Research for Development of Furniture Industry in a city of Gangneung and Donghae - Focused on Japanese Case Study and Survey of Local Businesses - (동해 강릉지역의 가구산업 조성을 위한 조사연구 - 일본 사례조사 및 지역 업체의 설문조사를 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to develop furniture industry in eastern district of Gangwondo and a city of Gangneung and Donghae. Case study on furniture complex in Asahikawa, Japan and survey of furniture companies in Gangneung and Donghae city were implemented for understanding of present state, followed by analysis of problems. It can be summarized as follows. First, the basic operation method of Japanese furniture industry is to keep a balance between industry and academy. Universities or centers are in charge of education and fostering talents, such as allowing to promote and to sell products in design center gallery while corporations support it by lending expensive devices and conducting strength test analysis. Second, according to the survey of furniture companies in Gangneung, many difficulties in products development such as a shortage of designer, method, creative design were discovered. With respect to education and human force fostering, education for design and e-commerce were not sufficient, also marketing section has a problem with limited space for display and selling. Corporate support section is facing problems in receiving raw materials, aging of facilities, manufacturing and management methods. Consequently, it is considered that academic and industrial sections should implement their own roles by forming a bilateral network which connects local universities, high schools, relevant organization in the city and providence and furniture manufacturing companies to companies' product development, human force fostering and marketing in an attempt to activate the furniture industry in this area.

A Study on Countermeasures against North Korea's Cyber Attack (북한 사이버공격에 대한 대응방안에 관한 연구)

  • As North Korea has a sufficient ability to attack our society's vulnerable computer network, various large-scale cyber attacks are expected to be tried. North Korea's cyber military strength is known a world-class level. The number of its cyber agents is increasing consistently. Recently North Korea's cyber attack has been made regardless of trick and target. But up to now North Korea's cyber attack is more of an exploration than a real attack. Its purpose was to check how fast Korea found a problem and recovered from it. In future, cyber attack that damages substantially is highly probable. In case of an attack against national infrastructure like traffic, financial and energy services, the extent of the damage will be great beyond imagination. In this paper, characteristics of recent North Korea's cyber attack is addressed in depth and countermeasures such as the enactment of cyber terror prevention law, simulation training enforcement, private and public cooperation system construction, cyber security infrastructure expansion, etc. are proposed.

Secure Bootstrapping Methods of a Mobile Node on the Mobile IPv6 Network (IPv6기반 이동인터넷 환경에서 이동노드의 안전한 시동에 관한 방법)

  • At IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), recently RFC3775, RFC3776 documents about the mobile IPv6 were standardized by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). Those specifications propose that during the roaming, the mobile node sends securely the binding update to the home agent and the correspondent node after setting the security association between Mobile Node and Home Agent. But there is no secure bootstrapping method between a mobile node and a home agent at the two RFC documents. This paper proposed a method for the secure bootstrapping between a mobile node and a home agent. This makes the authentication, binding update, home agent assignment, security association distribution through the AAA-based secure channel between mobile node and home agent. And the proposed method was analyzed in the view of the procedure, round trip and security strength.

  • The strength of our country is based on high-speed networks to build a nationwide health information network to improve the quality of health care is needed. However, nature of the medical services in the hospital medical record form, so that all departments characterize each medical department, a common format that can be used for all disease is a very difficult challenge. This study is one of the ways to improve this priority issue on health information sharing medical information system(PACS/HIS) information linkage between the problem of information, compatibility and security issues derived. The problem is derived from the requirements of theorem 3 to 6 items. This is effective in order to improve sharing of medical information for the purpose of designing the software system. Sharing of medical information software system design are derived from stakeholders, requirements analysis, architecture design, software framework, configuration, architecture evaluation process. This study is based on the medical information standardization environmental diagnosis of a medical information system design. Software design philosophy is based on a new framework for deriving the function and mechanism made up.

  • An alternative design method of existing methods based on elastic theory the design method of roadbed considering plastic deformation of roadbed and stress-strain at roadbed materials with the cyclic loading of trains passing. The characteristics of the developed design method considering traffic load, number of cyclic loading and resilience modulus of roadbed materials can evaluate elastic strain as well as plastic settlement with allowable design criteria. The proposed design method is applied to standard roadbed section drawing of HONAM high-speed railway considering design conditions such as allowable elastic and plastic settlement, train speed, the tonnage of trains. As a result, required levels of resilience modulus model parameter ($A_E$), unconfined compressive strength, types of soil material were evaluated.

