어린이집 프로그램 관찰척도의 개발과 타당화 (Development and Validation of an Observation Scale for Day Care Programs)

  • This study aimed to develop an observation scale for assessing the quality of day care programs and to examine reliability and validity of the scale. Instruments included 3 self-assessment scales, the Evaluation Scale for Early Childhood Programs and an observation scale completed by 8 trained observers in 89 day care sites. Item analysis indicated that most items were acceptable in terms of item discrimination and item response distribution. Cronbach ${\alpha}^{\prime}s$ and inter-observer reliability were relatively high. Validity of the scale was evidenced by correlations between the observation scale and the criterion measure and inter-correlations among sub-areas of the observation scale. Scores on the observation scale were validated by quality ratings from self-assessment scores.

표준보육과정에 기초한 영아관찰척도 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (A Preliminary Study into the Infant Observation Scale Based on the National Curriculum for Childcare Centers)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable infant observation scale based on the national curriculum for childcare centers. The study was carried out using the final draft of the Infant Observation Scale for 1 year old infants. The scale consists of 42 items in 6 areas. Whereas the final draft of the Infant Observation Scale for 2 year old infants consists of 52 items in 6 areas. The subjects of this observation scale were 120 infants from the city of Busan. The results of the Infant Observation Scale for the 1 year old infant analysis for the purpose of test adequacy indecates that the internal consistency reliability is from .88 to .97. The results of the Infant Observation Scale for 2 year old infant analysis for test adequacy shows that the internal consistency reliability is from .76 to .97.

부모-영아 놀이 상호작용 관찰척도 개발을 위한 연구 (Developing the Parent Play Interaction Observation Scale (PPIOS) for Toddlers)

  • Objective: This study aimed to develop a parent play interaction observation scale (PPIOS-Toddler) and analyze it in terms of item discrimination, reliability, and validity. Methods: The subjects of the study were 97 toddlers and mothers. This scale consisted of three categories, six domains and 22 items on a 5-point scale. For the item discrimination of the observation scale, an independent standard t-test was conducted to analyze the significant difference in average between the upper and lower groups for each item. The reliability of the observation scale was calculated by Cronbach's α, the intra-item agreement, and the validity was examined through content validity, the correlation between subdomains and total scores, and official validity using PICCOLO. Results: In item discrimination analysis, all items exhibited differences between upper and lower groups. The overall internal agreement for the observation scale was 0.95, with factor-specific internal agreement ranging from 0.83 to 0.95. The observation scale demonstrated notable correlations between total scores and sub-factors (0.45 to 0.93) and significant correlations with PICCOLO total scores (0.66 to 0.86). Conclusion/Implications: The study successfully verified the item discrimination, reliability, and validity of the Parent Play Interaction Observation Scale (PPIOS-Toddler).

소규모 사업장의 보건관리 간호업무에 대한 관찰연구에서의 장애요인 (Interfering Elements in Observation Research on Occupational Health Nursing Services Applied to Small-scale-enterprises of Korea)

  • This study was done in an attempt to reveal those factors interfering with the observation study. Three trained research assistants collected data by observing the two occupational health nurses working in the small scale enterprises on the 3rd and 10th of February, 1999. The first observation was performed on the 3rd of February without observation guidance. Guidance was given during the second observation on the 10th of February. These data were compared between reporters in nursing services of 'Workplace visiting', 'Health counselling' and 'Blood pressure checking' according to nursing time and frequency. These areas were chosen because these activities were regarded as clearly identifiable by observers in contrast to the other performances. The data showed inconsistency between reporters. However, they were reduced when reporters observed nurses with guidance, although there were still minor differences between data in time and frequency. Discussions were carried out to find possible reasons for these differences. The causes were mainly attributed to the difficulty in workplace conditions to observe, the work specificity of nurses visiting each workplace and the delicate situation between nurses and observers when reporters were travelling in the nurse's car. Therefore, the results suggest that the observation method applied to the nursing service research at small-scale enterprises should be more concerned about the selection of appropriate workplace and operational definition of nursing activity in order to more precisely measure nurses' attitudes.

