GLOBAL GRADIENT ESTIMATES FOR NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS

  • We prove global gradient estimates in weighted Orlicz spaces for weak solutions of nonlinear elliptic equations in divergence form over a bounded non-smooth domain as a generalization of Calder$\acute{o}$n-Zygmund theory. For each point and each small scale, the main assumptions are that nonlinearity is assumed to have a uniformly small mean oscillation and that the boundary of the domain is sufficiently flat.

  • 극점에서 비균일 표본화된 음성 신호는 크기열과 간격열의 이중구조로 표현되어, 균일 표본화된 신호에 근거한 기존의 신호처리 방법을 그대로 적용할 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 비균일 표본화된 음성 신호에서 에너지, 크기, 영교차율, 함수의 관계를 직접 유도하고, 특징을 살펴보아 비규닝ㄹ 펴본화된 음성신호에서도 균일 표본화된 신호에 해당하는 에너지, 크기, 영교차율과 같은 전처리과정 파라미터의추정이 가능함을 확인한다.

  • Let $E/{\mathbb{Q}$ be an elliptic curve defined over rationals, P is a non-torsion rational point of E and $$S=\{[n]P{\mid}n{\in}{\mathbb{Z}}\}$$. then S is dense in the component of $E({\mathbb{R}})$ which contains the infinity in the usual Euclidean topology or in the topology defined by the invariant Haar measure and it is uniformly distributed.

  • This paper presents a direct adaptive poleplacement control scheme which is applicable to discrete-time non-minimum phase systems. It is proved that by this scheme the poles can be placed at the desired locations and the overall state vector of the system is uniformly bounded if the reference input is sufficiently rich, and also proved that in case of insufficiently rich reference input the overall system can still be stabilized though the poles may not be placed exactly at the desired locations. The effectiveness of this scheme is verified by digital computer simulations.

  • The non-linear differential equations of motion of a fluid conveying curved pipe are derived by making use of Hamiltonian approach. The extensible dynamics of the pipe is based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Some significant differences between linear and nonlinear equations and the basic analysis results are discussed. Using eigenfrequency analysis, it can be shown that the natural frequencies are changed with flow velocity.

  • We study a maximum principle for a uniformly elliptic second order differential operator in nondivergence form. We allow a bounded positive zeroth order coefficient in a certain type of unbounded domains. The results extend a result by J. Busca in a sense of domains, and we present a simple proof based on local maximum principle by Gilbarg and Trudinger with iterations.

  • Let X be a Banach space and $X^*$ be its dual. In this paper, we give relationships among some parameters in $X^*$: ${\varepsilon}$-nonsquareness parameter, $J({\varepsilon},X^*)$; ${\varepsilon}$-boundary parameter, $Q({\varepsilon},X^*)$; the modulus of smoothness, ${\rho}_{X^*}({\varepsilon})$; and ${\varepsilon}$-Pythagorean parameter, $E({\varepsilon},X^*)$, and weak orthogonality parameter, ${\omega}(X)$ in X that imply uniform norm structure in X. Some existing results are extended or approved.

Buckling and vibration behavior of a non-uniformly heated isotropic cylindrical panel

  • This study attempts to address the buckling and free vibration characteristics of an isotropic cylindrical panel subjected to non-uniform temperature rise using numerical approach. Finite element analysis has been used in the present study. The approach involves three parts, in the first part non-uniform temperature field is obtained using heat transfer analysis, in the second part, the stress field is computed under the thermal load using static condition and, the last part, the buckling and pre-stressed modal analysis are carried out to compute critical buckling temperature as well as natural frequencies and associated mode shapes. In the present study, the effect of non-uniform temperature field, heat sink temperatures and in-plane boundary constraints are considered. The relation between buckling temperature under uniform and non-uniform temperature fields has been established. Results revealed that decrease (Case (ii)) type temperature variation field influences the fundamental buckling mode shape significantly. Further, it is observed that natural frequencies under free vibration state, decreases as temperature increases. However, the reduction is significantly higher for the lowest natural frequency. It is also found that, with an increase in temperature, nodal and anti-nodal positions of free vibration mode shapes is shifting towards the location where the intensity of the heat source is high and structural stiffness is low.

The effect of non-uniform current distribution on transport current loss in stacked high-Tc superconductor tapes

  • The influence of current distribution on the transport current loss in vertically stacked high-$T_c$ superconductor (HTS) tapes was evaluated. AC loss was analyzed as a function of current distribution by introducing a current distribution parameter through a numerical method (finite element analysis). AC loss under non-uniform current distribution is always higher than that for a uniformly distributed transport current in a conductor. Although the effect of non-uniformity is relatively insignificant in low transport current, AC loss increases substantially in high transport current regions as non-uniformity is enlarged. The results verify that non-uniform current distribution causes extra loss by examining the cross-sectional view of current densities in stacked conductor.

음향방사문제에서 직접경계요소법의 비유일성 회피방법에 관한 고찰 (Investigation on Method Avoiding Non-uniqueness of Direct Boundary Element Method in Acoustic Wave Radiation Problem)

  • 직접경계요소법은 음향방사문제 해석에 널리 적용되는 수치해석기법중 하나이지만, 외부 음향방사 문제에 있어서는 방사면 내부공간의 고유주파수 근방에서 비유일성이 나타나게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 CHIEF 방법이 일반적으로 적용되어 왔으며, 최근 들어서는 ICA-Ring 방법과 같은 새로운 기법이 제안되어 해의 정확도 향상에 기여하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 언급한 두 가지 비유일성 회피기법들의 특성을 살피고, 각각의 기법 구현을 포함한 직접경계요소법 기반의 수치해석 코드를 작성한다. 또한, 법선방향 균일속도로 진동하는 구의 음향방사문제에 대한 수치해석을 수행하고 그 결과를 해석 해와 비교하여 각각의 기법들에 대한 비유일성 회피 성능을 고찰한다.
