Reliability and Validity of Balancia 2.5 Program Using Wii Balance Board for Assessment of Static Balance Ability

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out the reliability and validity of the newly updated Balancia 2.5 program using Wii balance board through equipment that can measure center of pressure data with the precision. Design: Cross-sectional study Methods: Twenty-seven healthy adults participated in the study. The subjects were assessed for static balance ability by Accusway, and were assessed for static balance ability on Wii balance board connected to theBalancia 2.5 program.To limit postural fluctuations due to stare, the subjects were asked to look at a 15 cm dot drawn 3 m in front of them for 30 seconds with their eyes open. Static balance ability data such as path length and sway velocity were extracted from all measurement tools.Intra-rater and inter-rater reliability and validity were extracted through intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: The intra-rater reliability that the same rater shows consistent results through test-retest was a high level at ICC=0.968 (0.926~0.986), and inter-rater reliability that the requires consistent results even when measured by different raters was a high level at ICC=0.943 (0.870~0.975). The validity was a high level at ICC=0.948 (0.881~0.977), which shows whether the measurement tool is properly measuring what it is intended to measure. Conclusions: The Balancia 2.5 program, newly updated through this study, proved to be a program with high reliability and validity in evaluating static balance ability like the existingBalancia 2.0 program.

  • In this paper, we try to solve the difficulties of the location of the structure for the movement of the wire - based pesticide spraying equipment designed for field farming. To do this, we apply earth resistivity measurement method and analysis technique which can indirectly grasp the earth structure. Electrodes are installed on the field in a selected farming area, and multi-switches built in the control board are driven to automatically acquire ground resistivity data. Then, the optimal point suitable for the actual structure installation is selected through the site analysis using the 2D image restoration algorithm.

  • In this study, a high-speed template matching system is proposed for wafer-vision alignment. The proposed system is designed to rapidly locate markers in semiconductor equipment used for wafer-vision alignment. We optimized and implemented a template-matching algorithm for the high-speed processing of high-resolution wafer images. Owing to the simplicity of wafer markers, we removed unnecessary components in the algorithm and designed the system using a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to implement high-speed processing. The hardware blocks were designed using the Xilinx ZCU104 board, and the pyramid and matching blocks were designed using programmable logic for accelerated operations. To validate the proposed system, we established a verification environment using stage equipment commonly used in industrial settings and reference-software-based validation frameworks. The output results from the FPGA were transmitted to the wafer-alignment controller for system verification. The proposed system reduced the data-processing time by approximately 30% and achieved a level of accuracy in detecting wafer markers that was comparable to that achieved by reference software, with minimal deviation. This system can be used to increase precision and productivity during semiconductor manufacturing processes.

  • With the rapid development of information and communication technology, CBTC system based on the wireless communication is widely applied in the railway signal system recently. CBTC system has advantages of lower installation space and maintenance fee than existing systems and the increase of transportation capacity and improvement of operating efficiency etc. due to the short headway. Based on the continuous wireless data communication between onboard and wayside equipment, CBTC system not only locates the train and transmits the information required for the train control, but also implements the moving block function by calculating the brake curves continuously according to distance from the preceding train. CBTC system can use either inductive loop (IL-CBTC) or radio frequency transmissions (RF-CBTC). In this paper, we propose RF-CBTC system architecture based on the functional modules, in which the CAN bus network is applied for the interfaces between the modules.

  • This study deals with the schemes of design, plan and operate maintenance management support systems and with the engineering approach for the solutions to build the maintenance management for the production efficiency. Maintenance Management Information System(MMIS) is the task that must focus on machinery historical data and planned maintenance action. Also the efficient supporting system in a maintenance management is achieved by database which is based on process of machinery's failure history. Designing method of maintenance management information system, maintenance modules are consisted of six factors ; machinery's historical data, lubrication control, check sheet, repair work, availability report, and performance report(control board and detailed reports), and then operators can rapidly utilize data in work place. In the implementation of designed model, program coding has been developed by Visual Basic 3.0. Data insertion, deletion and updating which perform menu screen is implemented by reading data from database. Implementation model based on LAN environment and related data is stored in Microsoft DBMS.

  • Conventional etching technology is in the face of problems such as dishing, erosion resulting from non-uniform removal of film. Advanced printed circuit board (PCB) requires accurate wire formation with the aid of planarization by chemical mechanical polishing (CMP). Linear roll CMP is a line contact continuous process which removes the film by pressurization and rotation while slurry is supplied to polishing pad attached to the roll. This paper focuses on the design of floating nozzle on the linear roll CMP equipment which makes the slurry supply uniformly on the roll pad. Experimental results show that removal rate using the floating nozzle increases 3 times higher than that without it and non-uniformity is less than 15%.

  • This paper deals with the improvement of electrode installation for measurement of ground resistance through investigation on the spot in buildings. The investigation was carried out for an earthing terminal board for measurement of ground resistance, installation of auxiliary electrode, etc. The criteria value is set up by measuring method of ground resistance in international standard. In case of inadequate installation of auxiliary electrode, a relative error is analyzed and adequate installation method of auxiliary electrode is proposed. As a consequence, it is necessary to write direction of ground and equipment, and separate auxiliary electrode for measurement of ground resistance in order to minimize measuring error.

  • An accelerated life testing(ALT) for aluminum electrolytic capacitors is conducted and analyzed. A testing equipment, which consists of part fixtures, relay board, controller, video bridge and microcomputer, is made for the ALT. Load factors are temperature with four levels and voltage with three levels. Base on 'optimized 4:2:1 plan', 2,000 electrolytic capacitors are allocated at 12 experimental conditions(; 4 levels of temperature ${\times}3$ levels of voltage), and the ALT is conducted. From the experimental results, an acceleration model is derived and acceleration factors are estimated. A discussion on the experimental results is included.

  • This paper presents the comparison and analysis of the power supply system of a Maglev train and conventional electric railway. Even though all Maglev trains have batteries on their vehicles, electric power supply from the ground side is necessary for levitation, propulsion, on-board electrical equipment, battery recharging, and so on. At low speeds up to $100{\sim}150(km/h)$, the Maglev train, generally, uses a mechanical contact, a current collector as same as conventional electric railway. However, at high speeds, the Maglev train can no longer obtain power from the ground side by using a mechanical contact. Therefore, high speed Maglev trains use their own way to deliver the power to the vehicle from the ground. In this paper, the power supply systems of the german, japanese, and korean low- and high-speed Maglev trains have been reviewed.

  • ATC facility manipulates ground-on-board information, which transmits speed limit, varying as wayside environments - safety facility, track gradient, inclination, bridge and tunnel and other factors, installed for safe operation of trains on wayside. Efficientiation and automatification of operation and maintenance is being realized, by measuring if there are any erroneous information, using a measuring car. In this paper, we study in priority the methods for measuring accurately distinctive properties of internal malfunctions of track circuits, the performance decrease of condensers, and the unbalance of return cables, which are actually required for functionality improvement of high-speed line signal measure facilities, by measuring the unbalance of return current given because of damaged factors of external track circuits.