아동중심놀이치료에서의 아동과 치료자 반응 관찰척도 개발 (The Development of an Observation Scale to facilitate a Valid and Reliable Analysis of the Responses of Child and Therapist in Child-Centered Play Therapy)

  • This study was conducted in order to develop an observation scale for analyzing the responses of child and therapist in child-centered play therapy in terms of item discrimination, validity, and reliability. The observation scale was developed on the basis of child-centered play therapy literature, the author's experience of child-centered play therapy, the observation of video tapes of play therapy session, and discussions with child-centered play therapy experts. The participants in this study were 54 children aged from 4 to 9 years old who have emotional and behavioral problems, and 7 therapists who consult with the children. The reliability of factors, as measured by inter-rater reliability and Cronbach's', ranged from .72 to .77. The results of factor analysis identified 2 factors and 21 items associated with the reponses of the children, and 2 factors and 19 items associated with the responses of the therapists. The significant factors identified were as follows; (1) the child's response style; (2) the child's response content (adaptability, initiation, structuring, flexibility); (3) the therapist's response style, and (4) the therapist's response content (facilitative response, structuring, nonfacilitative response). In conclusion, these results demonstrated that the observation scale provides a valid and reliable means of analyzing the responses of child and therapist in child-centered play therapy.

에어로솔-구름-강수 상호작용 (CAPI) 연구를 위한 관측 방법론 고찰 (A Review of the Observation-based Framework for the Study of Aerosol-Cloud-Precipitation Interactions (CAPI))

  • There is still large uncertainty in estimating aerosol indirect effect despite ever-escalating efforts and virtually exponential increase in published studies concerning aerosol-cloud-precipitation interactions (CAPI). Probably most uncertainty comes from a wide range of observational scales and different platforms inappropriately used, and inherent complex chains of CAPI. Therefore, well-designed field campaigns and data analysis are required to address how to attribute aerosol signals along with clouds and precipitation to the microphysical effects of aerosols. Basically, aerosol influences cloud properties at the microphysical scales, "process scale", but observations are generally made of bulk properties over a various range of temporal and spatial resolutions, "analysis scale" (McComiskey & Feingold, 2012). In the most studies, measures made within the wide range of scales are erroneously treated as equivalent, probably resulting in a large uncertainty in associated with CAPI. Therefore, issues associated with the disparities of the observational resolution particular to CAPI are briefly discussed. In addition, the dependence of CAPI on the cloud environment such as stability and adiabaticity, and observation characteristics with varying situations of CAPI are also addressed together with observation framework optimally designed for the Korean situation. Properly designed and observation-based CAPI studies will likely continue to accumulate new evidences of CAPI, to further help understand its fundamental mechanism, and finally to develop improved parameterization for cloud-resolving models and large scale models.

Numerical Analysis of Wintertime Air Pollution in East Asia Region Using Long-Range Transport Model

  • In order to understand the wintertime intermittent characteristics of the trans-boundary air pollutant transport observed in East Asia, a numerical simulation of the long-range transport of pollutants was applied using an atmospheric transport model(STEM-II). The numerical simulation was carried out for the entire month of January 1997 and specific atmospheric aerosol (including sulfate, nitrate, and other ion compounds0 observation data were compared from four observation sites(Cheju Island, Kanghwa Island, Dazaifu, and Fukue Island). The observation data revealed that concentration peaks were intermittently observed at 3 to 4-day intervals plus the four observation sites exhibited a very similar spatial variation. The horizontal and spatial scale of the heavily polluted air masses was analyzed based on numerical results. The mechanism of the intermittent transport of air pollutants was clearly explained by a comparison of the observed data with the numerical output. It was found that the wind pattern variations associated with the synoptic scale pressure system changes play an extremely important role in the transport of pollutants in this region.

