  • Dumbbell is the most basic topology that can be used in almost all kind of network experiment within it or just by little expansion. While Transmission Control Protocol TCP is the basic protocol that is used for the connectivity among networks and stations. TCP major and basic goal is to provide path and services to different applications for communication. For that reason TCP has to transfer a lot of data through a communication medium that cause serious congestion problem. To calculate the congestion problem, different kind of pre-cure solutions are developer which are Loss Based Variant and Delay Based Variant. While LBV keep track of the data that is going to be passed through TCP protocol, if the data packets start dropping that means congestion occurrence which notify as a symptom, TCP CUBIC use LBV for notifying the loss. Similarly the DBV work with the acknowledgment procedure that is used in when data ACK get late with respect to its set data rate time, TCP COMPOUND/VAGAS are examples of DBV. Many algorithms have been purposed to control the congestion in different TCP variants but the loss of data packets did not completely controlled. In this paper, the congestion control algorithms are implemented and corresponding results are analyzed in Dumbbell topology, it is typically used to analyze the TCP traffic flows. Fairness of throughput is evaluated for different TCP variants using network simulator (NS-2).

  • Consider a job shop that is modelled as an open queueing network of the Jackson(l957) type. All work stations in the shop have the same number of parallel servers. Two problems are studied : the loading of stations and the assignment of servers, which are represented by loading and assingment vectors, respectively. Ma jorization and arrangement orderings are established to order, respectively, the loading and the assignment vectors. It is shown that reducing the loading vector under ma jorizat ion or increasing the assignment vector under arrangement ordering will reduce the congestion in the shop in terms of reducing the total number of jobs(in the sense of likelihood ratio ordering), the maximum queue length(in the sense of stochastic ordering), and the queue-length vector( in the sense of stochastic majorization). The results can be used to supprot production planning in certain job shops, and to aid the desing of storage capacity. • In this paper, by a simple example it is shown that existing market-based criteria alone cannot completely and correctly evaluate the transmission network expansion from market view. However criteria congestion cost (CC) and social welfare (SW) together are able to correctly evaluate transmission network from market view and so they are adopted for the market-based transmission expansion planning. To simply indicate the limits of CC and SW social welfare percentage (SWP) and congestion cost percentage (CCP) are defined. To consider uncertainty in bids of market producers and consumers, and also indeterminacy in the acceptable boundaries of the SWP and CCP and their priorities, fuzzy assessment approach is used. In this approach, appropriate fuzzy sets and a fuzzy rule base are provided to evaluate the acceptability of an expansion plan. Then, the least-investment cost plan, which is acceptable in all probable scenarios, is searched. The proposed method is applied to an 8-bus system.

  • We apply a "sliding-window" Maximum Likelihood(ML) estimator to estimate traffic parameters On-Off source and develop a method for estimating stochastic predicted individual cell arrival rates. Based on these results, we propose a simple Connection Admission Control(CAC)scheme for delay sensitive services in broadband onboard packet switching satellite systems. The algorithms are motivated by the limited onboard satellite buffer, the large propagation delay, and low computational capabilities inherent in satellite communication systems. We develop an algorithm using the predicted individual cell loss ratio instead of using steady state cell loss ratios. We demonstrate the CAC benefits of this approach over using steady state cell loss ratios as well as predicted total cell loss ratios. We also derive the predictive saturation probability and the predictive cell loss ratio and use them to control the total number of connections. Predictive congestion control mechanisms allow a satellite network to operate in the optimum region of low delay and high throughput. This is different from the traditional reactive congestion control mechanism that allows the network to recover from the congested state. Numerical and simulation results obtained suggest that the proposed predictive scheme is a promising approach for real time CAC.

  • This paper provides a new approach to analyze the stability of a general multi-link TCP Vegas, which is a kind of feedback-based congestion algorithm. Whereas the conventional approaches use the approximately linearized model of the TCP Vegas along equilibrium pints, this approach models a multi-link TCP Vegas network in the form of a piecewise linear multiple time-delay system. And then, based on the exactly characterized dynamic model, this paper presents a new stability criterion via a piecewise and multiple delay-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii function. Especially, the resulting stability criterion is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

Whereas the conventional approaches use the approximately linearized model of the TCP Vegas along equilibrium points, this approach uses the exactly characterized dynamic model to get a new stability criterion via a piecewise and delay-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii function. Using the new criterion, this paper shows that the current TCP Vegas algorithm is stable in the sufficiently wide region of network delay and link capacity.

  • Wired and wireless communication technique is growing rapidly. As the number of communication users is larger problems such as network congestion and signal interference between users are getting most important, There have been researches that try to solve them by control theoretic approaches. They apply various control theories to the control issues of communication. this paper surveys these researches and classifies them into ATM TCP/IP and wireless communication according to the target. The feedback control model of each communication protocol is shown and related researches are summarized and analyzed.

  • TCP does not distinguish between congestion and packet losses due to route change and link failures, which are prevalent in mobile ad hoc networks. So, TCP does not show satisfactory performance in ad hoc networks since it assumes that all packet losses are due to network congestions. In particular, when a route is reestablished it needs to be adaptively determined CWND according to the new route features. In this paper, we proposed CWND adjustment scheme to improve the TCP performance overad hoc networks. TCP sender effectively adjusts CWND by monitoring the network situation using control packets. Simulation results using NS-2 show that the proposed scheme increases TCP throughput compared with those of general TCP.

  • This paper presents a force-reflecting teleoperation scheme with time delay. In reciprocal systems, to improve the stability and performance of the tleleoperation system, the network provides a wide bandwidth, no congestion. However, as use of Internet increases, congestion situation of network increased and transmission time and packet loss increased accordingly. This can make system unstable at remote control. In this paper, we present a passive control scheme for a force reflecting bilateral teleoperation system via the Internet and we investigated how a varying time delay affects the stability of a teleoperation system. A new approach based on a passive control scheme was designed for the system. The simulation results and the tracking performance of the implemented system are presented in this paper.

  • Wireless Sensor Network typically incorporates various real time applications that must meet timing constraints under severe resource limitations. Due to the high data rate and burst traffic for that type of applications, occurrence of congestion is very common. Ensuring the end-to-end deadline under congested scenario is quite challenging. In this paper we propose a hop-by-hop rate control algorithm which avoids the congestion as well as ensures that the real time traffic will meet the end-to-end deadline by guaranteeing the meeting of local deadline at intermediate hop. Finally, simulation has demonstrated the effectiveness of our approach.
