  • A TIN, Triangulated Irregular Network, based topographic modeling method and a distributed rainfall-runoff model using the topographic representation is presented. In the TIN based topographic representation, a watershed basin is modeled as a set of contiguous non-overlapping triangular facets: the watershed basin is subdivided according to streamlines to deal with water movement one-dimensionally; and each partitioned catchment is approximated to a slope element having a quasi-three-dimensional shape by using cubic spline functions. On an approximated slope element, water movement is represented by combined surface-subsurface kinematic wave equations considering a change of slope gradient and slope width. By using the distributed rainfall-runoff model, the effects of spatial variability of soil properties on runoff response are examined.

  • In this paper, we determine the structure of rings that have secondary representation (called representable rings) and give some characterizations of these rings. Also, we characterize Artinian rings in terms of representable rings. Then we introduce completely representable modules, modules every non-zero submodule of which have secondary representation, and give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a module to be completely representable. Finally, we define strongly representable modules and give some conditions under which representable module is strongly representable.

  • According to recent researches, apparent power in a non-sinusoidal single phase system can be represented with geometric algebra. In this paper, the geometric algebra is applied to apparent power defined in a multi-line system having transmission lines with frequency-dependency under non-sinusoidal conditions.

  • Non-Negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is a method for updating dictionary and gain in alternating manner. Due to ease of implementation and intuitive interpretation, NMF is widely used to detect and separate overlapping sound events. However, NMF that utilizes non-negativity constraints generates parts-based representation and this distinct property leads to a dictionary containing fragmented acoustic events. As a result, the presence of shared basis results in performance degradation in both separation and detection tasks of overlapping sound events. In this paper, we propose a new method that utilizes K-Singular Value Decomposition (K-SVD) based dictionary to address and mitigate the part-based representation issue during the dictionary learning step. Subsequently, we calculate the gain using NMF in sound event detection step. We evaluate and confirm that overlapping sound event detection performance of the proposed method is better than the conventional method that utilizes NMF based dictionary.

  • Y. R$\acute{e}$ball$\acute{e}$ [11] discussed the representation of necessity measure through the Choquet integral criterian. He also consider a decision maker who ranks necessity measures related with Choquet integral representation. In this paper, we consider a decision maker have an "ambiguity"(say, interval-valued) necessity measure according to their Choquet's expected utility. Furthermore, we prove two theorems which are weak Choquet integral representation of preferences with a monotone set function for interval-valued necessity measures and strong Choquet integral representation of preferences with an interval-valued utility function for necessity measures.

  • Since the birth of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), it has been widely used in the military field and so on. However, the existence of speckle noise makes a good deal inconvenience for the subsequent image processing. The continuous development of sparse representation (SR) opens a new field for the speckle suppressing of SAR image. Although the SR de-noising may be effective, the over-smooth phenomenon still has bad influence on the integrity of the image information. In this paper, one novel SAR image de-noising method based on residual image fusion and sparse representation is proposed. Firstly we can get the similar block groups by the non-local similar block matching method (NLS-BM). Then SR de-noising based on the adaptive K-means singular value decomposition (K-SVD) is adopted to obtain the initial de-noised image and residual image. The residual image is processed by Shearlet transform (ST), and the corresponding de-noising methods are applied on it. Finally, in ST domain the low-frequency and high-frequency components of the initial de-noised and residual image are fused respectively by relevant fusion rules. The final de-noised image can be recovered by inverse ST. Experimental results show the proposed method can not only suppress the speckle effectively, but also save more details and other useful information of the original SAR image, which could provide more authentic and credible records for the follow-up image processing.

  • Recently as it is growing concern about NPR(Non-Photorealistic Rendering), Several computer graphics researchers are studying to simulate conventional artistic expressions such as pen-and-ink illustrations, watercolor and impressionism technique. In the NPR it is important thing that someone can produce a representation looked like work drawn or manipulated people directly. In this paper we propose that the technique could make the mosaic work automatically, tore and tagged a paper by hands used to educational and artistical representation, we suggest various methods to express a shape and texture of paper tore by hands without using cutters or scissors.

  • As a period of pluralism, today's museum architecture has been expanding social and cultural meaning. So, Various expressions are appearing in museum architecture. Accordingly, the museum must be very reproducible and comply with aesthetic requirements. At the same time, museum construction in urban design and features must satisfy professional requirements. SANAA is one of contemporary architects has been decisively deleted existing fixed and functional layout type of program through 'The new hierarchy'. Thus, the experience of the space will vary. Now, museum space is urgently needed than ever before crustal movements. Thus, this study aims to contribute an alternative to the museum space configuration according to the trend of the times through 'The new hierarchy' of SANAA. This paper is limited to the cases of the SANAA's museum architecture. We analyze the characteristics of representation on 'The new hierarchy' appear in the museum space configuration and then, examine the value of the spatial. SANAA's 'New Hierarchy' is going to set the cognitive boundary by expression targeting plane and the surface. It is completely different than the previous boundaries. Characteristics of the expression represents non-centrality, decentrally, non-oriented, uncertainty, non-territorialization, uniformity. It is steady that identity of Space, Human, Environment in Museum. They have a relationship each concept of Independence, autonomy, equality.

  • Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is one of the typical parts-based representation in which images are expressed as a linear combination of basis vectors that show the lcoal features or objects in the images. In this paper, we represent face images using various NMF methods and recognize their face identities based on extracted features using a learning vector quantization. We analyzed the various NMF methods by comparing extracted basis vectors. Also we confirmed the availability of NMF to the face recognition by verification of recognition rate of the various NMF methods.

  • Multivariate simulation is necessary for cases where non-Gaussian processes at spatially distributed locations are desired. A simulation algorithm to generate non-Gaussian wind pressure fields is proposed. Gaussian sample fields are generated based on the spectral representation method using wavelet transforms method and then mapped into non-Gaussian sample fields with the aid of a CDF mapping transformation technique. To illustrate the procedure, this approach is applied to experimental results obtained from wind tunnel tests on the domes. A multivariate Gaussian simulation technique is developed and then extended to multivariate non-Gaussian simulation using the CDF mapping technique. It is proposed to develop a new wavelet-based CDF mapping technique for simulation of multivariate non-Gaussian wind pressure process. The efficiency of the proposed methodology for the non-Gaussian nature of pressure fluctuations on separated flow regions of different rise-span ratios of domes is also discussed.
