Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare degrees of asthenopia in after wearing of dispensed reading glasses with different criterion of P.D. Methods: The person who has minus near correction power (distance correction value (-)) is compared to the degree of asthenopia by wearing of dispensed reading glasses with near P.D(-B) and distance P.D. The person who has plus near correction power is compared to degree of asthenopia by wearing of dispensed reading glasses with near P.D-B, distance P.D, near P.D-A. The "Near-P.D-A" means reduced optical centre distance of reading glasses of positive correction value at which the same effect of prism B.O through near visual point in distance glasses exist at near visual point in reading glasses. Results: When near correction value is (-), dispensed reading glasses with distance P.D have caused less asthenopia than dispensed glasses with near P.D-B. When the near correction value is (+), we cannot confirm that which P.D is more useful for reading glasses. As a result of this study, dispensed reading glasses with near P.D-A have caused less asthenopia than another criterion of P.D. Conclusion: The effect of prism B.I through a near visual point in distance glasses ((-) correction value) reduce convergence demand. Therefore (-) correction value-reading glasses support convergence in near vision, because the effect of prism B.I of reading glasses is smaller than that of distance glasses. When the near correction value is (+), centration points can be determined by one of near P.D-A, near P.D-B, distance P.D.
Let V={(x,y,z):f=z$^{n}$ -npz+(n-1)q=0 for n .geq. 3} be a compled analytic subvariety of a polydisc in $C^{3}$ where p=p(x,y) and q=q(x,y) are holomorphic near (x,y)=(0,0) and f is an irreducible Weierstrass polynomial in z of multiplicity n. Suppose that V has an isolated singular point at the origin. Recall that the z-discriminant of f is D(f)=c(p$^{n}$ -q$^{n-1}$) for some number c. Suppose that D(f) is square-free. then we prove that by Theorem 2.1 .mu.(p$^{n}$ -q$^{n-1}$)=.mu.(f)-(n-1)+n(n-2)I(p,q)+1 where .mu.(f), .mu. p$^{n}$ -q$^{n-1}$are the corresponding Milnor numbers of f, p$^{n}$ -q$^{n-1}$, respectively and I(p,q) is the intersection number of p and q at the origin. By one of applications suppose that W$_{t}$ ={(x,y,z):g$_{t}$ =z$^{n}$ -np$_{t}$$^{n-1}$z+(n-1)q$_{t}$$^{n-1}$=0} is a smooth family of complex analytic varieties near t=0 each of which has an isolated singularity at the origin, satisfying that the z-discriminant of g$_{t}$ , that is, D(g$_{t}$ ) is square-free. If .mu.(g$_{t}$ ) are constant near t=0, then we prove that the family of plane curves, D(g$_{t}$ ) are equisingular and also D(f$_{t}$ ) are equisingular near t=0 where f$_{t}$ =z$^{n}$ -np$_{t}$ z+(n-1)q$_{t}$ =0.}$ =0.

For this study, we developed clothing in which textile materials that were excellent weather control function for the cold environment and we performed the human subject test with developed clothing to determine the thermal comfort. We used 2 clothing samples developed (A and B, hollow yarn+moisture absorption/quick drying yarn, 3 layers, high stretchable, heat reflection film and lamination treated) and a control sample (Ctrl.) for the human subject test and 8 adult males were used as a human subjects and environmental conditions of chamber were $0{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. $50{\pm}5%RH$, 0.3m/sec. The results were as follows: The average skin temperature and hand, thigh temperature of B were higher than B and Ctrl. (p<.05). The micro-climates of B were near to thermal comfort range which is $32{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ and $50{\pm}10%\;RH$. The chest temperature of B was significantly higher than others (p<.05). The relative humidity of B was lower than others and kept stable rather than others. The thermal sensation of B was near the "neutral" and was significantly different from Ctrl. (p<.01) and the weight loss of B was lower than Ctrl. (p<.05). The counting task and hand temperature was positively related and the counting task value of B and A is bigger than Ctrl. and that of A was bigger than Ctrl. (p<.05).

