  • Magnetohydrostatic equilibria, in which the Lorentz force, the plasma pressure force and the gravitational force balance out to zero, are widely adopted as the zeroth order states of many astrophysical plasma structures. A magnetic flux-current surface is a surface, in which both magnetic field lines and current lines lie. We for the first time derive the necessary and sufficient condition for existence of magnetic flux-current surfaces in magnetohydrostatic equilibria. It is also shown that the existence of flux-current surfaces is a necessary (but not sufficient) condition for the ratio of gravity-aligned components of current density and magnetic field to be constant along each field line. However, its necessary and sufficient condition is found to be very restrictive. This finding gives a significant constraint in modeling solar coronal magnetic fields as force-free fields using photospheric magnetic field observations.

  • Although the properties of flatness and condition (E) for Sacts over a monoid S are incomparable, Liu([10]) showed that necessary and sufficient condition for a monoid S over which all left S-acts that satisfy condition (E) are flat is the regularity of S. But the problem of describing a monoid over which all cyclic flat left S-acts satisfy condition (E) is still open. Thus the purpose of this paper is to characterize monoids over which all cyclic flat right S-acts satisfy condition (E).

  • This paper presents a method for evaluating the mixed nash equilibria of the Cournot model for N-Gencos. in wholesale electricity market. In the wholesale electricity market, the strategies of N-Genco. can be applied to the game model under the conditions which the Gencos. determine their stratgies to maximize their benefit. Generally, the Lemke algorithm is evaluated the mixed nash equlibria in the two-player game model. However, the necessary condition for the mixed equlibria of N-player are modified as the necessary condition of N-1 player by analyzing the Lemke algorithms. Although reducing the necessary condition for N-player as the one of N-1 player, it is difficult to and the mixed nash equilibria participated two more players by using the mathmatical approaches since those have the nonlinear characteristics. To overcome the above problem, this paper presents the generalized necessary condition for N-player and proposed the object function to and the mixed nash equlibrium. Also, to evaluate the mixed equilibrium through the nonlinear objective function, the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) as one of the heuristic algorithm are proposed in this paper. To present the mixed equlibria for the strategy of N-Gencos. through the proposed necessry condition and the evaluation approach, this paper proposes the mixed equilibrium in the cournot game model for 3-players.

  • In this paper we formulate an optimal control problem governed by time-delay Volterra integral equations; the problem includes control constraints as well as terminal equality and inequality constraints on the terminal state variables. First, using a special type of state and control variations, we represent a relatively simple and self-contained method for deriving new necessary conditions in the form of Pontryagin minimum principle. We show that these results immediately yield classical Pontryagin necessary conditions for control processes governed by ordinary differential equations (with or without delay). Next, imposing suitable convexity conditions on the functions involved, we derive Mangasarian-type and Arrow-type sufficient optimality conditions.

  • The reason of the confusion of learners about the logic concepts such as implication, necessary condition and sufficient condition can be analyzed from the point of view of history of logic, discrepancy between ordinary language and formal logic, and reification which occurs in the process of cognition of discursive object and also indicates the necessity of a research. This study analysed the difficulties related to study and implication concept and attempted to the reflection of textbook and curriculum. Not that ordinary language makes the introduction of formal language easier, but that this study discussed the possibilities ordinary language intervenes the learning of formal language. This study additionally intended to understand learning difficulties of concrete subjects, abstract subjects and the gap between primary object and discursive object by understanding the process of sagging, encapsulating and reifying.

  • In this paper, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for a left invariant connection in the tangent bundle over a closed Lie group with a left invariant metric to be a Yang-Mills connection. Moreover, we have a necessary and sufficient condition for a left invariant connection with a torsion-free Weyl structure in the tangent bundle over SU(2) with a left invariant Riemannian metric g to be a Yang-Mills connection.

  • In this paper we investigate necessary conditions for the mirror algebra $(M(X),{\bigoplus},(0,0))$ to be a $d$-algebra (having the condition (D5), resp.) when (X, *, 0) is a d-algebra (having the condition (D5), resp.). Moreover, we obtain the necessary conditions for M(X) of a $d^*$-algebra X to be a $d^*$-algebra.

  • In [1], M. Guignard considered a constraint set in a Banach space, which is similar to that in [2] and gave a first order necessary optimality condition which generalized the Kuhn-Tucker conditions [3]. Sufficiency is proved for objective functions which is either pseudoconcave [5] or quasi-concave [6] where the constraint sets are taken pseudoconvex. In this note, we consider a psedoconvex programming problem in a Hilbert space. Constraint set in a Hillbert space being pseudoconvex and the objective function is restrained by an operator equation. Then we use the methods similar to that in [1] and [6] to obtain a necessary and sufficient optimality condition.

  • We find a necessary and sufficient condition that the prime factors of $A^m+1$ and $A^n+1$ coincide for odd positive integers $n>m{\geq}1$. Moreover, we also find a necessary and sufficient condition that the set of all prime factors of $A^m+1$ is a subset of those of $A^n+1$ for $n>m{\geq}1$.
