U-Home Healthcare를 위한 분산객체 미들웨어의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of the Distributed Object Middleware for Ubiquitous-Home Healthcare System)

  • 의료서비스 분야에서 의료와 컴퓨터 기술을 결합하여 온라인상에서 언제, 어디서나, 휴대 가능한 헬스케어(Healthcare) 장비와 유 무선 인터넷을 통해 실시간으로 환자의 생체정보 데이터를 수집하고, 이를 이용하여 진단 및 응급상황 인지가 가능한 U-헬스케어(Ubiquitous Healthcare) 시스템이 생겨났다. U-헬스케어 시스템은 기존의 의료 환경에서와는 달리, 사용자(환자, 보호자, 의료인등)들은 다양한 의료서비스를 요구하게 되고, 당연히 헬스케어 장비들은 통합된 의료서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 연동되어져야 한다. 본 논문에서 홈 네트워크(Home Network) 환경에서 사용자들의 다양한 요구를 처리하기 위해 분산 객체를 이용한 U-홈 헬스케어 미들웨어를 설계하였고, 다양한 헬스케어 장비들로부터 발생되는 생체 데이터를 통합하기 위한 데이터 변환 객체를 구현하였다.

  • Induction motors are a critical component of many industrial processes and are frequently integrated in commercially available equipment. Safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance are some of the major concerns of induction motor applications. Preventive maintenance of induction motors has been a topic great interest to industry because of their wide range application of industry. Since the use of mechanical sensors, such as vibration probes, strain gauges, and accelerometers is often impractical, the motor current signature analysis (MACA) techniques have gained murk popularity as diagnostic tool. Fault tolerant control (FTC) strives to make the system stable and retain acceptable performance under the system faults. All present FTC method can be classified into two groups. The first group is based on fault detection and diagnostics (FDD). The second group is independent of FDD and includes methods such as integrity control, reliable stabilization and simultaneous stabilization. This paper presents the fundamental FDD-based FTC methods, which are capable of on-line detection and diagnose of the induction motors. Therefore, our group has developed the embedded distributed fault tolerant and fault diagnosis system for industrial motor. This paper presents its architecture. These mechanisms are based on two 32-bit DSPs and each TMS320F2407 DSP module is checking stator current, voltage, temperatures, vibration and speed of the motor. The DSPs share information from each sensor or DSP through DPRAM with hardware implemented semaphore. And it communicates the motor status through field bus (CAN, RS485). From the designed system, we get primitive sensors data for the case of normal condition and two abnormal conditions of 3 phase induction motor control system is implemented. This paper is the first step to drive multi-motors with serial communication which can satisfy the real time operation using CAN protocol.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a process management system to manage ingot fabrication and improve ingot quality. The ingot is the first manufactured material of wafers. Trace parameters were collected on-line but measurement parameters were measured by sampling inspection. The quality parameters were applied to evaluate the quality. Therefore, preprocessing was necessary to extract useful information from the quality data. First, statistical methods were used for data generation. Then, modeling was performed, using the generated data, to improve the performance of the models. The function of the models is to predict the quality corresponding to control parameters. Secondly, rule extraction was performed to find the relation between the production quality and control conditions. The extracted rules can give important information concerning how to handle the process correctly. The dynamic polynomial neural network (DPNN) and decision tree were applied for data modeling and rule extraction, respectively, from the ingot fabrication data.

  • A point machine requires lots of time and attention in terms of maintenance, since it causes 40% of failures among the railway signaling devices. The senescence of the point machine critically matters to the overall turnout system. In this paper, we analyzed the aging characteristics of the point machine by using the switching current of the point machine. The analysis is done based on the switching current measurements of the point machines deployed in the Sehwa outdoor test site and the Korail Kyongbu line. It is expected that the analysis result can be utilized for real-time diagnosis in the aspect of the maintenance of the point machines and predicting abnormal operations.

