An Approach for Security Problems in Visual Surveillance Systems by Combining Multiple Sensors and Obstacle Detection

  • As visual surveillance systems become more and more common in human lives, approaches based on these systems to solve security problems in practice are boosted, especially in railway applications. In this paper, we first propose a robust snag detection algorithm and then present a railway security system by using a combination of multiple sensors and the vision based snag detection algorithm. The system aims safety at several repeatedly occurred situations including slope protection, inspection of the falling-object from bridges, and the detection of snags and foreign objects on the rail. Experiments demonstrate that the snag detection is relatively robust and the system could guarantee the security of the railway through these real-time protections and detections.

  • Recently the railway safety is very important issue in Korea because there are lots of changes like the separation of operation and facility of national rail network, the inauguration of high speed train and Daegu subway fire accident. Railway safety management system is based on risk assessment of rolling stocks, electrical system, signaling, operation & maintenance and human element. With this process, railway risk will be reduced as low as reasonably acceptable level. Through risk assessment on accident data, this study predicted the current risk level of railway electrical system and presented the proper safety ensuring measures.

  • The down town passage segment which follows in the straight line which follows recently in high speed of the railway and rail construction is increasing. Also according to quality of life improvement of the citizens whom follows in national income increase the resident demand only becomes larger day by day about a environmental creation which is comfortable and house environmental etc. Demand of the citizens is not the problem of today yesterday about like this railway mean of transportation and with the fact that continuously will increase in future. This study is to predict and reduce railway noise from the conventional PSC-beam bridges which passes through urban areas under the government strateges of speed and weight increases of railway. The purpose of this study is to recommend a proper noise prediction method for designing pleasant roadside environments. The railway design including existing line reconstructions should minimize curved alignment to increase train speed to 180~200km/hr under the government's long-term planing such as the 4th Comprehensive National Development Plan (2000~2020), National Intermodal Transportation Plan (2000~2019) and National Railroad Network Establishment Plan (2006~2015), Since the PSC-beam bridges are mainly used for bridge structures urban areas, noise measurements were performed and analyzed to recommend the noise prediction methods for each type and speed of train respectively.

준지도 학습과 전이 학습을 이용한 선로 체결 장치 결함 검출 (Detection Fastener Defect using Semi Supervised Learning and Transfer Learning)

  • 오늘날 인공지능 산업이 발전함에 따라 여러 분야에 걸쳐 인공지능을 통한 자동화 및 최적화가 이루어지고 있다. 국내의 철도 분야 또한 지도 학습을 이용한 레일의 결함을 검출하는 연구들을 확인할 수 있다. 그러나 철도에는 레일만이 아닌 다른 구조물들이 존재하며 그중 선로 체결 장치는 레일을 다른 구조물에 결합시켜주는 역할을 하는 장치로 안전사고의 예방을 위해서 주기적인 점검이 필요하다. 본 논문에는 선로 체결 장치의 데이터를 이용하여 준지도 학습(semi-supervised learning)과 전이 학습(transfer learning)을 이용한 분류기를 학습시켜 선로 안전 점검에 사용되는 비용을 줄이는 방안을 제안한다. 사용된 네트워크는 Resnet50이며 imagenet으로 선행 학습된 모델이다. 레이블이 없는 데이터에서 무작위로 데이터를 선정 후 레이블을 부여한 뒤 이를 통해 모델을 학습한다. 학습된 모델의 이용하여 남은 데이터를 예측 후 예측한 데이터 중 클래스 별 확률이 가장 높은 데이터를 정해진 크기만큼 훈련용 데이터에 추가하는 방식을 채택하였다. 추가적으로 초기의 레이블된 데이터의 크기가 끼치는 영향력을 확인해보기 위한 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과 최대 92%의 정확도를 얻을 수 있었으며 이는 지도 학습 대비 5% 내외의 성능 차이를 가진다. 이는 제안한 방안을 통해 추가적인 레이블링 과정 없이 비교적 적은 레이블을 이용하여 분류기의 성능을 기존보다 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

일반철도의 선로이용율과 선로 유지보수시간 추정 (Estimation of Line Utilization Rate and Track Maintenance Time of Conventional Railway)

  • 본 연구에서 일반철도의 선로이용율의 범위인 60%를 검토하여, 이용가능한 시간과 이용 불가능한 시간을 수치화 하였다. 또한 선로이용율을 변화시키는 요소인 선로유지보수시간에 대한 계산과 적정한 추정시간을 분석하였다. 적절한 철도운영계획과 원활한 시설유지보수를 통한 열차의 안전을 보장하여야 한다. 동시에 매일 연속되는 열차Dia의 원상회복력도 운영계획에 반영되어야 한다. 이런 사항들을 고려하여 보유 중인 기계장비와 국가철도망에 대한 자료를 활용하여 유지보수작업시간 산출방법을 개선하고, 열차지연에 대비한 여유시간을 확보하도록 검토하였다. 결론적으로 일반철도의 선로이용율과 선로유지보수시간 구성요소를 함께 수량화하여, 선로이용율은 60% 내외가 타당함을 증명하였다.

