  • As digital content services, especially OTT(over-the-top) video services, diffuse rapidly, so do smartTVs. Based on the indirect network effect theory and the complementarity theory, this study explores the relationship between digital content services and smartTV. Using the Media panel dataset, this study analyzes how the usage of digital content service (OTT usage, OTT usage volume, the usage of various OTT service types, and online game/music/education/news service) affects smartTV usage. This study shows that OTT usage and its usage volume is positively associated with smartTV usage, and that the usage of various OTT service types is positively associated with smartTV usage compared with non-OTT users. As for online content services, the usage of online education service is positively associated with smartTV usage while the usage of online news service is associated negatively. These results support the indirect network effect theory and the complementarity theory.

  • Recently, the use of one-person broadcast content for special makeup videos has gained momentum. This study aims to analyze the factors preferred by various age groups as the total number of clicks increase on special makeup videos. It also aims to provide beauty creators with useful data to help them create videos that generate more clicks based on the derived elements. We analyzed previous studies and divided the subjective indicators into place & accessories, editing, model (Y/N), contents and field, and characteristics of the creators. We analyzed top 5 videos from among 257 videos uploaded before July 1, 2020. The subjective indicators were analyzed through a questionnaire survey attempted by 60 respondents in their 10-30s from Jeollanam-do and Gwangju between July 20 to August 31, 2020. The questions majorly focused on intimacy, attractiveness, professionalism, informativity, and playfulness. We analyzed the collected data using SPSS 21.0, and obtained the following results: Informativity, professionalism, attractiveness, and playfulness were considered to be more influential by those aged 10 to 30 years. In particular, factors like visual elements, linguistic characteristics, experts, background music and sound effects, celebrities, product information, and knowhow were most preferred. In fact, it was easy to make videos using these elements. The above results confirmed the utility of such data for beauty-creators-to-be in creating videos that generate more clicks.

Image, as an essential medium of communication, plays an important role in contemporary society. The one way is the conversion of analogue image like an actual picture, photograph, or film into digital one through the digitalization of digital camera or scanner as 'an analogue/digital commutator'. The other is a way of process with a computer drawing, or modeling of objects. It is appropriate to the production of pictorial and surreal images. Digital images, produced by the other, can be divided into the form of Pixel' and form of Vector'. Vector is a line linking the point of departure to the point of end, which organizes informations. Second, the introduction of digital effect and the development of image processing technology have enhanced a spectacle of destructive and violent scenes. Third, a child intends to recognize the interactive images of computer game and virtual reality as a reality, or truth. To correspond to the changing and developing social, cultural circumstances, and the form and recognition of students' reception of them, visual arts education must arrange the field of studying on a new visual culture. Besides, a program needs to be developed, which is in more systematic and active level in relation to visual media education. Educational contents should be extended to the media for visual images, that is, photography, film, television, video, computer graphic, animation, music video, computer game and multimedia. Every media must be separately approached, because they maintain the modes and peculiarities of their own according to the conveyance form of message. The concrete and systematic method of teaching and the quality of education must be researched and developed, centering around the development of a course of study. Teacher's foundational capability of teaching should be cultivated for the visual media education. In this case, it must be paid attention to the fact that a technological level of media is considered as a secondary. Because school education doesn't intend to train expert and skillful producers, but intends to lay stress on the essential aesthetic one with visual media under the social and cultural context, in respect of a consumer including a man of culture.

  • Introduction of motion capture system to the field of digital entertainment paved the way to accelerate the development of 3D character animation all the more. Motion capture system has been developed of the level that it can capture the fierce motions of character particularly in the digital game image and improve the dynamic characteristics by capturing the movement of human muscle or express the human's true emotion by capturing wrinkles and expression on face. Such an extension of realistic expression enables them to be used increasingly in movie, TV, advertisement, music video, etc centering around the game industry in the field of digital entertainment. The fact is, however, that many difficulties are held in the image production process compared with the competing countries such as USA and Japan, owing to inferiorities in technical expertise and capital in the image production process using the local motion capture, insufficient professional human resources of motion capture and small size of local motion capture image market. Hence, this study intends to suggest the plan to improve the technical problems in terms of integrated motion capture system, motion capture professional human resources and motion capture in-house program development in the production process of digital entertainment image using the motion capture system by surveying local and overseas examples of image production.

  • K-pop performances are in the center of the contemporary popular arts and cultural industry, and implicitly reveal the way that our society views the body and the time-space. This paper explores the motif of automaton in the K-pop idol group ShiNee's stage performance of 'Everybody' and the song's music video. At the same time, the paper relates the motif with the automaton of the digital era-that is, the sense of time-space in digital animations. The motif of the automaton has its origins in the mythical forms related to the animation, and is related to the human desire to create humanlike forms. Also, this motif is closely linked to the aesthetical meaning of the animation, being played in different variations since the beginning of the animation. This paper explores the tradition of automaton motif in culture and the arts, and look into the cases in which the history of the relationship between the media and body performance harboring the automaton motif has been displayed in 19th century ballet or modern body expressional arts. In addition, this paper will compare and analyze representative contemporary works that reveal digital viewpoint and the choreography of 'Everybody', and compare other works that stand in similar aesthetic tradition, investigating the influence of digital animation reflected in the K-pop idol and its aesthetic and social undertones.

  • The existent UCC sites display only finalized contents by publisher. It dose not provide any platform for resources of UCC that public users could reorganize. This paper has developed a platform to be able to produce reusable content using the scenes of the contents and produced a 3D animation with multiple story. It is necessary for user to search the provided contents for easy reorganization of the contents. The scene is classified by the description and information of the scene for handy search. It is obscure for a movie clip to be represent with only one word. Therefore, the proposed platform provides the search technique with a overlapping choice for the specific categories that include most of elements for the scene. Then the user can choose a specific range of the selected movie clip, make a new story with reorganizing the order, and put a caption or BGM on the movie clip. The complete movie clip has the search preferences as a category, new clips, and top favorites. With the Multi-Story line concept, we made a 3D animation about episodes of thermal dolls in the Doll World. This attempt will come to the new marketing way for a field of the visual media like as Music Video, Drama, Feature Film, Commercial Film.

  • This paper proposes the design of user centric pavilion information guide system based on mobile device such as PDA. which is composed of system interface factors as user wants. The suggested information guide system is convenient for user carrying because it is based on PDA mobile device and the used liquid browser system makes all data information displayed on a small screen in contrast with the other browser system. Indeed, factors of system interface can be re-composed by user interaction. And this system can effectively provide the detail information about the exhibited objects as various media data such as text, image, voice, music, video etc. The proposed system is made up of media database server. mobile system control server and mobile system interface which accepts user interaction and displays the information. Each system is networked based on TCP/IP and uses XML (extensible Markup Language) and JAVA 2 micro edition to be able to update data. This feature enhances a wide use to be able to load this system on the any mobile device.
