Bayesian Method on Sequential Preventive Maintenance Problem

  • This paper develops a Bayesian method to derive the optimal sequential preventive maintenance(PM) policy by determining the PM schedules which minimize the mean cost rate. Such PM schedules are derived based on a general sequential imperfect PM model proposed by Lin, Zuo and Yam(2000) and may have unequal length of PM intervals. To apply the Bayesian approach in this problem, we assume that the failure times follow a Weibull distribution and consider some appropriate prior distributions for the scale and shape parameters of the Weibull model. The solution is proved to be finite and unique under some mild conditions. Numerical examples for the proposed optimal sequential PM policy are presented for illustrative purposes.

공조설비 운전방법 및 시설개선을 통한 에너지절약 효과분석 (An Analysis of the Energy Saving Effect Through the Retrofit and the Optimal Operation for HVAC Systems)

  • The major goal of building energy management is to minimize the energy consumption while maintaining the comfortable environment condition. Nowadays building energy management to save HVAC energy and so on is the most critical issue for existing building service branch with high efficiency equipments and their optimal operation. The effects on the building energy savings of the building equipment retrofit and the improvement of its operation method, especially in the field of HVAC system, were analyzed in this study for domestic small and/or medium sized buildings. Over 8.8% of energy saving was achieved compared withe total energy consumption in commercial building. These results could be used for reasonable maintenance and efficient management of the various building service equipments and related systems.

  • Delay time analysis is a pragmatic mathematical concept readily embraced by engineers which has been developed as a means to model maintenance decision problem. This paper considers an inspection period using delay time analysis for fishing vessel equipment. We assume that delay time has a Weibull distribution. In this paper, we determine the optimal inspection period which minimize the expected downtime per unit time. Explicit solutions for the optimal inspection are presented for illustrative purposes.

  • 본 연구에서는 고등해석과 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 트러스 구조물의 최적설계를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 고등해석은 기하학적 비선형과 재료적 비선형을 동시에 고려한다. 최적화 알고리즘으로 마이크로 유전자 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 목적함수로 구조물의 중량을 사용하였으며, 제약조건식은 구조시스템의 하중-저항능력 및 변위 조건을 고려하였다. 제안된 방법에 의한 최적설계 결과를 기존의 연구결과와 비교하여 그 타당성을 증명하였다.

공공임대주택 구성재의 적정 수선주기 산정 연구 (Establishment of the Optimal Repair Cycle of the Components of the Rental Housing)

  • A rental housing has a key role to supply the living space to non-ownership. A public rental housing is particularly aimed at providing the living space for the low-income households with a low rent fee. Therefore, the local government would try to maintain the facilities of the rental housing and to get the decent living condition. For getting the required living condition, it should make a maintenance plan, which contains the repair time, repair scope and targeted component and finishings. This study is aimed at providing the optimal repair time in 12 components and components of the rental housing which is controlled by the local government. The optimal repair time has two steps to get the final result. First, it would draw the 1'st repair time with the probabilistic and empirical approach. Second, comparing the drawn data and the service life, the optima repair time would be provided with considering the components' attributes. Result are as follows : First, the optimal repair time would be considered with the component attributes. There are user's convenience, its safety and physical aspect. Second, the kitchen utensils, elevator and water tap has a optimal time of 16, 19, 17 years respectively which is considered with physical aspect. In addition, the optima repair time of the wiring appliance and lighting equipment are 12 years and 10 years respectively.

외부 프리스트레싱을 이용한 RC 중공슬래브교의 최적보강 (Optimal Strengthening in RC Hollow Slab Bridges Using External Prestressing)

  • 본 연구에서는 RC 중공슬래브 교량의 내하력을 향상시키기 위해 외부 프리스트레싱을 이용한 보강방법을 제시하였다. 효과적인 보강을 위해 Queen-post 형식과 King-post 형식이 고려되었으며, 축차무제 약 최소화 기법(SUMT)를 이용하여 목표 내하율을 달성하기 위한 최적의 형상과 긴장력을 구하였다. 최적보강을 위한 목적함수는 재료비용을 무차원화한 비용함수로 구성하였으며, 제약조건은 시방서 규정과 내하율을 고려하여 형성하였다. RC 중공슬래브 교량의 보강을 실행한 후 그 결과를 분석하여 제안된 방법의 타당성을 제시하였다.

