This study was to find out children's Negotiation Levels(NLs) according to their age and gender. The subjects for this study were 143 children of 7, 9, 12 years. Two children dyads participated in the experimental play situation with Rokenbok Electronic Toy Systems. The NLs in children's interactive dialogue & actions were scored with Stone, Robinson & Taylor(1980)'s 'Negotiation of Task Completion Coding Manual'. They were coded into Level 0(no interaction), Level l(one way interaction), Level 2(reciprocally interaction), Level 3(mutual or cooperative interaction). The results were as follows; 1) 12-year-old children negotiated with higher level than 7-and 9-year old children 2) Boys' NLs average were higher than girls'. These results imply that 1) the fluctuation of NLs in childhood, especially around 10 years, should be interpreted carefully, 2) various measuring kits for negotiation should be developed considering children's characteristics, such as age, gender etc.

One of the major issues in emerging cloud management system needs the efficient service level agreement negotiation framework, with an optimal negotiation strategy. Most researchers focus mainly on the atomic service negotiation model, with the assistance of the Agent Controller in the broker part to reduce the total negotiation time, and communication overhead to some extent. This research focuses mainly on composite service negotiation, to further minimize both the total negotiation time and communication overhead through the pre-request optimization of broker strategy. The main objective of this research work is to introduce an Automated Dynamic Service Level Agreement Negotiation Framework (ADSLANF), which consists of an Intelligent Third-party Broker for composite service negotiation between the consumer and the service provider. A broker consists of an Intelligent Third-party Broker Agent, Agent Controller and Additional Agent Controller for managing and controlling its negotiation strategy. The Intelligent third-party broker agent manages the composite service by assigning its atomic services to multiple Agent Controllers. Using the Additional Agent Controllers, the Agent Controllers manage the concurrent negotiation with multiple service providers. In this process, the total negotiation time value is reduced partially. Further, the negotiation strategy is optimized in two stages, viz., Classified Similarity Matching (CSM) approach, and the Truncated Negotiation Group Gale Shapely Stable Matching (TNGGSSM) approach, to minimize the communication overhead.
This study examines the normalization of Korean GM management between the Korean government and GM in terms of external negotiation game and internal negotiation game using Putnam's Two-Level Games. In addition, GM's Win-set change and negotiation strategy were analyzed. This analysis suggested implications for the optimal negotiation strategy for mutual cooperation between multinational corporations and local governments in the global business environment. First, the negotiation strategy for Korea's normalization of GM management in Korea can be shifted to both the concession theory and the opposition theory depending on the situation change and the government policy centered on the cautious theory. Second, GM will maximize its bargaining power through 'brink-end tactics' by utilizing the fact that the labor market is stabilized, which is the biggest weakness of the Korean government, while maintaining a typical Win-set reduction strategy. GM will be able to restructure at any time in terms of global management strategy, and if the financial support of the Korean government is provided, it will maintain the local factory but withdraw the local plant at the moment of stopping the support. In negotiations on the normalization of GM management in Korea, it is necessary to prepare a problem and countermeasures for various scenarios and to maintain a balance so that the policy does not deviate to any one side.
Purpose - The paper aims to propose an optimization model for supporting the buyer-seller negotiations. We consider the price, quality, and delivery as evaluation criteria, also recognized as objectives for negotiation. Research design, data, and methodology - The methodology used in this paper involves the input-oriented DEA with the inverse optimization. Under the existence of several potential suppliers, the price would be considered to be the decision variable to conclude the negotiation so as to meet the desired level of the quality and delivery. The data set for six suppliers with three criteria is examined by the proposed approach. Results - We present the decision aid model by displaying the price spectrum as the changes of desired output levels. It overcomes the shortcomings from previous researches mainly based on the discrete types of scenario generations. This approach shows that the obtained results help the buyer understand the trade-offs between price and performance when he/she considers the negotiation. Conclusions - The paper contributes to the numerical models for buyer-supplier negotiation in that the model for the supplier evaluation and selection is closely linked with the model for negotiation. In addition, it eliminates the unrealistic negotiation strategy, and provides the negotiation strategies that the buyer would not shift the burden on suppliers by maintaining the current efficiency.
This study examines the close relationship between trust and global business negotiations. Kristen Blankley(2010) pointed out three level of trust impacting each negotiation stage: calculus-, knowledge-, identification-based trust. In this regard, the present study examines the relationship between each level of trust and the process of business negotiations by focusing on Canadians and Koreans who had business negotiation experience with Chinese counterparts. For Canadian respondents, calculus-based trust and identification-based trust didn't have significant effects on the negotiation atmosphere, whereas they did for Korean respondents. For Canadian respondents, knowledge-based trust had the greatest effect on each step of the business negotiation process.