Influence of SF6/N2 Gas Mixture Ratios on the Lightning Streamer Propagation Characteristics of 22 kV MV Circuit Breaker

  • In recent times, gas insulated medium voltage (MV) circuit breakers (CB) form a vital component in power system network, considering its advantages such as reduced size and safety margins. Gas insulation characteristics of circuit breakers are generally measured by lightning impulse (LI) test according to IEC standard 60060-1 as a factory routine test. Considering the environmental issues of $SF_6$ gas, many research works are being carried out towards the mixture of $SF_6$ gases for high voltage insulation applications. However, few reports are only available regarding the LI withstand and streamer propagation characteristics (at both positive and negative polarity of waveform) of $SF_6/N_2$ gas mixture insulated medium voltage circuit breakers. In this paper, positive and negative polarity LI tests are carried out on 22 kV medium voltage circuit breaker filled with $SF_6/N_2$ gas mixture at different gas pressures (1-5 bar) and at different gas mixture ratios. Important LI parameters such as breakdown voltage, streamer velocity, time to breakdown and acceleration voltage are evaluated with IEC standard LI ($1.2/50{\mu}s$) waveform. Weibull distribution analysis of LI breakdown voltage data is carried out and 50% probability breakdown voltage, scale parameter and shape parameter are evaluated. Results illustrate that the $25%SF_6+75%N_2$ gas filled insulation considerably enhances the LI withstand and breakdown strength of MV circuit breakers. LI breakdown voltage of circuit breaker under negative polarity shows higher value when compared with positive polarity. Results show that maintaining the gas pressure at 0.3 MPa (3 bar) with 10% $SF_6$ gas mixed with 90% $N_2$ will give optimum lighting impulse withstand performance of 22 kV MV circuit breaker.

  • Recent complex battle field demands Network Centric Warfare(NCW) ability to control various parts into a cohesive unit. In path planning filed, the NCW ability increases complexity of path planning algorithm, and it has to consider a communication coverage map as well as traditional parameters such as minimum radar exposure and survivability. In this paper, pros and cons of various propagation models are summarized, and we suggest a coverage map generation method using a Longley-Rice propagation model. Previous coverage map based on line of sight has significant discontinuities that limits selection of path planning algorithms such as Dijkstra and fast marching only. If there is method to remove discontinuities in the coverage map, optimization based path planning algorithms such as trajectory optimization and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) can also be used. In this paper, the Longley-Rice propagation model is used to calculate continuous RF strengths, and convert the strength data using smoothed leaky BER for the coverage map. In addition, we also suggest other types of rough coverage map generation using a lookup table method with simple inputs such as terrain type and antenna heights only. The implemented communication coverage map can be used various path planning algorithms, especially in the optimization based algorithms.

A UE Position Tracking Method for Optical Beamforming Transmission in Visible Light Communications (가시광 통신 시스템에서 광 빔포밍 전송을 위한 유저 단말 추적 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel UE(User Equipment) position tracking algorithm of visible light signals, and analyze BER performance when optical beamforming scheme is applied in VLC(Visible Light Communications) system. The optical beamforming scheme as an interference mitigation method provides good optical channel conditions between UE(Rx) and LED light(Tx), and lead to better BER performance because UE is able to get a better RSSI(Received Signal strength indication) value. For the system BER, the proposed UE position tracking method for optical beamforming transmission demonstrates the performance enhancement compared to a system not applied the optical beamforming transmission scheme, and up to about 5~6dB SNR performance gain is achieved. The results of the paper can be applied to design of various VLC and LBS applications for ubiquitous home network systems.

The Effect of Thermal Exposure on the Microstructural Evolution and Tensile Properties in Cast Hastelloy X (Hastelloy X 주조재의 열간 노출에 따른 미세조직 및 인장 특성 변화)

  • Microstructural evolution of cast Hastelloy X during thermal exposure has been investigated. OM, SEM, and TEM microscopy were carried out on the as-cast, the standard heat treated, and the thermally exposed conditions. Tensile tests were also conducted to understand the effect of microstructural evolution on the degradation of tensile properties. Coarse $M_6C$ and fine $M_{23}C_6$ carbides were found in as-cast Hastelloy X with fine carbides on sub-boundary. Some of $M_{23}C_6$ carbide dissolved into the matrix during solution heat treatment and dislocation network formed at the interface between the carbide and the matrix due to the misfit strain. There was no significant microstructural difference between the exposed specimens at $400^{\circ}C$ and the solution heat treated specimen. A large amount of $M_{23}C_6$ carbides precipitated along and near grain boundaries and sub-boundaries after exposure at $650^{\circ}C$. Exposure at $870^{\circ}C$ of the alloy caused precipitation of $M_6C$ and ${\mu}$. The strength increased and the elongation decreased by thermal exposure at $650^{\circ}C$ and $870^{\circ}C$ because carbides interfere with the movement of the dislocation. It was found that the precipitation of carbide gave significant effects on the tensile properties of Hastelloy X.

A Design of Sensor Framework for Low-Power Transmission in the WSN Environment based on WPAN (WPAN 기반의 WSN 환경에서 저전력 송신을 위한 센서 프레임워크 설계)

  • In the existing RF communication based WPAN environment, a lowering of battery span and interference problem among sensors occur because the value of output is set and transmitted steadily when the system on sensor is initialized. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework and a transmit method with low power which decreases the electricity consumption by properly controling transmit power of opponent by received signal strength indicator(RSSI) of each sensor. The system proposes a power-lowering method by controling transmit power properly by the transmit intensity of the connected sensor after being affected by the transmit intensity of surrounded sensor. The framework that is proposed in this paper includes data transmit module, transmit power manager module, transmit power searching module, signal transmit module, and signal receiving module.
