This paper proposes two kinds of complexity-reduced algorithms for a low density parity check (LDPC) decoder. First, sequential decoding using a partial group is proposed. It has the same hardware complexity and requires a fewer number of iterations with little performance loss. The amount of performance loss can be determined by the designer, based on a tradeoff with the desired reduction in complexity. Second, an early detection method for reducing the computational complexity is proposed. Using a confidence criterion, some bit nodes and check node edges are detected early on during decoding. Once the edges are detected, no further iteration is required; thus early detection reduces the computational complexity.
The control of the data retention time is a main issue for realizing future high density dynamic random access memory. There are several leakage current mechanisms in which the stored data disappears. The mechanisms of data disappear is as follow, 1 )Junction leakage current between the junction, 2) Junction leakage current from the capacitor node contact, 3)Sub-threshold leakage current if the transfer transistor is affected by gate etch damage etc. In this paper we showed the plasma edge damage effect to find out data retention time effectiveness. First we measured the transistor characteristics of forward and reverse bias. And junction leakage characteristics are measured with/without plasma damage by HP4145. Finally, we showed the comparison TRET with etch damage, damage_cure_RTP and hydrogen_treatment. As a result, hydrogen_treatment is superior than any other method in a curing plasma etch damage side.
The objective of this study was to derive approximate closed-form error rates for M-ary burst symbol transmission (MBST) of dual-hop adaptive decode-and-forward (ADF) cooperative relay systems over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Within a burst, there are pilot symbols and data symbols. Pilot symbols are used for channel estimation schemes and each relay node's transmission mode selection schemes. At first, our focus was on ADF relay systems' error-events at relay nodes. Each event's occurrence probability and probability density function (PDF) were then derived. With error-event based approach, we derived a tractable form of PDF for combined signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Averaged error rates were then derived as approximate expressions for arbitrary link SNR with different modulation orders and numbers of relays. Its accuracy was verified by comparison with simulation results.
A computational method for analysis of the 3 dimensional electro-magnetic induction problems has been developed. The developed method is capable of modeling the induced current and analyzing its characteristics using only scalar Potential at each node. A benchmark model of asymmetrical conductor with a hole is analyzed to verify the application of the developed method. The calculated value of magnetic flux density are compared with the measured value, and the results indicate that the developed method is valid. Also, Comparing with 3-D finite element method (FEM) results, we conformed effectiveness of the developed method for the accuracy and computation times.
FinFETs are able to be scaled down to 22 nm and beyond while suppressing effectively short channel effect, and have superior performance compared to 2-dimensional (2-D) MOSFETs. Bulk FinFETs are built on bulk Si wafers which have less defect density and lower cost than SOI(Silicon-On-Insulator) wafers. In contrast to SOI FinFETs, bulk FinFETs have no floating body effect and better heat transfer rate to the substrate while keeping nearly the same scalability. The bulk FinFET has been developed at 14 nm technology node, and applied in mass production of AP and CPU since 2015. In the development of the bulk FinFETs at 10 nm and beyond, self-heating effects (SHE) is becoming important. Accurate control of device geometry and threshold voltage between devices is also important. The random telegraph noise (RTN) would be problematic in scaled FinFET which has narrow fin width and small fin height.
Ultrasonic field of 28kHz with sound pressure level 162dB has been employed to agglomerate the fine soot particle produces in a diffusion flame in a chamber. The agglomeration process has been investigated with digital camcorder and analysed in terms of the decrease of number density with exposure time. From the observation of agglomeration process, the initial agglomeration has been carried out during the short time, and it has been dominated by the orthokinetic collision. Thereafter, a slower agglomeration mechanism, driven by acoustic streaming in the chamber takes over and agglomeraters grew to diameters of several millimeters were levitated at the pressure node of the acoustic wave. And, the circular disk shape of large agglomeraters with the rotational and translational motion is observed.

Wireless sensor networks represent a new and exciting communication paradigm which could have multiple applications in future wireless communication. Therefore, performance analysis of such a wireless sensor network paradigm is needed in complex wireless channel. Wireless networks could be an important means of providing ubiquitous communication in the future. In this paper, the BER performance of uniform distributed wireless sensor networks is evaluated in non-Gaussian noise channel. Using an analytical approach, the impact of Av. BER performance relating the coherent BPSK system at the end of a multi-hop route versus the spatial density of sensor nodes and impulsive noise parameters A and $\Gamma$ is evaluated.
This letter investigates the combination of the Chase-2 and sum-product (SP) algorithms for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. A simple modification of the tanh rule for check node update is given, which incorporates test error patterns (TEPs) used in the Chase algorithm into SP decoding of LDPC codes. Moreover, a simple yet effective approach is proposed to construct TEPs for dealing with decoding failures with low-weight syndromes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in improving both the waterfall and error floor performance of LDPC codes.
