The purpose of this study is to grasp musical expression in the Monastery of La Tourette, an architectural work produced by an architect, Le Corbusier and a musician, Iannis Xenakis based on a musical piece, Metastasis. The results of the study on musical expression in the Monastery of La Tourette, which was done through analysis of correlation in expression between architecture and music, and spatial characteristics of this monastery, are as follows: First, in modern architecture and music, the expression of the space-time continuum concept is emphasized. Second, the architectural characteristics in this monastery that constitute musical expression are the Modular, confliction and fluidity in composition, plastic (acoustic) shape and symbolic shape. Third, these architectural characteristics are found to be expressed as counterpoint, alteration, temporality, acoustics and canon of music.

This paper describes an approach of composing music with multiple AI composers. This approach enriches more the creativity space of artificial intelligence music composition than using only one composer. This paper presents a simple example with 2 different deep learning composers working together for composing one music. For the experiment, the two composers adopt the same deep learning architecture of an LSTM model trained with different data. The output of a composer is a sequence of notes. Each composer alternatively appends its output to the resulting music which is input to both the composers. Experiments compare different music generated by the proposed multiple composer approach with the traditional one composer approach.

It aims to understand how the time can be expressed in architecture from viewpoints of Oriental and Western philosophy. We just have done sporadic studies such as historical time, physical time, specific time, time as the space-time continuum and appreciation time. It`s impossible to find out that time exactly is since `time` is ambiguous. Because the meaning is formed newly by relational changes between visible and invisible existing thing. In such point of view, this study attempts at analyzing the inter-relationship between the art, music, architecture and time-concept in oriental and western philosophy. A comparative study follows : Time can be classified into the linear concept of time & the cyclic concept of time in an agricultural civilization and oriental philosophy. Linear concept of time can be divided into 1)the inevitable concept of time and 2)the 4-dimensional concept of time and 3) the indefinite concept of time.

다양한 휴대 인터넷 환경의 출현은 기존 모바일 기기의 네트워크 접근을 보다 쉽게 해주고 있다. 또한 무선 환경을 사용하는 모바일 기기 사용자는 혼자 사용하는 특징을 가지고 있으며 유선 환경보다 사용자 프로파일 정보를 쉽게 구할 수 있다. 이러한 모바일 기기의 특징은 개인화 서비스를 적용하기에 최적의 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기 사용자를 위한 개인화된 모바일 음악 콘텐츠 추천 서비스를 제공한다. 이 서비스는 사용자의 액세스 히스토리(access history) 정보를 활용하여 시간에 가중치 부여를 이용한 협업 필터링 방법을 제안한다. 액세스 히스토리 정보는 사용자의 관심정보를 알아낼 수 있다. 이 정보를 이용하여 음악 장르의 선호도를 고려하고 시간에 따라 가중치를 부여하여 음악을 추천해준다. 이 방법은 기존의 음악 추천 시스템의 문제점인 사용자가 선호하는 음악장르가 시간이 지남에 따라 변화한다는 사실을 고려하지 못하는 문제점을 해결한다.

본 연구는 다니엘 리베스킨트 건축작품을 분석함에 있어 어린 시절 습득하였던 일련의 음악 작업과 오페라 아론과 모세에 대한 영향을 고찰하여 리베스킨트 건축과의 상관성을 분석하고자 하였다. 그 분석의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 리베스킨트는 악보 위에서 자유롭게 흘러다니는 음계들의 구성을 그의 건축에 차용하여 보이지 않는 선들의 집합을 만들어냈다. 둘째, 음악구조에서의 2중 선율, 즉 다성음악적 비례 형태를 바탕으로 리베스킨트는 대위법(countepoint)적 중첩의 기하학적 형태를 구성하였다. 또한, 건축과 음악과의 상호 텍스트적 결합의 결과로서 재료, 형태 등의 대비를 계획하여 하이브리드(hybrid) 즉, 다차원적인 공간구성을 계획하여 기하학적이면서도 자유로운 선적 리듬을 표현하였다. 셋째, 리베스킨트는 과거의 아픔, 공포, 불안감 등을 공간적으로 나타내고자 노력하였으며 아놀드 쉰베르크의 작품에서의 영감을 통해 그의 작업에서 부재의 공간을 구축하였다.