철도 안전 설비의 정량적 위험평가 기술 (Technical Review on the QRA of Railway Safety Facilities)

  • The overall goal of a safety based railroad system is either to eliminate hazards in designing or to minimize the possibility of it. In order to indicate system safety or low risk although it may not be possible to achieve zero risk conditions, first, it shall ensure that any disasters would occur due to system operation because the prescribed specifications are properly fulfilled and there are no failures of any kind. Second, the risk of faults or failures leading to a mishap must be eliminated or minimized by using fault-tolerance or fail-safe procedures. This paper will attempt to summarize the personal and social risk criterion at widely scattered points, presently used as a safety approach in all over EU, in order to establish the step by step procedures of the detailed standard for railway facilities. In addition, we present the new safety analysis method using the SIL-based evaluation standard and the Reachability Graph of the Petri Net.

지속가능교통을 위한 사이버 압축도시 개발 방안 연구 (Developing Cyber-Compact City Strategies for Sustainable Transportation)

  • 본 연구에서는 지속가능한 통행패턴을 제고하기 위해 압축도시개발기법에 정보통신요소를 접목한 새로운 개념의 사이버 압축도시(Cyber-Compact City) 개발방안을 제시하였다. 먼저 정보통신기술과 도시개발 전략을 통합하는 사이버 압축도시의 개념을 기존 문헌 등을 통해 도출하고, 이를 교통의 지속가능성 제고 측면에서 정립하였다. 또한 정보통신기술의 활용과 압축도시개발의 통합적 접근을 시도한 해외사례를 살펴보고, 국내에서 추진될 수 있는 전략적 접근방법을세가지 측면에서 제시하였다. 첫번째는 대중교통 네트워크와 정보통신 네트워크의 융합전략으로 국토 및 도시공간구조의 연결체계를 대중교통과 정보통신 네트워크의 중심으로 재편하는 것이며 철도의 여유공간에 정보통신 인프라를 건설하는 것이다. 두번째는 대중교통 결절점과 정보통신 결절점의 융합전략으로 주요 철도역을 중심으로 지역거점 및 도시거점의 정보통신센터를 구축하는 것이다. 마지막으로 대중교통 영향권과 정보통신 영향권을 통합하여 연계체계 및 정보통신기능이 강화된 대중교통지향형 입체복합개발을 제시하였다.

강체 전차선로이행구간 고속화 방안 연구 (A Study on Speed-up of a Transition Section Between Overhead Catenary and Rigid Conductor System)

  • R-Bar(Overhead Rigid Conductor system) is being developed for the high-speed in Europe because it has an advantage of cross section area reduction of tunnel compared with OCS (Overhead Catenary Line). Because there are lots of underground sections and mountains in korea, it is necessary to develop the R-Bar for a high-speed line. In this study, a method on speed-up of transition section between OCS and R-Bar is proposed. The commercial program, DAFUL, is used to predict a dynamic characteristics between Overhead Line and pantograph. The program is evaluated according to EN 50318 which is the European Norm for evaluation of the program. Using the evaluated modeling and method, a method for the max. speed of 250 km/h of transition section is proposed.

  • As existing materials for ground reinforcement, chemical grout material using cementitous materials and waterglass was used. But many problems in terms of ground reinforcement effects were implicated. In this study, for development and applicability verification of new materials, viscosity, fluidity, permeability, Self-Leveling, keeping of drilled hole, antiwashout underwater, resistance of water (groundwater dilution and minimize material eluting) and the early strength and long-term strength characteristics of developed materials was confirmed, and material standards, and establishing construction standards for the various model tests were conducted. As a result, high viscosity, flowability, permeability and keeping of drilled hole characteristics are excellent, in addition to the early strength properties, dilution does nat occur to groundwater, including groundwater is available for dealing with environmental issues. Application of basic and reinforcement method by Filler function in addition to structure can also or development of a new concept can be expected. In addition, middle and large-diameter drilled shaft, micropile, ground anchors, soil-nailing, steel pipes multi-grouting reinforcement for cement injection process could be used enough to even be considered.

Future Northeast Asia Transport and Communications System

  • Korea has been at the forefront of efforts to enhance international cooperation in transport and communications within Northeast Asia. This effort is driven not only by the benefits that could accrue to the Korean Peninsula but also to all nations in the region. Mutual cooperation within Northeast Asia would reduce transport and communications costs and provide the basis for a regional transport and logistics network. Before progress can be made towards an integrated transport and communications system in Northeast Asia, however, there is a need to evaluate its prospects, outline a visionary plan, and detail a preferred strategy. The strategy to develop the Korean Peninsula as the gateway for Northeast Asia should harmonize with the region's common transport (and communications) policy The strategy adopted by South Korea is focused primarily on the development of an improved logistics infrastructure that would be extended to North Korea upon reunification. The seaport and airport developments In Korea will have to be supported by improved access to planned high-speed railways, expressways and freight distribution centers that, in turn, are to be integrated with new telecommunications and computer technologies. The benefits from these improvements will be lost unless existing government monopolies controlling seaport, airport, rail, road and expressway developments are commercialized to ensure that the price of transport reflects its actual cost. Technical harmonization between different modes should be promoted to facilitate efficient intermodal transport between the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia.