This article investigates the negotiation landscape of WTO ITA(Information Technology Agreement) expansion negotiation which is the most recently concluded plurilateral trade agreement under WTO. Using the trade flow data of each country and product, this study explores analytical indicators to identify the overall characteristics of the negotiation and negotiation position each participant might make. Results identified that the negotiation was generally led by export-oriented countries, especially East Asian countries. Country level negotiation positions at each sub-sector are also discussed in this study.
The purpose of this paper is to find what factors have an influential effect on motive and intention of using the unethical negotiation tactics. It is interesting to find that opportunism was not related to unethical negotiation tactics such as inappropriate information gathering and competitive bargaining in our Korea's sample. On the other hand, idealism and Machiavellianism had positive impact on managers' perceptions of unethical negotiation tactics within our sample. To explain the environmental perspective, the lower level of legal punishment system encourages them to use the unethical tactics without hesitation. On the other hand, organizational goal might have not a related on the perception of unethical negotiation tactics. To reduce the potential risk of use of unethical negotiation in the international negotiation process, international negotiators should find the counterpart negotiator' character before attending negotiation table, and international managers would be better to employ a local agent who can understand local negotiating counterpart, so they can assist them in early stage of negotiation.
This study is trying to suggest the continuity and changes that would be made in inter-Korean military negotiations in the future under the Kim Jeong-eun regime by analyzing the recent inter-Korean Working-Level Talks for Gaeseong Industrial Complex based on 'anti-Japanese guerilla style negotiation model, the military negotiation model under Kim Jeong-il era. Especially, through analysis of the inter-Korean Working-Level Talks for Gaeseong Industrial Complex, it is verified that behavior similar to that in the military talks in the past is found even in the economic negotiations. Such analysis leads to an assumption that negotiations under the Kim Jeong-eun regime would be made within the category of the military negotiations under the Kim Jeong-il era. Fundamentally North Korea will change but try to achieve its objectives in the military talks within the existing frame of strategic culture rather than changing it. Such phenomenon will continue for some time. In the future inter-Korean military talks, however, North Korea will try to change its behavior to cope with its financial difficulties. Accordingly, the South Korea's government will have to have paradigm shift toward inter-Korean military negotiations. Especially, Kim Jeong-eun's studying abroad in the past will make him change in the negotiations. At this moment, the South Korean government must make continuous efforts to induce dialogue and negotiation. In order to induce the North Korea to change, the development of economic norm logic with the united front applied in the strategic culture of military negotiation and the formation of a value system in the North Korea's military negotiation policy makers will lead to the creation of a new military negotiation framework.
This study is to conduct a stakeholder analysis using Project Stakeholder Management Model established by US Project Management Institute (or PMI) in order to identify current stakeholder related to Korea's trade policy and to establish the stakeholder management process for Korea's trade negotiation. Project Stakeholder Management Model includes four stages such as identifying, planning, managing, and controling stakeholder. The stakeholder management process for Korea's trade negotiation classifies domestic stakeholder into two category; internal stakeholder and external stakeholder. This research suggests that Korea should invite consumer groups, labor unions, and farmer's association into the official communication channel of trade authority while unifying the current stakeholder management divisions and relevant advisory committees within the trade ministry.
The Internet has become a part of our life and has changed our living environments dramatically. However, Electronic Commerce (EC) stays currently at a level that a buyer deals only with an one-sided condition (price) proposed by a seller or compares the proposed condition to find a better one. As the agent technology makes progress, EC requires negotiation that is not one-sided but is a way to maximize profits of both seller and buyer. Moreover, negotiation in EC should consider multiple issues rather than a single issue to replace the traditional commerce. In this paper we propose a negotiation model, which guarantees balanced profits between two agents through negotiation using multi-issues, and makes a deal successfully under time-constraint environment. The proposed negotiation model suggests strategies(alternative and simultaneous strategy) that change the value of issues with each agent has time for negotiation. In this paper, we also suggest a strategy that proposes an offer to each other. We compare the proposed negotiation model with another negotiation model. The experimental results show that dynamic conceder tactic and linear tactic showed balanced profits and a high percentage of deals for negotiation between two agents, and the sum of utilities of two agents is high, when the alternative strategy is used.
