흰쥐에서 식이지방에 첨가한 Conjugated Linoleic Acid가 지방 축적과 분해에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Conjugated Linoleic Acid Supplemention on Fat Accumulation and Degradation in Rats)

  • Conjugated linoleic acid(CLA) is a naturally occuring group of derivatives of linoleic acid found in beef and dairy products. CLA has reported to reduce body fat. This study was designed to observe the effect of CLA supplementation on fat accumulation and degradation in male Sprague Dawley rats. Seventy two rats, weighing 150-180g, were divided into 2 groups according to the types of dietary fat(beef tallow or fish oil) and then each group was divided into 2 groups depending on CLA supplementation, i.e., BT, BT-CLA, FO, FO-CLA. All rats were fed experimental diet containing total fat at 12%(w/w) including CLA at 1% for 30 weeks. At 30 weeks, rats were sacrificed to measure TG, free fatty acid level in plasma, TG, lipogenic enzymes in lever and fat cell size, LPL and HSL activities in epididymal fat fad. Fish oil supplemented with CLA diet showed significant reduction in the food efficiency and weight in 30 weeks-fed rats. CLA supplement did not effect on plasma TG, hepatic TG levels and lipogenic enzymes activities in rats, but, fish oil significantly reduced, The LPL and HSL activities did not affected by CLA supplement and n-3 fatty acid rich fish oil. In conclusion, the results suggest that CLA supplement was not a proper way to reduce the fat accumulation in Sprague Dawley rats. Fish oil supplemented with CLA might better way to reduce the body fatness than fish oil itself. Therefore, It is recommended that further study be performed related to physiological and biochemical effects of CLA supplementation and n-3 fatty acid in rats for the reduction of body fatness.(Korean J Nutrition 34(4) : 367∼374, 2001)

중질유 오염토양의 생물학적 처리에 있어 amendments의 효과 (Effects of Organic Amendments on Heavy Mineral Oil Biodegradation)

  • 중질유로 오염된 토양의 생물학적 정화에 있어 amendment의 처리효과를 보고자 포장에서 pilot 규모로 105일간 실험을 수행하였다. 실험기간 중 주기적으로 토양시료를 채취하여 유류성분과 생물학적 활성과 관련된 분석을 수행하였는데 퇴비의 처리구들에서 쌀겨+무기양분처리구에 비하여 유류성분의 분해활성이 현저하게 증가함을 확인할 수 있었다. 105일 경과 후 amendment 처리구들에서는 초기농도 $6,205{\pm}173mgkg^{-1}$$33{\sim}45%$가 소실된 반면 무처리구에서는 8%만이 분해된 것으로 나타났다. 퇴비처리구들에서 무처리구 및 쌀겨처리구에 비해서 높은 중질유 분해활성을 관찰할 수 있었는데 실험기간 중 모니터링한 생물학적 지표들 중 soil respiration, dehydrogenase, lipase, urease 등의 효소활성이 쌀겨처리구에 비해 현저하게 높은 활성이 관찰되었고 이들 미생물학적 지표들과 중질유의 분해정도 사이에는 높은 상관관계가 존재하였다(p < 0.01).

인천 연안에서 분리한 원유 분해 미생물의 특성 연구 (Characterization Study of Crude Oil Degrading Microbiology Isolated from Incheon Bay)

  • 토착 미생물은 친환경적 정화에 중요한 역할을 한다. 원유(crude oil)를 분해하는 80균주를 인천 연안에서 분리하고 oil film collapsing방법을 이용하여 유화능이 있는 12균주를 선별하였다. 이들 균주에 대해 ${\rho}$-nitrophenyl butylrate를 기질로 이용하여 리파아제(lipase)활성과 n-hexanedecane을 기질로 이용하여 유화(emulsification)활성을 측정하여 원유 분해 활성이 좋은 Incheon9를 선별하고 gas chromatography (FID)로 paraffine계 탄화수소를 감소시키는 것을 확인하였다. 이 균주의 16s rRNA유전자 분석을 통해 Acinetobacter sp.로 동정하고 NCBI에 등록하여 accession code (KF548540)를 부여 받았다. Acinetobacter sp. Incheon9의 성장과 유화능이 최적 배양 조건은 $20^{\circ}C$, pH 7, 1% NaCl였으며 대수증식기 기간에 가장 높은 유화능을 보였으며 탄화수소가 짧은 trybutyrin에서 분해능력이 좋았다. 이번 연구결과는 환경오염에 활용 가능한 미생물자원군의 확보를 위한 연구였으며 추후 활용을 위해서는 실제 환경에서 동일한 활성을 가지는지 여부에 대한 연구가 추가로 진행되어야 할 것이다.

