  • A new adaptive filter is proposed for an aided strapdown inertial navigation system(SDINS). The proposed filter can be used to effectively estimate the time-varying variance of the measurement noise. Then, the in-flight alignment for the radar aided SDINS is designed using the additive quatermion error model. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive filter effectively improves the performance of the radar aided SDINS.

  • In this paper the sway-control problem of a container crane is investigated. The control loop is divided into two stages. The first stage is a modified time optimal control for trolley traversing. The velocity command for trolley traversing consists of three components ; a reference velocity and two feedback signals for compensating the deviations of trolley and sway angle from their desired trajectories. For trolley's exact positioning the trolley dynamics is identified via an error equation identifier structure. The second stage is a nonlinear residual sway control that starts at the end of first stage. The control design for the second stage is investigated from the perspective of controling an underactuated system, and the control law combines the feedback linearization and variable structure control.

  • The location of outdoor mobile robot is obtained using global coordinates from GPS. However, the error generated by GPS is about 10m ~ 100m, so the precise control is difficult. D-GPS has the error value of 1m and it is very accurate, but the price is very expensive. In this paper, a method to reduce the error in global coordinates is proposed using two low-cost GPS for the autonomous navigation control of outdoor mobile robot.

  • Along with the rapid growth of shipping and transportation , the size of a ship larger and larger. Low speed maneuverabililty of a full ship has been received a great deal of attention concerting about the navigation safety, especially in the harbour area of waterway. And, the iperation of the full ship in harbour area is one fo tehmost difficult technique. Usually highly experienced experts can make a suitable decision considering various propeller ,rudder actions and environmental conditions. The Artificial Neural Network is applied to the automatic berthing control of a ship. The teaching data are made by the berthing simulation of a ship on the computer. And, the layer neural network is used and the 'Error Back-Propagation Algorithm' is used to teach the neural network. Finally, it is shown that the berthing control is successfully done by the established neural network.

  • To obtain the system requirement specification in the beginning of the precision guidance and control system development, the effectiveness and reliability analysis for the system are necessary. The main purpose of this research is to obtain the system requirement specification by carrying out the effectiveness analysis using the modeling and simulation(M&S) scheme. M&S model is constructed using 6-DOF dynamic model, environment model, guidanc -navigation & control model. Assume that the navigation sensor is consist of inertial navigation sensor(INS) and doppler velocity log(DVL), and the speed and direction of current is environment parameter. The effectiveness analysis is carried out using circular error probability(CEP) and variance analyze scheme. Also, the effectiveness analysis is utilized for cost-performance analysis considering the cost of commercial INS and DVL sensor. This paper shows the high-level INS and the low-level DVL configure a high price-performance integrated navigation system.

  • In recent years alternative navigation system such as a DBRN (Data-Base Referenced Navigation) system using geophysical information is getting attention in the military navigation systems in advanced countries. Specifically TRN (Terrain Referenced Navigation) algorithm research is important because TRN system is a practical DBRN application in South Korea at present time. This paper presents an integrated navigation algorithm that combines a linear profile-based TRN and INS (Inertial Navigation System). We propose a correlation analysis method between TRN performance and terrain roughness index. Then we propose a conditional position update scheme that utilizes the position output of the conventional linear profile type TRN depending on the terrain roughness index. Performance of the proposed algorithm is verified through Monte Carlo computer simulations using the actual terrain database. The results show that the TRN/INS integrated algorithm, even when the initial INS error is present, overcomes the shortcomings of linear profile-based TRN and improves navigation performance.

  • The INS provides high rate position, velocity and attitude data with good short-term stability while the GPS provides position and velocity data with long-term stability. By integrating the INS with GPS, a navigation system can be achieved to provide highly accurate navigation performance. For the best performance, time synchronization of GPS and INS data is very important in GPS/INS integrated system. But, it is impossible to synchronize them exactly due to the communication and computation time-delay. In this paper, to reduce the error caused by the measurement time-delay in GPS/INS integrated systems, error compensation methods using separate bias Kalman filter are suggested for both the...

  • This paper explains a performance analysis of an error detection system running on nested session management of cloud computing collaboration environment using rule-based DEVS modeling and simulation techniques. In DEVS, a system has a time base, inputs, states, outputs, and functions. This paper explains the design and implementation of the FDA(Fault Detection Agent). FDA is a system that is suitable for detecting software error for multimedia remote control based on nested session management of cloud computing collaboration environment.

  • The statistics of Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal and Japan Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency shows that the major muses of collision at sea are Improper lookout and Non-compliance with marine traffic rules. Those two muses are occupying more than 70% of collision, and it's clear that those muses are undoubtedly closely related to simple human error. In this paper we tried to find out the root muses of this kind of human error of OOWs(officers on watch) through risk identification method and studied how to tackle them via risk control theory. In conclusion, the measures studied in this paper could be applied to help OOWs avoid their own human error as well as be used in shipping company for their fleets' safety management.

  • In Strapdown Inertial Navigation System, alignment accuracy is the most important factor to determine the performance of navigation. However by an existing self-alignment method, it takes a long time to acquire the alignment accuracy that we want. So, to attain the desired alignment accuracy in as little as $\bigcirc$ minutes, we have developed the precise multi-position alignment method. In this paper, it is proposed a inertial measurement matching transfer alignment method among alignment methods to minimize the alignment error in a short time. It is based on a mixed velocity-DCM matching method be suitable to the operating environment of vertical launching system. The compensation methods to reduce misalign error, especially azimuth angle error incurred by measurement time-delay error and body flexure error are analyzed and evaluated with simulation. This simulation results are finally confirmed by experimentations using FMS(Flight Motion Simulator) in Lab and the integration test to follow the fire control mission.
