The purpose of this study was to compare microleakage and marginal hybrid layer in class V restorations using two one-bottle adhesives and one self-etching adhesive. Class V cavity preparations with occlusal margins in enamel and gingival margins in dentin were pre-pared on buccal and lingual surfaces of 30 extracted human molar teeth. Prepared teeth were randomly divided into three treatment groups (n=30) and restored with three adhesives and composites: Single Bond/Filtek Z-250 (Group 1), Prime&BondNT/Esthet.X (Group 2), UniFil Bond/UniFil F (Group 3). For microleakage, samples were stored in room temperature water for 24 hours, thermocycled stained with 2% methylene blue dye, sectioned into halves, scored and analysed using Mann-whitney test and Wilcoxon signed rank sum test. For marginal hybrid layer, samples were sectioned into halves, treated with 10% phosphoric acid for 5 seconds, stored in 5% NaOCL solution for 24 hours, dried and gold coated. Occlusal and gingival margins of each sample were inspected under SEM. The results of this study were as follows ; 1. Microleakage at the occlusal margins was not evident in group 1 and group 2, but it showed in group 3 (p<0.05). 2. Microleakage in group 1 and group 3 was significantly lower than in group 2 at gingival margins (p<0.05). 3. Microleakage at gingival margins was greater than at occlusal margins in group 1 and group 2, but microleakage at occlusal margins was greater than at gingival margins in group 3 (p<0.05). 4. In group 1 and group 2, no gaps at occlusal margins showed. But gaps showed in group 3. Occlusal margins were free from a hybrid layer in all groups 5. The thickness of the marginal hybrid layers was 2.5~5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ thick in group 5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ thick in group 2 and 1.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$ thick in group 3. 6 There was no corelation between microleakage and thickness of marginal hybrid layer. In coclusion, the effect of dentin adhesives on microleakge in class V composite restorations was excellent when one-bottle adhesives were applied on enamel margin, and it was good when a self-etching adhesive was applied on dentinal margin. There was no corelation between microleakage and thickness of marginal hybrid layer.
Purpose: This study evaluated the surface characteristics and bond strength produced using a novel technique for coating hydroxyapatite (HA) onto titanium implants. Methods: HA was coated on the titanium implant surface using a super-high-speed (SHS) blasting method with highly purified HA. The coating was performed at a low temperature, unlike conventional HA coating methods. Coating thickness was measured. The novel HA-coated disc was fabricated. X-ray diffraction analysis was performed directly on the disc to evaluate crystallinity. Four novel HA-coated discs and four resorbable blast medium (RBM) discs were prepared. Their surface roughnesses and areas were measured. Five puretitanium, RBM-treated, and novel HA-coated discs were prepared. Contact angle was measured. Two-way analysis of variance and the post-hoc Scheffe's test were used to analyze differences between the groups, with those with a probability of P<0.05 considered to be statistically significant. To evaluate exfoliation of the coating layer, 7 sites on the mandibles from 7 mongrel dogs were used. Other sites were used for another research project. In total, seven novel HA-coated implants were placed 2 months after extraction of premolars according to the manufacturer's instructions. The dogs were sacrificed 8 weeks after implant surgery. Implants were removed using a ratchet driver. The surface of the retrieved implants was evaluated microscopically. Results: A uniform HA coating layer was formed on the titanium implants with no deformation of the RBM titanium surface microtexture when an SHS blasting method was used. Conclusions: These HA-coated implants exhibited increased roughness, crystallinity, and wettability when compared with RBM implants.

This study Investigated the effects of $estradiol-l7{\beta} (E_2)$, $17{\alpha}-methyltestosterone$ (MT) and high temperature (WT) on gonadal sex differentiation in black rockfish, Sebastes srhlegeli. fish were reared to oral adminstration of E, at nominal concentrations of $20, 40 and 60 {\mu}g/g diet$, and MT at nominal concentration of 20 and $50 {\mu}g/g$ diet from 56 days to 77 days after parturition. In the treatment of WT, water temperature of the breeding tanks ranged $27.0{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$ more than $10^{\circ}C$ approximately, in comparison to the control and other experimental group, In the process of sex differentiation until 56 days after parturition, gonads were composed of mostly gonia cells, sexually undifferentiated. In contrast, 128 dal's after parturition, the ovaries were composed of ovarian cavity and lamellae, and oogonia and perinucleolus oocytes were distributed in the lamellae of ovary, and the testes were composed of a number of seminiferous tubule, and spermatogonia were distributed in the seminiferous tubule, and also melanophore scattered in the matrix layer of testis. In the sex ratio, more females than male were observed from $E_2$. treatment groups when compared to the control, but more males than females were observed from MT and WT treatment groups when compared to the control. In the results of the present study, the concentration and kinds of the sex steroid hormones, and also the rearing high temperature caused to the factor of sex determination in the process of sex differentiation of black rockfish.