Objective : Compared to microscopes, exoscopes have advantages in field-depth, ergonomics, and educational value. Exoscopes are especially well-poised for adaptation into fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS) due to their excitation source, light path, and image processing capabilities. We evaluated the feasibility of near-infrared FGS using a 3-dimensional (3D), 4 K exoscope with near-infrared fluorescence imaging capability. We then compared it to the most sensitive, commercially-available near-infrared exoscope system (3D and 960 p). In-vitro and intraoperative comparisons were performed. Methods : Serial dilutions of indocyanine-green (1-2000 ㎍/mL) were imaged with the 3D, 4 K Olympus Orbeye (system 1) and the 3D, 960 p VisionSense Iridium (system 2). Near-infrared sensitivity was calculated using signal-to-background ratios (SBRs). In addition, three patients with brain tumors were administered indocyanine-green and imaged with system 1, with two also imaged with system 2 for comparison. Results : Systems 1 and 2 detected near-infrared fluorescence from indocyanine green concentrations of >250 ㎍/L and >31.3 ㎍/L, respectively. Intraoperatively, system 1 visualized strong near-infrared fluorescence from two, strongly gadolinium-enhancing meningiomas (SBR=2.4, 1.7). The high-resolution, bright images were sufficient for the surgeon to appreciate the underlying anatomy in the near-infrared mode. However, system 1 was not able to visualize fluorescence from a weakly-enhancing intraparenchymal metastasis. In contrast, system 2 successfully visualized both the meningioma and the metastasis but lacked high resolution stereopsis. Conclusion : Three-dimensional exoscope systems provide an alternative visualization platform for both standard microsurgery and near-infrared fluorescent guided surgery. However, when tumor fluorescence is weak (i.e., low fluorophore uptake, deep tumors), highly sensitive near-infrared visualization systems may be required.

A MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) mixer chip using the Schottky diode of an GaAs p-HEMT process has been developed for the I/Q demodulator of non-contact near field microwave probing system. A single balanced mixer type is adopted to achieve simple structure of the I/Q demodulator. A quadrature hybrid coupler and a quarter wavelength transmission line for 180 degree hybrid are realized with lumped elements of MIM capacitor and spiral inductor to reduce the mixer chip size. According to the on-wafer measurement, this MMIC mixer covers RF and LO frequencies of 1650MHz to 2050MHz with flat conversion loss. The MMIC mixer with miniature size of $2.5mm{\times}1.7mm$ demonstrates conversion loss below 12dB for both variations of RF and LO frequencies, LO-to-IF isolation above 43dB and RF-to-IF isolation above 23dB, respectively.

This paper presents the implementation of wide-band RFIC amplifier operating from near 50 MHz to 3 GHz using Tachyonics SiGe HBT foundry. Voltage shunt feedback is used for the flat gain and the broad band impedance matching. Initial design parameters are calculated through the low frequency small signal analysis. Since the HBT model was not available at the design time, discrete tuning board was made for fine adjustment in the low frequency range. Fabricated amplifier shows 12 dB gain with 1 dB fluctuation and P1 dB reaches 15 dBm at 850 MHz.

