  • In this paper, we describe a greedy user selection scheme for multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. We propose a new metric which has significantly improved performance compared to the Frobenius norm metric. The approximation of projection matrix is applied to increase the accuracy of Frobenius norm of effective channel matrix. We analyze the computational complexity of two metrics by using flop counts, and also verify the achievable sum rate through numerical simulation. Our simulation result shows that the proposed metric can achieve the improved sum rate as the number of user antenna increases.

  • In conventional boolean retrieval systems, document ranking is not supported and similarity coefficients cannot be computed between queries and documents. The MMM, Paice and P-norm models have been proposed in the past to support the ranking facility for boolean retrieval systems. They have common properties of interpreting boolean operators softly. In this paper we propose a new soft evaluation method for Information retrieval using query splitting relevance feedback model. We also show through performance comparison that query splitting relevance feedback(QSRF) is more efficient and effective than MMM, Paice and P-norm.

  • Robust nonlinear image denoising algorithms for the class of ${\alpha}$-stable distribution are introduced. The proposed amplitude-limited sample average filter(ALSAF) proves to be the maximum likelihood estimator under the heavy-tailed Gaussian noise environments. The error norm for this estimator is equivalent to Huber#s minimax norm. It is optimal in the respect of maximizing the efficacy under the above noise environment. It is mired with the myriad filter to propose an amplitude-limited myriad filter(ALMF). The behavior and performance of the ALSAF and ALMF in ${\alpha}$-stable noise environment are illustrated and analyzed through simulation.

  • This study explored how peers influence on adolescents' game over-indulgence. More specifically, it was examined the effects of emotional support, subjective norm of game use, peer stress, and friends' attitude toward gaming on game over-indulgence. Results showed that the higher level of subjective norm of game use and peer stress one received the higher level of game over-indulgence one reported. However, lower emotional support caused higher game over-indulgence. Meanwhile, friends' attitude toward gaming was not significantly related to game over-indulgence. The meaning and the importance of peer in terms of game over-indulgence and limitations of the study were discussed.

  • This paper analyzed factors for employees to violate information security policy in financial companies based on the theory of reasoned action (TRA), general deterrence theory (GDT), and information security awareness and moderating effects of perceived sensitivity of customer information. Using the 376 samples that were collected through both online and offline surveys, statistical tests were performed. We found that the perceived severity of sanction and information security policy support to information policy violation attitude and subjective norm but the perceived certainty of sanction and general information security awareness support to only subjective norm. Also, the moderating effects of perceived sensitivity of customer information against information policy violation attitude and subjective norm were supported. Academic implications of this study are expected to be the basis for future research on information security policy violations of financial companies; Employees' perceived sanctions and information security policy awareness have an impact on the subjective norm significantly. Practical implications are that it can provide a guide to establish information security management strategies for information security compliance; when implementing information security awareness training for employees to deter violations by emphasizing the sensitivity of customer information, a company should make their employees recognize that the customer information is very sensitive data.

  • H-infinity norm relates to the maximum in the frequency response function and H-infinity control method focuses on the case that the vibration is excited at the fundamental frequency, while 2-norm relates to the output energy of systems with the input of pulses or white noises and 2-norm control method weighs the overall vibration performance of systems. The trade-off between the performance in frequency-domain and that in time-domain may be achieved by integrating two indices in the mixed vibration control method. Based on the linear fractional state space representation in the modal space for a piezoelectric flexible structure with uncertain modal parameters and un-modeled residual high-frequency modes, a mixed dynamic output feedback control design method is proposed to suppress the structural vibration. Using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, the initial populations are generated by the designing of robust control laws with different H-infinity performance indices before the robust 2-norm performance index of the closed-loop system is included in the fitness function of optimization. A flexible beam structure with a piezoelectric sensor and a piezoelectric actuator are used as the subject for numerical studies. Compared with the velocity feedback control method, the numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The effects of open boundary conditions including the radiation condition are compared by utilizing the $L^{2_}$-norm and RMS error in the numerical modeling of ocean problem. In numerical tests of $M_2$ tide, grid size and bed roughness are considered and analyzed. For the $M_2$ tide test in a simplified bay where the analytical solutions are available, it is found that improved radiating boundary condition(IMPSOM) may increase the reliability of computed results by 40% of $L^{2_}$-norm and 96% of RMS error than the open boundary condition without radiation effect. In case of using the half-size grids, better results are obtained. It is also found that the IMPSOM is applicable with satisfaction when the bottom friction is included.

  • This paper concerned with the Honsu(婚需) norms of urban residents in Korea, and was designed to suggest a solution to solve the current problems of the extravagant Honsu with the changes int he customs related to Honsu. Data collected through interviews with questionaire were analyzed statistically by X2-test, ANOVA, Scheffe-test, factor analysis, cluster analysis and product moment correlation coefficients using SPSS PC+ program. Factors of HONSU norm, was characterized into 3 types, exchangabilities and focusing on groom's family, preparation of goods for housekeeping, and independence from parents and individualism. HONSU was found to be regarded as the basis for better life for the new family provided by their patents in terms of the family norm. The current problems of extravagant HONSU seems due to the family norm. Factors of HONSU norms could be grouped into 4 categories by the cluster analysis. They are 1)the preparation of basic house-keeping items for independent family, 2)an opportunity to secure an economic base for the new family, 3)an opportunity to show off their wealth by selecting easily exchangable goods, and 4)others who select items based on their personalities. An oppportunity to show off their wealth by selecting easily exchangable was the cultural norm of Honsu, and it was found that urban housewives had almost uniform thoughts about Honsu. Consideration of items for individuals' needs and independent life took place in deciding on Honsu for all four types of couples although the weight given to this consideration showed difference. Preparation for the new family and individual needs were the common grounds of HONSU norms in all categories through the weight was different.

  • This study applied the Theory of Reasoned Action by Fishbein & Ajzen(1975) as the grounded theory and adopt sanctions of the General Deterrent Theory and protection motivation of the Protection Motivation Theory as the antecedents to discuss the theoretical factors and the cases of application in the field of information security. Then, it adopted subjective norm, a variable of the Theory of Reasoned Action, as a parameter to analyze the causality of sanctions, perceived vulnerability, response cost, and self-efficacy with the intention to follow the information security policies. As a result, all of the antecedents except for sanctions had causality with the intention and subjective norm proved its mediating effect as a parameter between the antecedents and the intention.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure in young adults. Methods: A convenience sample of 330 young adults was recruited from the community. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Results: The factors affecting prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure were self-efficacy (β=.54 p<.001), subjective norm (β=.18, p<.001) and using the air purifier (β=.-17, p<.001). These variables had a 46% variance to explain prevention behaviors for particulate matter exposure. Conclusion: Findings showed that 'self-efficacy' and 'subjective norm' were important factors influencing prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure in young adults. Thus, we need to consider the positive impact of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure and increase the chances of prevention behaviors of particulate matter exposure program for young adults.
