  • Objectives: One way to prevent deaths due to rabies is the timely utilization of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Therefore, in addition to an understanding of the epidemiological distribution of animal bites, it is necessary to explore the factors leading to delays in PEP initiation. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Iran in 2011, and included 7097 cases of animal bites recorded at the Rabies Treatment Center of the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences using the census method. Logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with delays in PEP. Results: Among the patients studied, 5387 (75.9%) were males. The prevalence of animal bites in Fars province was 154.4 per 100 000 people. Dogs were the most frequent source of exposure (67.1%), and the most common bitten part of the body was the hands (45.5%). A delay in the initiation of PEP was found among 6.8% of the studied subjects. This delay was more likely in housewives (odds ratio [OR], 4.66; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.12 to 10.23) and less likely in people with deep wounds (OR, 0.65; 95% CI, 0.43 to 0.97). Conclusions: Although all animal bite victims received complete PEP, in some cases, there were delays. Further, the type of animal involved, the depth of the bite, and the patient's occupation were the major factors associated with a delay in the initiation of PEP for rabies prevention.

  • This paper describes the design of the Register Controlled DLL(Delay-Locked Loop) that achieves fast locking and low Power consumption using a new locking algorithm. A fashion for a fast locking speed is that controls the two controller in sequence. The up/down signal due to clock skew between a internal and a external clock in phase detector, first adjusts a large phase difference in coarse controller and then adjusts a small phase difference in fine controller. A way for a low power consumption is that only operates one controller at once. Moreover the proposed DLL shows better jitter performance Because using the lock indicator circuit. The proposed DLL circuit is operated from 50MHz to 200MHz by SPICE simulation. The estimated power dissipation is 15mA at 200MHz in 3.3V operation. The locking time is within 7 cycle at all of operating frequency.

  • A stochastic modeling of combat that takes more realistic situations into account has been studied with deep concern. Either the firing strategies or network formations are very important elements in the analysis of combat. The first objective of this study is to evaluate how the different strategies affect the outcomes of combat. An analytical approach has been used in an attempt to understand a small-sized battle. The results are validated and compared with existing simulation models. Extending to the moderate size of battle may be achieved with ease. Secondly, an attempt has been made to study and investigate a way to solve combat in a different fashion. We divided a two-on-two battle into two separate one-on-one battles and connected them into a network. New elements considered such as delay time of starting a firefight on a particular node or search time for the next target when a kill occurs are defined and used as the input parameters. The discussions are made to validate the hypothesized model and ask if the results are meaningful and useful in the analysis of combat operations or not.

  • RSFQ (Rapid Single Flux Quantum) circuits are used in many practical applications. RSFQ DFFC (Delay Flip-Flop with complementary outputs) circuits can be used in a RAM, an ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit), a microprocessor, and many communication devices. A DFFC circuit has one input, one switch input, and two outputs (output l and output 2). DFFC circuit functions in such way that output 1 follows the input and output 2 is the complement of the input when the switch input is "0." However, when there is a switch input "1."the opposite output signals are generated. In this work, we have designed an RSFQ DFFC circuit based on 1 ㎄/$\textrm{cm}^2$ niobium trilayer technology. As circuit design tools, we used Xic, WRspice, and Lmeter After circuit optimization, we could obtain the bias current margins of the DFFC circuit to be above 32%.

  • The series-connected semiconductor devices structure is one way to achieve a high voltage rating. However, a problem with voltage imbalance exists in which different voltages are applied to the series-connected switches. This paper proposed a new voltage balancing technique that controls the turn-off delay time of the switch by adding one bipolar junction transistor to the gate turn-off path. The validity of the proposed method is proved through simulation and experiment. The proposed active gate driver not only enables voltage balancing across a variety of current ranges but also has a greater voltage balancing performance compared with conventional RC snubber methods.

  • Tree routing is one of appropriate routing schemes in wireless sensor network because the complexity of this approach is relatively low. But, congestion at a specific node may happen because a parent node toward a sink node is usually selected in one hop way, specially where large number of node are deployed. As feasible solution for this problem, multiple paths and sinks schemes can be applied. However, the performance of these schemes are not proved and analyzed yet. In this paper, we conduct diverse simulaton scenarios performance evaluation for these cases to identify the improvement and analyze the impact of schemes. The performance is measured in the aspects of packet transmission rate, throughput, and end-to-end delay as a function of amount of network traffic.