The general pharmacological properties of YJA20379-1 2-dimethylamino-4,5-dihydrothiazolo[4,5:3,4]pyridol[1,2-a]benzoimidazole, a novel proton pump inhibitor with antiulcer activities were investigated in mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits. YJA20379-2 at oral doses of 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg did not affect the general behaviour, hexobarbital hypnosis and motor coordination in mice. The drug did not have analgesic or anticonvulsant action at 200 mg/kg. Locomotor activity and body temperature were not influenced at 100 mg/kg. At a concentration up to 2{\times}10^{-4} g/ml$, YJA20379-2 did not produce any contraction or relaxation of isolated preparations, such as the rat fundus, the guinea pig ileum and the rat uterus, and did not antagonize the contractile response to several spasmogens, such as histamine, acetylcholine, serotonin and oxytocin. At dosages up to 200 mg/kg p.o. YJA20379-2 did not affect the pupil size of mice. Intestinal propulsion of mice was not affected up to 200 mg/kg p.o. and the drug did not affect urinary excretion at 100 mg/kg p.o. These results indicate that at dosages up to 100 gm/kg p.o. YJA20379-2 was found not to affect this pharmacological profile. However, at 200 mg/kg the drug lowered body temperature and showed decreased in locomotor activity and urine volume.

Low temperature atmospheric pressure plasmas (APPs) have been known to be effective for living cell inactivation in the water [1]. Many earlier research found that pH level of the solution was changed from neutral to acidic after plasma treatment. The importance of the effect of acidity of the solution for cell treatments has already been reported by many experiments. In addition, several studies have demonstrated that the addition of a small amount of oxygen to pure helium results in higher sterilization efficiency of APPs [2]. However, it is not clear yet which species are key factors for the cell treatment. To find key factors, we used GMoo simulation. We elucidate the processes through which pH level in the solution is changed from neutral to acidic after plasma exposure and key components with pH and air variation with using GMoo simulation. First, pH level in a liquid solution is changed by He+ and He(21S) radicals. Second, O3 density decreases as pH level in the solution decreases and air concentration decreases. It can be a method of removing O3 that cause chest pain and damage lung tissue when the density is very high. H2O2, HO2 and NO radicals are found to be key factors for cell inactivation in the solution with pH and air variation.
Objectives: This study was designed to investigate characteristics of digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) and quantitative evaluations in patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS). Methods: We reviewed the clinical records of 38 patients with BMS who visited the Oral Diseases Clinic of Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital from March 1st, 2018 to June 30th, 2018. The subjects were evaluated with digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) and for heart rate variability (HRV), unstimulated salivary flow rate (USFR), and the proportion of coated tongue. Results: Most patients showed higher temperatures on the central part of the tongue (T2) than on the middle of the forehead (T1). The patients tended to have a high Low frequency/High frequency (LF/HF) ratio. Statistically significant negative correlations were noted between the age of patients and the temperature of T1 and T2. Statistically significant negative correlations were also observed between the LF/HF ratio and 'T1-T2' values. Conclusions: This study suggests that DITI and HRV are useful for the validation of patients with BMS. Correlations between the result values suggest that sympathetic function acceleration is related to temperature distribution and, ultimately, to symptoms.
The pathogenicity of the fish nodavirus causing viral nervous necrosis (VNN) of sevenband grouper, Epinephelus septemfasciatus was examined in sevenband grouper and other marine fish by intramuscular injection. Sevenband groupers of 27~104 g in body weight were highly susceptible to the fish nodavirus, but yellowtail (537 g in body weight), red seabream (207 g), rock bream (43 g), flounder (41 g), tiger puffer (27 g) and rockfish (94 g) of the sizes used to this experiment were not. The pathogenicity of the viral agent to the sevenband grouper was high without regard to fish sizes at rearing water temperature over $20^{\circ}C$, but not at $15^{\circ}C$. Therefore, susceptibility of sevenband grouper to the viral agent causing VNN was thought to be water temperature-dependent rather than fish size (age-dependent). Compared to the infectivity of the viral agent to sevenband grouper with artificial infection methods, fish were successfully affected by intramuscular, intraperitoneal, oral, dipping and cohabitation administrations although there were slight differences in mortalities among infection methods. And survival sevenband grouper after infection with the fish nodavirus was resistant to the reinfection for a long time.
Oral drug delivery system using pectin gel was developed for colon-targeting of peptide drug. BSA(bovine serum albumin)-loaded pectin and pectin-alginate beads were prepared for drug release properties in vitro. Morphological studies by electron microscopy indicated that pectin and pectin-alginate beads were spherical in shape and approximately 1.0 mm. In order to find the suitable beads, effects of cross-linking agents (calcium chloride or zinc acetate) and drying temperature of beads were investigated. Drug release decreased with concentration of cross-linking agents and drying temperature. For colonic drug delivery from pectin and pectin-alginate beads, pectin degradable enzymes were added at 5 hrs from the beginning of drug release. After addition of enzymes, drug release was suddenly increased against free enzymes. Therefore, pectin and pectin-alginate beads can be promised as useful drug release carriers for colon-targeted delivery.
This study was conducted to investigate the pathogenicity and acute single toxicity of Lactobacillus spp. PSC101 (PSC101) isolated from pigs and L. acidophilus (LA) at 2.5$\times$$10^9$CFU or 2.5$\times$$10^{12}$colony forming units (CFU) in mice for 14 days. After oral administration of the bacteria into mice, we could not find their any specific pathogenicity from the standpoints of clinical signs, and changes in body weight and body temperature, as compared with the control group during 14 days. We further investigated the toxicity of concentrated culture broth ($\times$10) after fermentation of them for safe industrial process. As the results, we could not find any clinical signs, changes in body weight and body temperature, as compared with the control group (MRS broth) for 14 days. The results obtained in this study suggest that the potentially probiotic, PSC101, is non-toxic in mice and is therefore likely to be safe for pig use.
