비교차 제약식을 이용한 다중 선형 분위수 회귀모형에 관한 비교연구 (A comparison study of multiple linear quantile regression using non-crossing constraints)

  • 분위수 회귀는 반응변수의 조건부 분위수 함수를 추정함으로써 반응변수와 예측변수의 관계에 대한 포괄적인 정보를 제공한다. 그러나 여러 개의 분위수 함수를 개별적으로 추정하게 되면 이들이 서로 교차할 가능성이 있으며, 이러한 분위수 함수의 교차(quantile crossing) 현상 분위수의 이론적 기본 특성에 위배된다. 본 논문에서는 다중 비교차 분위수 함수의 추정의 대표적인 방법들의 특성을 적합식과 계산 알고리즘의 측면에서 살펴보고, 모의실험과 실제 자료 분석을 통해 그 성능을 비교하였다.

  • The major objective of this study is to investigate the fatigue life evaluation of immovability crossing for railway turnout by the field test. In railway engineering, an appliance is necessary to allow a vehicle to move from one track to another. This appliance came to be known technically as turnout. So, turnout is required very complex railway technologies such as rolling stock, track. Due to the plan under the application of high speed train, turnout are needed more stable far fatigue behaviors. It analyzed the mechanical behaviors of turnout crossing with propose its advanced technical type on the field test and fatigue evaluation far the dynamic fatigue characteristics. As a result, the advanced type crossing are obviously effective for the fatigue damage ratio and dynamic response which is non-modified type. The analytical and experimental study are carried out to investigate the passing path of contact surface and fatigue damage trend decrease dynamic stresses and deflections on advanced crossing type, And the advanced type reduce dynamic fatigue damage ratio and increase fatigue life(about each 38%) more than non-modified type. From the field test results of the servicing turnout crossing, it is evaluated that the modification of contact angle, weight, material and sectional properties is very effective fur ensure against fatigue risks.

  • 분위수 회귀는 반응변수의 조건부 분위수 함수를 추정함으로써 반응변수와 예측변수의 관계에 대한 포괄적인 정보를 제공한다. 그러나 여러 개의 분위수 함수를 개별적으로 추정하게 되면 이들이 서로 교차할 가능성이 있으며, 이러한 분위수 함수의 교차(quantile crossing) 현상 분위수의 이론적 기본 특성에 위배된다. 본 논문에서는 다중 비교차 분위수 함수의 추정을 위해 커널 계수에 제약식을 부여하는 순차적 추정법을 제안하였으며, 모의실험을 통해 제안한 방법론의 효율적인 성능과 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구는 대한민국 육군이 선도적으로 도입하고자 노력하고 있는 AI 면접체계의 자료를 통합 비교차 다중 분위수 회귀나무 모형(unified non-crossing multiple quantile tree; UNQRT)을 활용하여 분석한 것이다. 분위수 회귀가 일반적인 선형회귀에 비하여 많은 장점을 가지지만, 선형성 가정은 여전히 많은 현실 문제해결에 있어 지나치게 강한 가정이다. 선형성을 완화한 모형의 하나인 기존 나무모형 기반의 분위수 회귀는 추정된 분위수 함수별로 교차하는 문제와 분위수별로 나무모형을 제시하여 해석력을 저하시키는 문제가 있다. 통합 비교차 다중 분위수회귀나무 모형은 비교차 제약식을 부여한 상태로 다중 분위수 함수를 동시에 추정함으로서 분위수 함수의 교차 문제를 해결하며, 극단 분위수에서 안정된 결과를 기대할 수 있고, 하나의 통합된 나무모형을 제시하여 우수한 해석력이 있다. 본 연구에서는 통합 비교차 다중 분위수회귀나무 모형을 활용하여 육군 AI 면접체계의 결과와 기존 인사자료간 관계를 충분히 탐색하여 의미있는 다양한 결과를 도출하였다.