정비 데이터를 이용한 기만체계 신뢰도 분석 (Reliability Analysis for Decoy using Maintenance Data)

  • 방어용 무기체계 중 하나인 기만체계는 소모성 방식으로, One-shot system에 해당된다. 주기적 점검을 통해 신뢰도를 유지하며, 발사를 해보아야 정상 작동여부를 확인할 수 있어 고신뢰도가 요구된다. 본 논문에서 분석하고자 하는 기만체계는 개발 시 목표 신뢰도 설정 및 신뢰도 예측 없이 정비주기가 설정되었다. 그러나 현재 군에서 운용 중인 수량이 점점 증가하여 정비주기 최적화 필요성이 대두되었다. 이에 따라 수십 년간 지속적으로 운용된 기만체계의 정비 데이터를 통하여 신뢰도를 분석하고 최적 정비주기를 제시하였다. 2장에서 신뢰도 분석에 사용된 데이터 수집 및 분류방법을 제시하였으며, 분석 방법론에 대해 간략하게 소개하였다. 이를 토대로 3장에서 데이터에 대한 분포 분석 및 적합도 검증을 통해 본 기만체계 정비 데이터는 와이블 분포를 적용 하는 것이 가장 적합함을 확인하였으며, 와이블 분포의 형상 및 척도모수를 추정하였다. 4장에서는 도출된 분포를 통해 백분위수, 생존확률, MTBF 분석결과를 제시하였다. 또한 시간별 신뢰도 분석결과를 통해 적정 정비주기를 도출하였다. 5장 결론에서는 향후 본 연구결과에 대한 향후 활용방안을 제시하였다.

배전계통 기기 유지보수를 위한 RCM 모델 (Reliability-Centered Maintenance Model for Maintenance of Electric Power Distribution System Equipment)

  • With the implementation of electric power industry reform, the utilities are looking for effective ways to improve the economic efficiency. One area in particular, the equipment maintenance, is being scrutinized for reducing costs while keeping a reasonable level of the reliability in the overall system. Here the conventional RCM requires the tradeoff between the upfront maintenance costs and the potential costs of losing loads. In this paper we describe the issues related to applying so-called the "Reliability-centered Maintenance" (RCM) method in managing electric power distribution equipment. The RCM method is especially useful as it explicitly incorporates the cost-tradeoff of interest, i.e. the upfront maintenance costs and the potential interruption costs, in determining which equipment to be maintained and how often. In comparison, the "Time-based Maintenance" (TBM) method, the traditional method widely used, only takes the lifetime of equipment into consideration. In this paper, the modified Markov model for maintenance is developed. First, the existing Markov model for maintenance is explained and analyzed about transformer and circuit breaker, so on. Second, developed model is introduced and described. This model has two different points compared with existing model: TVFR and nonlinear customer interruption cost (CIC). That is, normal stage at the middle of bathtub curve has not CFR but the gradual increasing failure rate and the unit cost of CIC is increasing as the interruption time is increasing. The results of case studies represent the optimal maintenance interval to maintain the equipment with minimum costs. A numerical example is presented for illustration purposes.

Ordering Policy for Planned Maintenance with Salvage Value

  • A spare ordering policy is considered for planned maintenance. Introducing the ordering, uptime, downtime, inventory costs and salvage value, we derive the expected cost effectiveness. The problem is to determine jointly the ordering time for a spare and the preventive replacement time for the operating unit which maximize the expected cost effectiveness. Some properties regarding the optimal policy are derived, and a numerical example is included to explain the proposed model.

  • Wu and Clements-Croome (2005) investigate the optimization problem of PM policies for situations where the quality of PM is a random variable with a certain probability distribution. However, they assume that the cost of preventive maintenance is constant, not depending on the quality of PM. Thus, this paper considers a periodic PM model when PM cost depends on the quality of PM activity. The optimal PM policy are presented for the extended PM model and the numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.