농가의 병해충 관리 현황 이해를 위한 설문조사 결과 (Survey Results to Understand the Current Status of Pest Management in Farms)

  • 한국농수산대학 재학생 및 졸업생 151명을 대상으로 병해충 관리 현황을 조사하기 위해 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문 내용은 기본문항과 병해충 관리 문항으로 구성되어 있다. 기본문항에는 응답자의 연령, 학적상태, 재배작물, 재배면적등을 포함하고 있으며, 병해충 관리 문항에는 병해충 방제 방법, 농약 선택 근거, 병해충 예찰 방법 등을 포함하고 있다. 기본문항의 응답을 요약하면 전체 응답자 중에서 20대 응답자가 91.2%로 가장 높았고, 응답자의 재배 면적은 3헥터 이상이 34.5%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하고 있었다. 병해충 관리 문항의 응답을 요약하면 병해충 관리 방식에서는 화학적 방제법이 66%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 농약 선택 근거에서는 본인 스스로 기존의 방제 기술을 토대로 결정(30%)하거나 농약 판매상(29%)의 결정을 따랐다. 병해충 예찰 방법은 농촌진흥청 소속기관(29%)과 국가농작물병해충관리시스템(27%)을 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 농약 판매상의 병해충 진단과 농약 처방에 대한 질문에 응답자의 97%가 보통 이상의 신뢰도를 보였으나 강한 신뢰도를 선택한 경우는 전혀 없었다. 병해충 진단 및 농약 처방을 위한 전문인력 양성 필요성에 대해서는 응답자의 79%가 높은 필요성이 있는 것으로 응답하였는데, 특히, 응답자의 47%는 매우 강한 필요성이 있다고 응답하였다. 이러한 결과는, 병해충 진단과 농약 처방을 위한 정교한 기술을 지닌 병해충 관리를 위한 전문인력이 농업 현장에 필요함을 의미한다. 농민의 시각에서 조사한 설문 결과는 병해충 관리 현황을 이해하고 향후 발전 방향을 제시하는 데 중요한 정보를 제공해 줄 것이다.

학습자 트레이싱을 통한 원격 교육용 자가 진단 모듈 개발 (The Development of On-line Self-Test Module using Tracing Method)

  • 창의력이나 문제해결력과 같은 고차원적인 사고 능력은 주어진 문제의 정 오답만으로는 진단이 어려우며, 진단을 위해서는 교수자가 학습자의 문제 해결 과정을 지켜보거나 해결 과정에 대한 학습자의 보고 과정이 요구된다. 더구나 교수자의 학습자에 대한 관찰이 불가능한 온라인 학습이나 버추얼 클래스와 같은 환경에서는 학습자의 문제 해결 과정을 평가하거나 학습자 스스로 자신의 부족한 부분을 진단하는 것은 더욱 어려워진다. 이러한 문제를 해결하는 최선의 방법은 학습자가 문제를 해결하는 동안을 추적하여 그 과정을 보고해 주는 것이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 MS 오피스군의 소프트웨어를 활용하여 주어진 문제를 해결하는 동안 학습자의 작업 내역을 트레이싱하여 최종적으로 학습자에게 자신의 부족한 부분을 진단해 주고 자신의 능숙도와 소프트웨어를 응용하여 주어진 문제를 해결하는 과정에 대한 평가를 해주는 모듈을 개발하였으며, 본 진단 모듈의 효용성 평가를 위하여 실제 MOS 시험을 준비하는 학습자 81명에 대한 적용 및 만족도 조사를 통하여 통계적으로도 유의미한 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

원자력발전소 전력케이블 부분방전 진단 사례 (Partial Discharge Measurement of Power Cables for Nuclear Power Plant)