  • 불규칙 해상에서 횡파중 선체의 횡요 운동 응답을 threshold crossing 과정의 관점에서 연구하였다. 비 백색 잡음 기진력은 응답의 crossing 성질이 유지되는 크기의 백색 잡음 기진력으로 대치할 수 있다는 가정하에 등가의 백색 잡음 기 진력으로 모델링 하였고 원래의 비선형 감쇄 함수를 복원하였다. 등가의 백색 잡음 기진력을 가지고 복원된 운동방정식으로부터 결합 확률 밀도 함수를 얻기 위해 등가 비선형화법(equivalent non-linearization method)을 사용하였다. 제시된 방법을 각종 계수들의 값을 변화시키면서 예측하고 이를 다른 논문의 결과와 비교하였다.

Simulation of a Non-Directional Wave Spectrum Analysis with Welch's Method

  • Simulation and signal conditioning on the time domain surface elevation records are conducted to verify the proposed Welch's method in non-directional ocean wave spectrum analysis. These spectrum data are further conditioned to provide wave characteristic that better describe the sea states. Comparison of significant wave height and zero crossing period between the proposed method and a reference toolkit are presented.

  • Quantile regression provides a more complete statistical analysis of the stochastic relationships among random variables. Sometimes quantile functions estimated at different orders can cross each other. We propose a new non-crossing quantile regression method applying support vector median regression to restricted regression quantile, restricted support vector quantile regression. The proposed method provides a satisfying solution to estimating non-crossing quantile functions when multiple quantiles for high dimensional data are needed. We also present the model selection method that employs cross validation techniques for choosing the parameters which aect the performance of the proposed method. One real example and a simulated example are provided to show the usefulness of the proposed method.

Response of steel pipeline crossing strike-slip fault in clayey soils by nonlinear analysis method

  • Response of the pipeline crossing fault is considered as the large strain problem. Proper estimation of the pipeline response plays important role in mitigation studies. In this study, an advanced continuum modeling including material non-linearity in large strain deformations, hardening/softening soil behavior and soil-pipeline interaction is applied. Through the application of a fully nonlinear analysis based on an explicit finite difference method, the mechanics of the pipeline behavior and its interaction with soil under large strains is presented in more detail. To make the results useful in oil and gas engineering works, a continuous pipeline of two steel grades buried in two clayey soil types with four different crossing angles of 30°, 45°, 70° and 90° with respect to the pipeline axis have been considered. The results are presented as the fault movement corresponding to different damage limit states. It was seen that the maximum affected pipeline length is about 20 meters for the studied conditions. Also, the affected length around the fault cutting plane is asymmetric with about 35% and 65% at the fault moving and stationary block, respectively. Local buckling is the dominant damage state for greater crossing angle of 90° with the fault displacement varying from 0.4 m to 0.55 m. While the tensile strain limit is the main damage state at the crossing angles of 70° and 45°, the cross-sectional flattening limit becomes the main damage state at the smaller 30° crossing angles. Compared to the stiff clayey soil, the fault movement resulting 3% tensile strain limit reach up to 40% in soft clayey soil. Also, it was seen that the effect of the pipeline internal pressure reaches up to about 40% compared to non-pressurized condition for some cases.

  • Existing grade crossings between railway and roadway area gradually changed to grade separation systems by the law. In the case of new roadway construction which crosses railways, it shall be grade separation system in principle. With the railway underground crossing method, many practices have been developed which can minimize rail displacements and avoid rail release. With these methods, the effects to the train can be reduced. The underground crossing methods can be identified as open-cut methods and non open-cut methods. The open-cut methods include temporary support methods and special rail construction methods. Also the non open-cut methods includes pipe roof methods, front jacking methods, messer shield methods, NTR methods and JES methods. Among these, the most suitable method is applied considering safety, economy, class of each rail system (train passing frequency and velocity), etc. In the non open-cut methods, the cost and duration shall be increased to keep existing rail system during construction. In the open-cut methods which use plate girders, the rail speed shall be restricted due to the displacement and vibration of the girder. In this study new grade separation methods were developed. With this method, the safety during construction can be increased. This method refines temporary support methods, but pc slab girder with huge stiffness is applied instead of plate girders. With this method, the rail displacement can be reduced and higher safety can be obtained during construction. Also construction cost and duration can be minimized because the temporary work and the overburden soil depth can be reduced.