Large Scale Structures at z~1 in SA22 Field and Environmental Dependence of Galaxy Properties

  • We study galaxy evolution with the large-scale environment with confirmed galaxy clusters from multi-object spectroscopy (MOS) observation. The observation was performed with Inamori Magellan Areal Camera and Spectrograph (IMACS) mounted on the 6.5 m Magellan/Baade telescope in Las Campanas Observatory. With the MOS observation, we spectroscopically confirm 34 galaxy clusters, including three galaxy clusters discovered in Kim et al. (2016) and 11 of them have halo mass of > 1014.5 M. Among the confirmed clusters, 12 galaxy clusters are part of large-scale structure at z ~ 0.9, and their size stretches to 40 Mpc co-moving scale. In this study, we checked the 'web feeding model,' which postulates that more linked (with their environment) galaxy clusters have less quenched populations by investigating the correlation between properties of confirmed galaxy clusters and the large-scale structure environment. Lastly, we found that galaxy clusters that make up the large-scale structure have larger and widely spread values of total star formation density (ΣSFR/Mhalo) than typical clusters at similar redshifts.

고해상도 주제 정보 생성을 위한 저해상도 원격탐사 자료의 지구통계학기반 상세화 및 정밀 관측 자료와의 통합 (Geostatistical Downscaling of Coarse Scale Remote Sensing Data and Integration with Precise Observation Data for Generation of Fine Scale Thematic Information)

  • 이 논문에서는 저해상도 원격탐사 자료 기반 주제도의 상세화를 목적으로 2단계로 구성된 지구통계학적 통합 기법을 제안하였다. 우선 영역-점 변환 크리깅을 이용하여 저해상도 부가 자료의 상세화를 수행하고, 이 정보는 이후 통합 과정에서 경향 성분으로 이용된다. 그리고 상세화된 부가 자료와 소수의 정밀 관측 자료와의 통합에 가변적 지역 평균 기반 단순 크리깅을 적용한다. 제안 기법은 저해상도 부가 자료의 상세화를 통해 해상도 차이에 따른 정밀 관측 자료와 부가 자료와의 통계적 연관성을 반영할 수 있으며, 정밀 조사 자료와의 통합을 통해 부가 자료의 오류를 보정할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 제안 기법의 적용성 평가를 위해, 지상 관측 강수 자료와 TRMM 자료와의 통합을 이용한 고해상도 강수 주제도 제작 연구를 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 영역-점 변환 크리깅을 통해 원 자료 스케일의 TRMM 강수값을 재생산할 수 있는 다양한 목표 고해상도에서의 상세 정보 추출이 가능하였다. 그리고 이 자료를 정밀 관측 자료와 통합함으로써 정밀 관측 자료만을 이용하는 단변량 공간 예측 기법에 비해 향상된 예측 정확도를 보였다. 따라서 제안 기법은 서로 다른 해상도를 가지는 자료를 대상으로 저해상도 부가 자료의 상세화에 효율적으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

원전 고온 1차수 환경에서 응력부식균열의 실시간 마이크로 스케일 관찰 방법 개발 (Development of Method for In-situ Micro-Scale Observation of Stress Corrosion Cracking in High-Temperature Primary Water Environment)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a new in-situ observation method and instrument in micro-scale to investigate the mechanism of stress corrosion cracking (SCC) initiation of Ni-base alloys in a high temperature water environment of pressurized water reactors (PWRs). A laser confocal microscope (LCM), an autoclave with diamond window view port, and a slow strain-rate tester with primary water circulation loop system were components of the instrument. Diamond window, one of the core components of the instrument, was selected based on its optical, chemical, and mechanical properties. LCM was used to observe the specimen in micro-scale, considering the experimental condition of a high-temperature primary water environment. Using in-situ method and instrument, it is possible to observe oxidation and deformation of specimen surface in micro-scale through the diamond window in a high-temperature primary water in real-time. The in-situ method and instrument developed in this work can be utilized to investigate effects of various factors on SCC initiation in a high-temperature water environment.