M channel near-perfect-reconstruction(NPR) pseudo-QMF banks are a hybrid of conventional pseudo-QMF design and spectral factorization approach where the analysis and synthesis filters are cosine-modulated versions of the prototype-lowpass filter(p-LPF). However, p-LPF H(z) does not have linear-phase symmetry as well as magnitude-distortion optimization since it is obtained by spectral factorization of $2M^{-th}$ band filter $G(z)=z^{-(N-1)}H(z^{-1})H(z)$. A fair amount of attention, therefore, has been focused on the design of filter banks for reducing only alias-cancellation distortion without reconstructed-amplitude distortion. In this paper, we propose a new method for designing linear-phase p-LPF in NPR pseudo-QMF banks, which is based on Maxflat(maximally flat) FIR filters with closed-form transfer function. In addition, p-LPF H(z) is optimized in this approach so that the 2M-channel overall distortion response represented with $G(z)=H^2(z)$ approximately becomes an unit magnitude response. Through several examples of NPR pseudo-QMF banks, it is shown that the peek ripple of the overall magnitude distortion is less than $3.5{\times}10^{-4}\;({\simeq}-70dB)$ and analysis/synthesis filters have the sharp monotone-stopband attenuation exceeding 100 dB.
We estimated monthly and annual secondary productivity of pelagic zooplankton in Lake Paldang and Lake Cheongpyong. Secondary productivity was calculated by combining estimated zooplankton biomass and biomass-specific productivity for each site and depth from March to November 2008. In addition to somatic production, we measured production of eggs and exuviae for three dominant species: Daphnia galeata, Bosmina longirostris, Cyclops sp. In terms of biomass, B. longirostris was dominant in Lake Paldang in April and May, B. longirostris showed explosive biomass growth, especially in May. In June and July, B. longirostris and D. galeata were both dominant. Lake Cheongpyeong showed much lower zooplankton biomass than Lake Paldang. In August, there was little or no biomass in both lakes probably due to heavy rain. The Gyeongan River contributed most of the secondary productivity and B. longirostris contributed the most secondary productivity in Lake Paldang. D. galeata also contributed in the Gyeongan River, the South Han River and at the Paldang Dam in spring and fall. Overall, Lake Cheongpyeong showed lower secondary productivity than Lake Paldang. B. longirostris made the largest contribution to secondary productivity in the Cheongpyeong Dam area while D. galeata contributed the most near Nami Island. Somatic production constituted ~80% of the total secondary productivity (the sum of somatic, egg and exuvia production) for D. galeata and B. longirostris. Although production-to-biomass (P/B) ratios were usually <<1 B. longirostris sometimes showed very high P/B ratios, probably due to fish predation. D. galeata showed much lower P/B ratios than B. longirostris after the summer at most sites.
We investigated the visual analysis of the far distance phoria for 83 subjects who have emmetropia or myopia eyes, using the graphic method, and determined new norms. We got the following results from these experiments. 1. The measured norm of far distance phoria is $1.12{\Delta}$, exophoria, the that of near distance phoria is $0.50{\Delta}$, exophoria, the that of negative relative convergence at far distance(N.R.C.) is ${\times}$/11/5, the that of positive relative convergence at far distance(P.R.C.) is 10/20/8, the that negative relative convergence at near distance(N.R.C.) is 11/21/5, the that of positive relative convergence at near(P.R.C.) is 10/20/8, the that of negative relative accommodation(N.R.A.) is +2.54D, and the that of positive relative accommodation(P.R.A.) is -2.60D, respectively. We know from theses results that the measured norms of far distancet phoria is higher than Morgan's norms, while those of near distance phoria are lower than Morgan's norms. 2. We also know from these experiments that Morgan's norms are closely related to A, B, and C groups and Morgan's criterion can more usefully apply to the visual analysis. 3. In Sheard's criterion and Percival's criterion, the prism prescription is occurred when the exophoria of the far-point phoria is over $7{\sim}9{\Delta}$, and the esophoria of that is over $4{\sim}6{\Delta}$.

An anharmonicity is a fundamental quantity shaping the potential for stretching OH vibration in phenol and its derivatives. The phenomenon is examined both by experimental and theoretical methods. FT-IR and NIR spectra of series of phenols derivatives were measured in the range of fundamental and first two Overtones of $_{s}(OH)$ Vibrations in $CCl_4$ solutions. The electronic influence of substituents on the analyzed frequencies is discussed and correlated with $pK_{a}$ parameters. Ab initio MP2/6-31G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-31G(g,p) calculations of the potential for proton movement in OH group were performed. Equilibrium structures were also determined. The frequencies of fundamental and overtones were calculated by Numerov-type procedure. The results of calculations are compared with the experimental data. The best linear correlations were obtained for the results of MP2/6-31G(d,p) calculations. It was shown that some structural parameters are especially sensitive on substitution. The linear correlations were found between those parameters and spectroscopic data. The results of calculation are compared with available crystallographic data.
