body structures. Simulation of auto-body structures has been carried out with an elasto-plastic finite element method with explicit time integration. The stress integration scheme with the plastic predictor-elastic corrector method is adopted in order to accurately keep track of the stress-strain relation for the rate-dependent model accurately. The crashworthiness of the structure with quasi-static constitutive relation is compared to the one with the rate-dependent constitutive model. Numerical simulation has been carried out for frontal frames and a hood of an automobile. Deformed shapes and the Impact energy absorption of the structure are investigated with the variation of the strain rate.

The Moderating Effect of Children's Verbal Ability in the Relation Between a Child's Shyness and Teacher-Child Relationships in Kindergarten (유아의 수줍음과 교사-유아 관계 간의 관계에 대한 유아 언어능력의 조절효과)

  • Objective: The purpose of the present study was to explore the moderating role of children's verbal ability in the relation between shyness and teacher-child relationships. Methods: Participants were 200 children, their mothers, and their kindergarten teachers. Children's shyness was rated by their mothers and teachers, and children's verbal ability was measured using the language problem solving ability test. And teachers completed a rating scale in order to examine the teacher-child relationship. The collected data were analyzed using correlations and hierarchical multiple regressions. Results: Children's shyness had a negative relation to close teacher-child relationships. And child's verbal ability was significantly related to teacher-child relationships. Hierachical regression analysis indicted to the interaction of child's shyness and verbal ability predicted close teacher-child relationships. Children's shyness, those who demonstrated the lowest level of child's verbal ability, was significantly associated with close teacher-child relationships. Children's shyness had no significant relation to close teacher-child relationships, especially for the highest level of children's verbal ability. Conclusion/Implications: We suggested that verbal ability training for children might be valuable for shy children in order to buffer the link between shyness and teacher-child relationships.

SMBH Mass Estimate Discrepancy and Its Origin of NGC 6861

  • NGC 6861 is the brightest S0 galaxy in the Telescopium group. It has unusually high central stellar velocity dispersion (~400 km/s) and clear rotation (~250 km/s). Considering the well-known M-sigma relation, this large central dispersion implies that the central supermassive black hole (SMBH) has mass comparable to the most massive black holes in the Universe. However, the mass implied by the bulge luminosity-SMBH mass relation is an order of magnitude lower than that predicted by the M-sigma relation. In order to determine the origin of this inconsistency, we obtain integral field spectroscopy using the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS) on the ANU 2.3m telescope. The data are used to map the velocity and velocity dispersion fields which show that our measurements are consistent with those from the other literature. The large field of view the WiFeS observations have allows us to map the kinematics of a much greater portion of NGC 6861 and reveals that the eastern part of the galaxy has higher velocity and dispersion than the rest of halo. We discuss the origin of the unusual fast rotation and the discrepancy of two SMBH mass estimations from three plausible perspectives: 1) the interaction between subgroups of NGC 6861 and its counterpart, NGC 6868; 2) the inhibited growth of the stellar bulge by the AGN activity which leads to an underestimate the SMBH mass when using the bulge luminosity-SMBH mass relation; and 3) gas rich minor mergers that could be crucial for increasing both rotation velocity and velocity dispersion during the evolution of NGC 6861.