  • Electric cables are one of the most important components in a nuclear power plant since they provide the power needed to operate electrical equipment. Despite their importance, cables typically receive little attention since they are considered passive, long-lived components that have been very reliable over the years when subjected to the environmental conditions for which they were designed. The operating experience reveals that a defect of the insulator or poor construction causes the initial failure of cable. However, the number of cable failures increase with plant aging, and these cable failures are occurring within the plants' 40-year licensed period. These cable failures have resulted in plant transients, shutdown, loss of safety functions or redundancy, entries into limiting conditions for operation, and challenges for plant operators. Therefore, diagnosis of MV cable installed in NPPs has become one of the most urgent issues in recent years. In accordance with PSR, condition maintenance for cables is also continuously required. Recently, HFPD tests have been widely performed to diagnose cable in the transmission and distribution cable system. However, on-line HFPD wasn't used in the NPPs because of the danger of plant shutdown, measurement sensitivity and application problems, etc. In this paper, HFPD measurement with portable device was performed to evaluate the integrity of the 4.16kV & 13.8kV cable lines. The test results show that HFPD is highly attractive to the diagnosis of MV cables in NPP by high detection sensitivity on-site.

Concurrency of Guillain-Barre syndrome and acute transverse myelitis: a case report and review of literature

  • Guillain-$Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome and acute transverse myelitis manifest as demyelinating diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system. Concurrency of these two disorders is rarely documented in literature. A 4-year-old girl presenting with cough, fever, and an impaired walking ability was admitted to hospital. She had no previous complaints in her medical history. A physical examination revealed lack of muscle strength of the lower extremities and deep tendon reflexes. MRI could not be carried out due to technical problems; therefore, both Guillain-$Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome and acute transverse myelitis were considered for the diagnosis. Intravenous immunoglobulin treatment was started as first line therapy. Because this treatment did not relieve the patient's symptoms, spinal MRI was carried out on the fourth day of admission and demyelinating areas were identified. Based on the new findings, the patient was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis, and high dose intravenous methylprednisolone therapy was started. Electromyography findings were consistent with acute polyneuropathy affecting both motor and sensory fibers. Therefore, the patient was diagnosed with concurrency of Guillain-$Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome and acute transverse myelitis. Interestingly, while concurrency of these 2 disorders is rare, this association has been demonstrated in various recent publications. Progress in diagnostic tests (magnetic resonance imaging and electrophysiological examination studies) has enabled clinicians to establish the right diagnosis. The possibility of concurrent Guillain-$Barr{\acute{e}}$ syndrome and acute transverse myelitis should be considered if recovery takes longer than anticipated.

누설전류의 파고분포 분석에 의한 새로운 피뢰기 진단기술 및 장치 (New Diagnostic Technique and Device for Lightning Arresters by Analyzing the Wave Height Distribution of Leakage Currents)

  • Lightning arresters are deteriorated by repetition of protective operation against overvoltages or impulse currents in environments of its use. If a deteriorated arrester is left in power lines, it can lead to an accident such as a line to ground fault even in a normal system. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the deteriorated arrester in advance by checking the soundness of arresters on a regular basis, and to ensure the reliability of power systems by preventing accidents. Various deterioration diagnostic techniques and devices are suggested, and most of which measure leakage current components as an indicator of arrester ageing. However, the techniques based on the magnitude of leakage current measure simply RMS or peak value of leakage current components and do not provide detailed information needed in the diagnosis. In this study, we found that the wave height distributions of the total leakage currents are remarkably changed or a new wave height are produced with the progress of arrester deterioration. To propose a new technique for the diagnosis, we designed a leakage current detection unit and an analysis program which can measure leakage current magnitudes and analyze wave height distributions. From the experimental results, we confirmed that the proposed technique by analyzing the wave height distribution can simply diagnose the mode of defects such as a partial damage and an existence of punctures in arresters as well as deterioration of arresters.

  • Condition monitoring plays a vital role since it sustains reliable operation of industrial plants and machinery in the pursuit of economic whole life operation. In order to achieve this goal, it is needed to monitor various parameters of mechanical system such as vibration, wear, temperature and etc., and finally to diagnosis the root causes of any possible abnormal machine condition. In this work, a machine failure caused by mechanical looseness was experimentally simulated and on-line measurement of the vibration, wear and temperature were simultaneously measured. For the quantitative analyses of machine wear, several statistical parameters of the wear particle size distribution were obtained through the center moment method of the Weibull distribution function, and they were compared to vibrational characteristics. Results showed that the wear and vibrational characteristics did not reveal a strong correlation each other in a loosely supported proceeding bearing.
