  • As computers can express and utilize information in a semantic dimension different from the real world, humans have opened the door to the digital world and have played a pivotal role in the transformation of the human habitual environment. Using metaverse, it can be possible to predict concepts such as virtual currency, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality, which have now become possible for practical systemic visualization. In order to implement the metaverse in the realm of technology, it requires not only a multifaceted discussion on the platform, but also research on an architect that can include the intrinsic complexity of the metaverse. In this paper, we discuss the architecture for an open metaverse platform based on convergence wrapping that can converge various contents into one space, and propose a comprehensive platform design.

Revision and Implementation of App Inventor Open Source (앱인벤터 오픈소스 수정·구현)

  • Open source software allows revising and adding a new idea on them as well as debugging themselves. The open source software can be utilized as various educational programs as well as development of a commercial software products using them. MIT App Inventor, one of the block-based visual programming environments for education, supports building a local server and even revision of the platform itself by providing its own source codes. In this paper we implement App Inventor open sources on the local server. Especially we present how to revise and implement a new App Inventor platform reflecting their own requirements in schools or educational institutes and how to build a local server operating the revised App Inventor platform. They can provide more interactive educational environments to students and improve educational satisfaction through the active customizing of the platform itself such as adding new programming block components requested by students.

  • In this study, we developed an integrated urban river data platform that collects, cleans, and provides data for urban river management. The urban river integrated data platform has the function of collecting data provided by various institutions using the Open API service. The collected data is purified through pre-processing and loaded into a database. The collected data can be reviewed and analyzed using a visualization system and provided through the Open API, so that it can be used as individual input data by combining them in the urban river model. In addition, the development system for real-time data was developed to apply real-time data to urban river models. Through this, users will be able to reduce the time and effort required for data collection, pre-processing and input data construction, thereby increasing efficiency and scalability in the development of urban river models and systems.

  • Deep learning-based applications have great potential to enhance the quality of medical services. The power of deep learning depends on open databases and innovation. Radiologists can act as important mediators between deep learning and medicine by simultaneously playing pioneering and gatekeeping roles. The application of deep learning technology in medicine is sometimes restricted by ethical or legal issues, including patient privacy and confidentiality, data ownership, and limitations in patient agreement. In this paper, we present an open platform, MI2RLNet, for sharing source code and various pre-trained weights for models to use in downstream tasks, including education, application, and transfer learning, to encourage deep learning research in radiology. In addition, we describe how to use this open platform in the GitHub environment. Our source code and models may contribute to further deep learning research in radiology, which may facilitate applications in medicine and healthcare, especially in medical imaging, in the near future. Construction of Open-source Program Platform for Efficient Numerical Analysis and Its Case Study (효율적 수치해석을 위한 오픈소스 프로그램 기반 해석 플랫폼 구축 및 사례 연구)

  • This study constructed a new simulation platform, including mesh generation process, numerical simulation, and post-processing for results analysis based on exploration data to perform real-scale numerical analysis considering the actual geological structure efficiently. To build the simulation platform, we applied for open-source programs. The source code is open to be available for code modification according to the researcher's needs and compatibility with various numerical simulation programs. First, a three-dimensional model(3D) is acquired based on the exploration data obtained using a drone. Then, the domain's mesh density was adjusted to an interpretable level using Blender, the free and open-source 3D creation suite. The next step is to create a 3D numerical model by creating a tetrahedral volume mesh inside the domain using Gmsh, a finite element mesh generation program. To use the mesh information obtained through Gmsh in a numerical simulation program, a converting process to conform to the program's mesh creation protocol is required. We applied a Python code for the procedure. After we completed the stability analysis, we have created various visualization of the study using ParaView, another open-source visualization and data analysis program. We successfully performed a preliminary stability analysis on the full-scale Dokdo model based on drone-acquired data to confirm the usefulness of the proposed platform. The proposed simulation platform in this study can be of various analysis processes in future research.

  • This paper describes an advanced unified communication system. The advanced unified communications mean a service that integrates basic communications such as call, SMS, email, and chatting with social networking service considered as a new communication channel, presenting a unified user interface. The advanced unified communication system is composed of advanced UC(Unified Communications) applications, open UC service platform, and UC back-end servers. The advanced UC applications consist of web-based application and smart phone application. The open UC service platform provides a variety of service components that enable the third party applications to access basic communications and social network services within an enterprise. The UC back-end servers provide server functionalities for call, SMS, email, and chatting.

  • In this paper, we study learning process mining and analytic technology based on open education platform. A study on mining through personal learning history log data based on an open education platform such as MOOC which is growing in interest recently. This technology is to design and implement a learning process mining framework for discovering and analyzing meaningful learning processes and knowledge from learning history log data. Learning process mining framework technology is a technique for expressing, extracting, analyzing and visualizing the learning process to provide learners with improved learning processes and educational services.

  • Current strategic trends in service distribution and software development in response to Web as a platform represent a paradoxical concurrent pursuit of 'economy of scale' and 'service'. From the software perspective, the major novel elements of the Web 2.0 era are Web as a platform and the emergence of long-tail service enabling web sites to function as an independent distribution channel. The current study analyzed the platform strategy for establishing a community of interactive developer and customers taking the issue of economy of scale into consideration. Software industry should face the new reality and utilize the open source community for cost minimization and securing customer base. Furthermore, Lego-style software development should be adopted for maintaining cost-competitiveness in customized software development.

  • IoT is emerging topic of the post-smartphone era. But IoT service is actually not easy but due to the absence of the open standard IoT service platform. In this study, We propose and implement IoT services platform using commercial SNS platform like Tweet, Facebook or YouTube. we implement the intelligent control system of the urban farm using our IoT services platform as an example. Our system can save an additional server deployment and management cost using open SNS platform like Tweet or Facebook or Youtube. In addition, there are needs to develop App. for the smartphone because we can take advantage of the user interface which is developed by global enterprises.

  • To use IoT Technology, it needs a platform to connect each devices. With this reason, Many corporations and organizations are trying to develop their own Platform. Among many platforms we select AllJoyn, IoT open source platform developed by Allseen Alliance which is association led by Qualcomm. Using AllJoyn, we transform data gathered from many communication techniques like WiFi, Zigbee and Bluetooth into AllJoyn platform format and deliver it to other AllJoyn devices. Ultimately, we realize gateway system which enables non-AllJoyn devices to communicate with AllJoyn devices.