들기름 에멀젼의 산화안정성 및 산화방지제에 대한 클로로필 첨가 및 빛의 영향 (Effects of Chlorophyll Addition and Light on the Oxidative Stability and Antioxidant Changes of Perilla Oil Emulsion)

  • Lipid oxidation and antioxidants changes in perilla oil emulsion added with chlorophyll were studied during storage in the dark or under 1,700 lux light at $25^{\circ}C$ for 48 h. The emulsion was consisted of perilla oil (33.12 g), 5% acetic acid (66.23 g), egg yolk powder (0.5 g), and xanthan gum (0.15 g), and Chlorophyll b was added to the emulsion at 0, 2.5 and 4 mg/kg. The lipid oxidation was evaluated by headspace oxygen consumption and hydroperoxide formation, and tocopherols and polyphenols were monitored by HPLC and spectrophotometry at 725 nm, respectively. The lipid oxidation of the perilla oil emulsion in the dark was not significant regardless of the addition of chlorophyll. Light increased and accelerated the lipid oxidation of the emulsion, and increased addition level of chlorophyll under light increased it further. However, there was no significant change in fatty acid composition in any case. Contents of tocopherols and polyphenols in the emulsion were not significantly changed during storage in the dark regardless of chlorophyll addition, indicating their little degradation. Tocopherols and polyphenols in the emulsion were significantly degraded during storage of the emulsion under light, and the degradation rate of polyphenols was increased with addition level of chlorophyll. The lipid oxidation of the perilla oil emulsion was inversely related with the residual amounts of tocopherols and polyphenols, with more dependent on the retention of polyphenols than that of tocopherols.

변압기 절연유의 열화 검출에 관한 연구 (A new method for measuring the degradation level of transformer insulating oil in use)

  • Aging process in transformer insulating oil is studied by measuring the leakage current in ceramic sensor. the current of a sensor developed if this paper shows a close relationship with the acid value and the breakdown voltage of the transformer oil. The sensor has excellent physico-chemical reaction to the oil and stable adsorption of conductive impurities. Therefore the experimental data show good reproducibility. From the detailed analysis of the leakage current, it may be proposed that the condition of transformer insulating oil in service can be checked portably.

알긴산소다를 이용한 멸치어유의 미세캡슐화 (Microencapsulation of Anchovy Oil by Sodium Alginate)

  • Microencapsulation of anchovy oil as a core material in sodium alginate as a wall material was inves tigated. Microencapsulation was accomplished by injecting an oil/water emulsion, consisting of a mixture of liquefied sodium alginate and emulsifier, under high pressure through an orifice submerged in a calcium lactate solution. Microcapsules suspended in a dispersion fluid were observed under a fluorescence mi croscope to verify the presence of the capsules and to note coalescence or degradation of the capsules. Optimum conditions for microencapsulation of anchovy oil were obtained when 1.0% aqueous solution of sodium alginate contained 3% of a 1:1 ratio of ESPR 25(polyglycerine+polylinoleate) and TW 20(sorbitan laurate+ethylene oxide) as an emulsifier in terms of capsule size and size distribution, and emulsion stability. The airless sprayer produced microcapsules with a diameter between 15.9 and 73.9 m with different concentration of a wall material. The optimum mixing ratio of wall material to core material was 90:10(wt/wt). 0.2% calcium lactate was appropriate as a dispersion fluid.

엔진 마찰 특성에 미치는 부수적 인자의 영향 (The Effects of Additional Factors on the Engine Friction Characteristics)

  • This paper reports on the effects of additional factors on the engine friction characteristics. The total friction loss of engine is composed of pumping and mechanical friction loss. The pumping loss was calculated from the cylinder pressure, and the mechanical friction loss was measured by strip-down method under the motoring condition. The various parameters were tested. The engine friction loss was much affected by oil and coolant temperature. The low viscosity oil was very effective to reduce the friction loss, and friction modifier was very useful to reduce the friction loss at lower engine speed. The engine friction loss was varied with engine running time because of surface roughness decreasing and oil degradation. To prevent oil-churning effect, it was very important to maintain the proper oil level. The presented results will be very useful to understand friction characteristics of engine.

이액상계 생물반응기를 이용한 PAH의 분해

  • In this study, a two-liquid-phase (TLP) bioreactor was conducted to enhance the biodegradation efficiency and rate of PAH. Phenanthrene was degraded efficiently irrespective of the type and the amount of water-immiscible liquid (WIL). The degradation efficiency of anthracene was much higher in paraffine oil than in silicone oil because the mass transfer of anthracene was different in the two WILs. Pyrene was only transferred from soil to WIL during 5 days. It seemed that the degradation of PAH in the TLP bioreactor was mainly dependent on the mass transfer of PAH.

  • In this paper, the relation between the increment of metallic content such as copper(Cu) and iron(Fe) according to degradation of pole-transformer oil and change of electrical characteristics according to increment of metallic content was studied. As the result, electrical characteristics was decrease according to increment of metallic content, especially copper content, and the trend of T.C.G(Total Carbonic Gas) agreed with the trend of copper content.

대두유의 열산화 안정성에 미치는 팜유 배합의 영향 (Effect of Palm Oil Blending on the Thermal and Oxidative Stability of Soybean Oil)

  • 대두유, 팜유, 쇼트닝 그리고 대두유에 팜유를 각각 50%, 70% 배합한 혼합유로 French fry용 감자를 반복 튀김 했을 때 튀김기름의 열분해 및 산화에 대한 안정성을 알아보기 위하여 10회의 반복튀김에 사용된 기름을 매회 취하여 산값, 과산화물값, TBA값, 색도, 굴절율, 비중 등의 이화학적 특성을 측정하였다. 열분해 및 산화에 대한 대두유의 불안정성은 대두유에 팜유를 배합함으로써 감소시킬 수 있었는 바, 대두유에 대한 팜유의 비율이 커질수록 그 안정성이 증가하였다. 팜유가 50% 배합된 혼합유의 경우에는 대두유를 단독 사용했을 때 보다 그 안정성이 현저히 증가하였고 팜유가 70% 배합된 혼합유의 경우에는 팜유를 단독 사용했을 경우와 거의 같았다.