  • The factors of uncertainty such as work delay could cause many problems, for example, increase of construction cost and terms of work, and the deterioration of quality. Because of these, the uncertainty risk is regarded as an important management factor to obtain the success of construction project. So, the systematic management plan about the uncertainty factors is needed because it plays an important role in the completion of entire project. And also analysis of some factors which can cause the work delay can be one way of improving construction project's certainty and making it competitive. In this reason, we have to make an effort to set a priority based on analysis of quantitatively numerical value about work delay factors to manage them effectively. Thus, this study aims to suggest the basic data for the effective management and prevention of work delay in steel-frame work which is progressive actively now, along with increasing of demand of high-rise buildings by analyzing each reasons of work delay factors and also by suggesting important management factors that are coded according to each construction work using FMEA method which could give a data about the importance of work delay factors through quantitatively numerical value.

  • Time comparison is necessary for the verification and synchronization of the clock. Two-way satellite time and frequency (TWSTFT) is a method for time comparison over long distances. This method includes errors such as atmospheric effects, satellite motion, and environmental conditions. Ionospheric delay is one of the significant time comparison error in case of the carrier-phase TWSTFT (TWCP). Global Ionosphere Map (GIM) from Center for Orbit Determination in Europe (CODE) is used to compare with Bernese. Thin shell model of the ionosphere is used for the calculation of the Ionosphere Pierce Point (IPP) between stations and a GEO satellite. Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and Koganei (KGNI) stations are used, and the analysis is conducted at 29 January 2017. Vertical Total Electron Content (VTEC) which is generated by Bernese at the latitude and longitude of the receiver by processing a Receiver Independent Exchange (RINEX) observation file that is generated from the receiver has demonstrated adequacy by showing similar variation trends with the CODE GIM. Bernese also has showed the capability to produce high resolution IONosphere map EXchange (IONEX) data compared to the CODE GIM. At each station IPP, VTEC difference in two stations showed absolute maximum 3.3 and 2.3 Total Electron Content Unit (TECU) in Bernese and GIM, respectively. The ionospheric delay of the TWCP has showed maximum 5.69 and 2.54 ps from Bernese and CODE GIM, respectively. Bernese could correct up to 6.29 ps in ionospheric delay rather than using CODE GIM. The peak-to-peak value of the ionospheric delay for TWCP in Bernese is about 10 ps, and this has to be eliminated to get high precision TWCP results. The $10^{-16}$ level uncertainty of atomic clock corresponds to 10 ps for 1 day averaging time, so time synchronization performance needs less than 10 ps. Current time synchronization of a satellite and ground station is about 2 ns level, but the smaller required performance, like less than 1 ns, the better. In this perspective, since the ionospheric delay could exceed over 100 ps in a long baseline different from this short baseline case, the elimination of the ionospheric delay is thought to be important for more high precision time synchronization of a satellite and ground station. This paper showed detailed method how to eliminate ionospheric delay for TWCP, and a specific case is applied by using this technique. Anyone could apply this method to establish high precision TWCP capability, and it is possible to use other software such as GIPSYOASIS and GPSTk. This TWCP could be applied in the high precision atomic clocks and used in the ground stations of the future domestic satellite navigation system.

  • Opportunistic routing was originally introduced in various multihop network environments to reduce the number of hops in such a way that, among the relays that decode the transmitted packet for the current hop, the one that is closest to the destination becomes the transmitter for the next hop. Unlike the conventional opportunistic routing case where there is a single active S-D pair, for an ad hoc network in the presence of fading, we investigate the performance of parallel opportunistic multihop routing that is simultaneously performed by many source-destination (S-D) pairs to maximize the opportunistic gain, thereby enabling us to obtain a logarithmic gain. We first analyze a cut-set upper bound on the throughput scaling law of the network. Second, computer simulations are performed to verify the performance of the existing opportunistic routing for finite network conditions and to show trends consistent with the analytical predictions in the scaling law. More specifically, we evaluate both power and delay with respect to the number of active S-D pairs and then, numerically show a net improvement in terms of the power-delay trade-off over the conventional multihop routing that does not consider the randomness of fading.

  • Busan New Port has continued to expand its capacity to handle transshipment cargos exceeding 50 percent of its total volume, but it is considered inefficient because of the work scheduling based on the worker experience. In particular, depending on the transshipment task situation, which often requires an external truck, excessive congestion caused by the vehicle's delay can lead to increased logistics costs and social costs. One way to resolve this issue is to minimize the single transport of the truck and to maximize dual-cycle transport by putting the finished truck into another task. Therefore, we would like to study how to efficiently schedule transportation transshipment cargos between terminals considering dual-cycle.
