The purpose of this study is to obtain information necessary for the development of patient clothes that can reduce physical fatigue of caregivers by quantitatively measuring the muscle load and fatigue. The patient clothes used in this study can be broken down into three types: A type (back center zipper open suit), B type (top-to bottom separated patient clothes), and C type (front zipper open suit). The EMG measurement sites are as follows: hand muscle (brachioradialis), upper arm (biceps, triceps), shoulder (anterior deltoid, medial deltoid, posterior deltoid, upper trapezius), and waist (erector spinae); additionally, the EMG signals were measured. Through this experiment, muscle load, muscle energy consumption, and muscle fatigue generation tendency were analyzed. The results of the study revealed that the C type patient clothes required the most strength in the muscles of the shoulders, upper arms, hands, and back when being put on and taken off compared to other patient clothes. The A type clothes required a relatively large force in opening the zipper. In terms of muscle energy consumption, B type generally called for more strength when it came to the zip-up and putarmsup motions. With regard to the cover the body and put legs/hips up motions, C type used the highest amount of muscle energy, whereas A type used relatively little energy. In terms of the occurrence of muscle fatigue during the putting on and taking off of the patient's clothing, there was a difference in the area and degree of muscle fatigue in the A, B, and C types, and there was also a tendency for muscle fatigue to occur when performing repetitive movements.
Pb-free wave soldering process of AC Adapter was implemented by six sigma method using Sn-Cu-Ni type solder. The solder joint appearance, microstructural change, a lift-off phenomenon and reliability were evaluated through thermal shock teal. $(Cu,Ni)_6Sn_5$-type intermetallic compound of which thickness is about 5 micron was found at solder joint between Sn-Cu-Ni solder and copper land. After applying the thermal shock test of as-soldered product up to 750 cycles, no crack was found at the solder joint and the newly developed product was superior to conventions; one in terms of productivity and reliability.

This paper is concerned with the thermal design of the $138,000m^3$ class membrane type LNGC. To predict the temperature distribution, BOG and BOR, 3-dimensional numerical calculation was carried-out for the quarter of No.3 LNG tank. These sequence analyses were performed under the standard conditions of IMO ship design condition, USCG ship design condition and the Korean flag LNGC's route condition according to the 6-voyage modes. As the results, temperature behavior, heat flux, total penetrating heat, BOG and BOR were obtained, and those were compared with the maneuvering results considering the real temperature variation of air and sea water temperature at noon time. For securing the safety of LNGC during the ballast voyage, optimum control patterns of pressure and temperature in LNG tank is suggested in this paper.
In acquiring the surface information of a part, two types of measuring machines have been used: contact type and non-contact type. Since each measuring device has the pres and cons, an integrated measuring system is proposed to acquire the optimal point data. In order to implement the integrated measuring system, the relationship of coordinate systems between each measuring device should be established. In this paper, a new datum fixture and a calibration method for the multiple-sensor measuring system are proposed. The datum fixture is designed to interface two machines, a CMM and a laser scanner. The position of the datum fixture is calibrated by the axis information off motorized rotation stage which is used for a part setup.
An elastic model is developed to predict the average thermal residual stresses in the matrix and fiber of a misoriented short fiber composite. The thermal residual stresses are induced by the mismatch in the coefficient of the thermal expansion of the matrix and fiber when the composite is subjected to a uniform temperature change. The model considers two special cases of fiber misorientation ; two-dimensional in-plane and three-dimensional axisymmetric. The analytical formulation of the model is based on Eshelby's equivalent inclusion method and is nuque in that it is able to account for interactions among fibers. The model is more general than past models and it is able to treat prior analyses of the simpler composite systems as extram cases. The present model is to investigate the effects of fiber volume fraction, distribution type, distribution cut-off angle, and aspect ratio on thermal residual stress for both in-plane and axisymmetric fiber misorientation. Fiber volum fraction, aspect ratio, and disturbution cut-off angle are shown to have more significant effects on the magnitude of the thermal residual stress than fiber distrubution type for both in-plane and axisymmetric misorientation.
Satellite infrared images were analyzed to study the distribution of eddies off the east coast of Korea from 1987 to 1991. Most of the eddies were filament-type and were generated near the fringe of the East Korea Warm Current (EKWC) flowing northward. Eddies having length of 20-40km and width of 10-20km were most abundant. The meso-scale eddies of 100-200km in diameter were found between Mukho and Wonsan Bay in almost all the images. There was no evidence for the consistent movement of eddies to a definite direction. The Ulleung Warm Eddy, although reported previously by the hydrographic data, could not be identified by the limited amount of infrared imagery.
In this study, a series of finite element analysis using LUSAS were performed in order to assess the quantitative effects of repair and retrofit of stringer in steel plate girder railway bridge with fatigue cracks. And cutoff types of end part of upper flange were considered as right-angled type and round-angled type. Also, as a method of repair and retrofit of fatigue cracks in stringer, perforation of stop-hole and installation of bracket were considered. From the analysis result, it was possible to assess the fatigue safety and fatigue life of stringer with fatigue cracks, and to estimate the stress intensity factor range in cut-off part of stringer using J-integral method. Also, according
to the method of perforation of stop-hole and installation of bracket, it was possible to calculate the crack propagation life at the cut-off part of stringer.

Modern users demand that the on and off type solenoid actuator should be smaller, lighter in weight, lower in consumption power, and higher in response time. The complete design satisfying such requirements can be achieved when electromagnetic theories and empirical knowledge are combined. This paper presents various types of empirical coefficients essentially needed for optimal design of a solenoid actuator. The values of these empirical coefficients are obtained through extensive experiments over a great length of time for various kinds of solenoid actuators. We have developed a design program that is composed by combination of governing equations and empirical coefficients, and have also manufactured a prototype solenoid actuator based on the final results of the design program. The propriety of the design program and empirical coefficients have been proven by experiments.
The title compound (BMBZA) was designed and synthesized as a novel fluorescent amorphous molecular material. BMBZA was found to exhibit solvatofluorochromism and to readily form an amorphous glass by cooling the melt on standing. In addition, the morphological change from crystalline state to amorphous one could be induced by mechanical grinding. Although fluorescence was scarcely observed for the crystalline sample of BMBZA, the grinding the sample was found to enhance the fluorescence emission, that is, BMBZA exhibited on-off type mechanofluorochromism.
Insulation system of LNG carrier has made important roles such as maintaining a proper Boil off Ratio(BOR) for the cargo and avoiding the excessive low temperature of the adjacent inner hull beyond the permissible limit. At the same time, safety and economy of the LNG transportation by the ship are connected with the performance of the insulation system. Also, thermal insulation system of LNG carrier is one of the most advanced technique with the structure analysis of tank, welding and assembling. In this study a computer program is developed to calculate the hull temperature distribution and BOR, which are important factors in thermal design for the Moss Rosenberg Verft spherical tank type LNG carrier. Detailed results for hhull temperature distribution close to LNG tank, BOR and the thickness effect of insulation material are reported in this paper in the range of standare design sea condition.
