40keV 저에너지 전자빔을 이용한 단결정 Si 태양전지의 변환 효율에 관한 연구 (Study about Conversion Efficiency of c-Si Solar Cells Using Low energy(40keV) Electron Beam)

  • This paper about the small electron beam irradiator for solar cell's efficiency. Many things are studied by method to increase conversion efficiency of solar cell. We selected electron beam by method for conversion efficiency of solar cell. Energy bands of this electron beam irradiator is 80keV(max.). And, solar cells that apply in this paper are crystal Si. Average efficiency of solar cell that applies in this experiment is 10$\%$. This system manufactured low energy electron beam irradiator. And, electron beam irradiation to solar cell in vacuum chamber of this irradiator. Irradiation area is 20*20 [mm2] by 40[keV].

수용액 환경에서 수은 측정을 위한 로다민 기반의 광섬유 센서 개발 (Development of Rhodamine-Based Fiber Optic Sensor for Detection of Mercury in Aqueous Environments)

  • A Rhodamine-based fiber-optic sensor has been developed to detect mercury ions in aqueous environments. The fiber-optic sensor was composed of a mercury-sensing thin film, plastic optical fibers, and a spectrometer. The mercury-sensing thin film with the synthesized Rhodamine derivatives was fabricated with Sol-Gel process. A light emitted by a light source is guided by plastic optical fibers into the thin film in an aqueous solution and a reflected light is analyzed with the spectrometer. The experiment exhibits that an absorbance in the thin film is increased as mercury concentration is increased in the solution and the absorbance by mercury is higher than that by other heavy metals. The fiber-optic sensor exhibits high chromogenic phenomenon of mercury ions among various heavy metals and the correlation between absorbance and mercury concentration in the aqueous environments.

  • For monitoring of the civil and building structure, optical fiber sensors are very convenient. The fiber sensors are very small and do not disturb the structural properties. They also have several merits such as electro-magnetic immunity, long signal transmission, good accuracy and multiplicity of one sensor line. Strain measurement technologies with fiber optic sensors have been investigated as a part of smart structure. In this paper, we investigated the possibilities of fiber optic sensor application to the monitoring of beam-column joints of structures. We expect that the fiber optic sensors replace electrical strain gauges. The commercial electric strain gauges show good stability und dominate tile strain measurement market. However, they lack durability and long term stability for continuous monitoring of the structures. In order to apply the strain gauges, we only have to attach them to the surfaces of the structures. In this paper, we investigate the possibility of using fiber optic Bragg grating sensors to joint structure. The sensors show nice response to the structural behavior of the joint.

  • LHON은 사립체 DNA의 점돌연변이에 의해서 유발되며 11778, 3460, 14484의 세 부위가 주된 사립체 DNA 점돌연변이의 위치로 알려져 있다. 이에 저자들은 점진적인 시력 저하를 호소하면서 사립체 DNA 분석 결과 11778 점돌연변이가 확인된 LHON환자 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

광섬유 하이드로폰 배열의 수중음향 감지특성 연구 (Characteristics of Underwater Sound Detection of the Fiber Optic Hydrophone Array)

  • 저주파용 광섬유 하이드로폰을 개발하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 2 채널을 가진 TDM 방식 광섬유 하이드로폰 배역을 구성하고 이를 수조에서 음향특성 실험을 수행하였다. 150m의 광섬유를 중공 원통형 맨드릴에 감아 광섬유 하이드로폰을 제작하였으며 저주파용임을 감안하여 맨드릴의 고유진동수를 10kHz이상에 위치하도록 설계하였다. 제작된 광섬유 하이드로폰은 수중과 음향 임피던스 정합을 이루기 위하여 폴리우레탄으로 몰딩 하였다. 음향 특성을 보기 위하여 TDM 방식의 불평형 간섭계를 구성하여 수조에서 3kHz의 연속파형을 신호입력으로 실험하였다. 실험 결과 제작된 TDM 방식의 광섬유 하이드로폰은 수중에서 3kHz의 음향 신호를 안정적으로 검출함을 확인하였다. 이는 향후 다채널을 가진 광섬유 하이드로폰 배열 개발에 응용 가능성이 기대된다.

  • We have studied electro-optic characteristics of reflective $45^{\circ}$ twisted nematic liquid crystal display which implement the new LC orientation using of in-cell retarder film. For the embodiment of reflective liquid crystal display, essentially the optic compensation films was always needed and attached to the outside of glass substrate. In our study, these optic compensation film were not employed in reflective LC cell. On other hand we have employed the in-cell retarder to substitute the optic compensation film and were able to orient the LC molecules using this in-cell retarder. So we have developed the reflective LC cell that has good optical performances without any additional coating process on the in-cell retarder.

  • 두개 이상의 광학이방성 막이 중첩된 복합막의 편광특성을 분석하였다. 투과형 타원법에서 사용되는 타원상수의 표현을 이용하여 복합 위상지연막의 유효 광축과 등가 리타데이션을 결정하는 방법을 제시하였다. 막 평면 방향으로 광축은 나란하지만 위상지연의 정도가 균일하지 않은 불균일 위상지연판의 등가 리타데이션 및 유효 광축 방향을 나타내는 수학적 표현을 유도하였다. 또한 두개의 광학 이방성막이 광축이 나란하지 않게 중첩되어 있는 복합막의 등가 리타데이션 및 유효 광축 표현을 제시하고 입사광이 직선편광일 때 방위각 의존성 검토를 통해 이들을 실제로 적용할 때 마주치는 한계를 논의하였다.

Temperature Compensation of a Strain Sensing Signal from a Fiber Optic Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis Sensor

  • In order to do continuous health monitoring of large structures, it is necessary that the distributed sensing of strain and temperature of the structures be measured. So, we present the temperature compensation of a signal from a fiber optic BOTDA (Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis) sensor. A fiber optic BOTDA sensor has good performance of strain measurement. However, the signal of a fiber optic BOTDA sensor is influenced by strain and temperature. Therefore, we applied an optical fiber on the beam as follows: one part of the fiber, which is sensitive to the strain and the temperature, is bonded on the surface of the beam and another part of the fiber, which is only sensitive to the temperature, is located nearby the strain sensing fiber. Therefore, the strains can be determined from the strain sensing fiber while compensating for the temperature from the temperature sensing fiber. These measured strains were compared with the strains from electrical strain gages. After temperature compensation, it was concluded that the strains from the fiber optic BOTDA sensor had good coincidence with those values of the conventional electrical strain gages.

Geometric and Wave Optic Features in the Optical Transmission Patterns of Injection-molded Mesoscale Pyramid Prism Patterned Plates

  • In this paper, mesoscale optical surface structures are found to possess both geometric and wave optics features. The study reveals that geometric optic analysis cannot correctly predict the experimental results of light transmission or reflection by mesoscale optical structures, and that, for reliable analyses, a hybrid approach incorporating both geometric and wave optic theories should be employed. By analyzing the transmission patterns generated by the mesoscale periodic pyramid prism plates, we show that the wave optic feature is mainly ascribed to the edge diffraction effect and we estimate the relative contributions of the wave optic diffraction effect and the geometric refraction effect to the total scattering field distribution with respect to the relative dimension of the structures.

  • In this work fiber-optic biosensor that has been used in medical applications was developed. And we can monitored the concentration of glucose and lactate in blood sample by using developed fiber-optic glucose and lactate sensor. Glucose oxidase(GOD) and Lactate oxidase(LOD) were immobilized by using acrylamide adhesive and zeolite on the tip of the optic fiber.
