Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the current status of education for nursing management in Korea. Methods: A descriptive study was done using a questionnaire developed by the investigators. The data were collected by survey from 96 out of 129 nursing schools, between December 2010 and February 2011. Results: For 22.9% of nursing schools, there was no faculty for nursing management. The credits and subjects included in nursing management varied among the nursing schools. Lectures in subjects related to nursing management were given not only by nursing management faculty but also by faculty with other majors. There were more faculty and credits for nursing management courses in 4-year nursing schools than in 3-year schools. Conclusion: To improve the quality of education in nursing management, there is a need to standardized courses and provide nursing faculty who have majored in nursing management.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of perceived readiness for interprofessional learning and its differences between nursing and other health-related students. Methods: A web-based survey was conducted from April 25 to June 30, 2017 in one university in Korea. A total of 325 undergraduate nursing students and other health-related disciplines completed the structured questionnaire consisting of Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale and general characteristics. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results: The scores of readiness for interprofessional learning in nursing students were significantly higher than those in other health-related students (t=3.50, p=.001). Nursing students had higher collaboration, professional identity, and roles and responsibilities than other health-related students. The class experiences with other major students was a significant factor related to the readiness for interprofessional learning both in nursing (p=.001) and other health-related students (p=.001). Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing educators consider the different level of readiness for interprofessional learning between nursing and other health-related students while integrating interprofessional education into nursing education curricula.

Purpose: We aimed to analyze the existing nursing studies related to Yangsaeng for providing a foundation for future studies and developing nursing interventions. Methods: Frequency analysis according to year, journal, study design, variable, and measure of the studies published in domestic nursing journals from 1990 to 2014 was performed. Results: First study of Yangsaeng was published in 1997. The numbers of studies related to Yangsaeng was continuously increasing until 2010 and reducing afterwards. Most nursing studies related to Yangsaeng were published at the Jounral of East-West Nursing Research targeting older adults. The most commonly used measure to assess the concept of Yangsaeng was the scale developed by Ae-Jung Kim in 2004. Most studies were quantitative and correlational studies and none of them was experimental research. Conclusion: It would be useful to incorporate the concept of Yangsaeng into nursing research because from a perspective of holistic nursing, the concept of Yangsaeng is similar with the view of health promotion. This may enable to expand the scope of nursing study from a diverse perspective.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of simulation-based maternity nursing practice by applying problem based learning (PBL) on the problem solving process, self-confidence in clinical performance and nursing competence of nursing students. Methods: This study was one group pre-posttest design, with 123 third year nursing students. Data were collected from March 19 to May 29, 2013 as the students completed their simulation practice class. Students completed a survey about their problem solving process, self-confidence, and nursing competence at the beginning and the end of the class. Results: Students' problem solving process, self-confidence, and nursing competence showed significant improvements after the simulation-based maternity nursing practice. Conclusion: Therefore, it is recommended that current maternity nursing curriculum should be reviewed and improved, and the students should be provided variety of simulation-based education and maternity nursing skills.

The objective of this study is to develope the record forms for the home care nursing. Through the literature review and 4 times of workshop participated with the health practitioner and nursing professors from July 1993 to March 1995, the standands of home nursing care, initial assessment tools, progress notes by diseases and the referral sheet were developed. The Community health practitioner were trained for home nursing care and participated with 5 nursing professors in the workshop to validate the content of the record forms. It is suggested that the more refinement of these record forms fased a defined conceptual framework in the various home nursing area is needed in the future.

Purpose: The purposes of this study were to provide baseline data for nursing service program and to elevate the quality of service by examining whether nurses' nursing service is related to job stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, leadership and nursing service satisfaction in hospitals. Method: Subjects were 135 nurses and 135 patients, working and being in the hospitals in C province & D city from November. 7 to 21, 2005 and completed a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, ANCOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The most powerful predictor of nursing service was leadership(60.7%). Altogether leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work stress explained 72.5% of nursing service of the nurses in hospitals. Conclusion: The results showed the nurses' nursing service in hospitals was influenced by leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job stress. It suggested that concepts of leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job stress should be considered in developing nursing services programs.

Purpose: This paper is a report of a concept analysis of 'quality of pediatric nursing care', Methods: Rodgers's evolutionary method of concept analysis was used. Data were collected from published literature related to quality of pediatric nursing care. Results: Quality of pediatric nursing care was identified with three dimensions and seven attributes: 1) nurse's character: technical competence, interpersonal competence, 2) nurse's activities: developmentally appropriate care, attentiveness, entertainment, 3) nurse-parent interaction: nurse-parent partnership, emotional support. Antecedents of quality of pediatric nursing care were 'child and parent's expectation about pediatric nursing care', 'previous caring experience of pediatric nurses'. Consequences of quality of pediatric nursing care were 'meet child and parent's needs' and 'better health outcomes.' Conclusion: 'Quality of pediatric nursing care' is a core concept in pediatric nursing practice. Appropriate instruments to operationalize the concept need to be developed.

This paper describes why maternity nursing need to be extended and expanded to women's health nursing. Women's health nursing was developed and influenced by philosophical reasoning such as existentialism, feminism, and postmodernism. Also social changes accelerated to progress the maternity nursing to women's health nursing. Reproductive health is the core concept of women's health nursing as well as maternity nursing. The major content of women's health nursing includes maternity nursing area. Thus those researchers who study women's health nursing should take initiative role in multidisciplinary researches to solve health problem and improve the quality of women's life.