As for the generally preferred sound sources used in the test, the sound of water and the birds chirping were highly valued. And they have found that preference of the subject is increased if background music which mixed well with the sound sources were provided together. On the other hand, the sound sources of low satisfaction were judged at be church bells, bell of Emile, and fulling cloth, which not mix well with interior landscaping. If the physical elements of interior landscaping were equally composed, it has found that the larger were a of water space is, the higher satisfaction more than other sound sources. Average satisfaction of background sound in interior landscaping classified according to the characteristics of space has found that satisfaction of the birds chirping and music in working space and satisfaction of water sound and music in commercial space were high. Women judged that satisfaction of the birds chirping and music in working space and satisfaction of water sound and music in commercial space whose values were the same with the average ones were high, while men judged that satisfaction of the song of birds and music in working and commercial space is high.

Music brings pleasure and relaxation to people. Therefore, it is necessary to classify musical genres based on scenes. Identifying favorite musical genres from massive music data is a time-consuming and laborious task. Recent studies have suggested that machine learning algorithms are effective in distinguishing between various musical genres. However, meeting the actual requirements in terms of accuracy or timeliness is challenging. In this study, a hybrid machine learning model that combines a deep residual auto-encoder (DRAE) and support vector machine (SVM) for musical genre recognition was proposed. Eight manually extracted features from the Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) were employed in the preprocessing stage as the hybrid music data source. During the training stage, DRAE was employed to extract feature maps, which were then used as input for the SVM classifier. The experimental results indicated that this method achieved a 91.54% F1-score and 91.58% top-1 accuracy, outperforming existing approaches. This novel approach leverages deep architecture and conventional machine learning algorithms and provides a new horizon for musical genre classification tasks.

1850년 프랑스에서 시작된 음악 저작권은 건축이나 미술 등의 분야처럼 시각적으로 고정이 되어있는 저작물에 대한 권리와는 다르게 곡 시간의 흐름에 의한 저작물이다. 음악 저작물의 보호되어지는 범위는 다른 분야의 저작물과 같이 전체 음악이기 보다 음악저작물 안의 각각의 요소와 구조를 분석하여 법적으로 권리를 주장할 수 있는 창작적 표현이라 판단되는 부분을 보호의 범위로 보는 것이 타당할 것이다. 우리나라 대중가요에서 표절에 관한 이슈 중 창작성 판단은 원고의 저작물에 대한 보호에 해당 되는지 여부를 가리는 측면에서 매우 중요한 부분을 차지하는 것으로 보인다. 저작물로 인정되는 곡안의 아이디어나 창작요소의 판단은 중요한 논점이다. 창작성을 판단하기에 앞서 해당 표현이 창작의 표현에 해당하는 음악적 요소에 대한 문제는 법원의 판단이 아닌 산업과 학계에서 검토되어 공감대를 형성해야 할 문제라 판단된다. 또한 오늘날 대중가요는 저작권을 보호받는 저작물 중 창작적 표현의 논의가 없었던 것으로 보인다. 본 논문을 통해서 대중가요의 창작적 요소와 비창작적 요소를 구분하고, 창작적 표현 요소에 대한 음악 창작자들의 공감대를 마련하는 시론이 되고자 한다.

This design proposal was accepted to a design competition for the improvement of Indi Youth Street, Mapo-Gu, which was held by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in June, 2000. The \`Hong-ik University District\` projected area consists of several streets, where the independent and youth culture unique to this area is blossoming-Indi music, underground arts, and historic meaning of the area as an estuary of Mapo. The site is also expected to attract many citizens and fereigners because of convenient accessibility of the new subway station to the Inchon International Airport and because of many attractions on the street- foods, music, art and people. Accordingly, the proposal set the main design concept of this project as \`the Street of Youth Culture\` considering its special and social status as well as the physical improvement of the street environment. With this concept in mind, the proposal designed the improvement of the physical conditions based on the motive of \`the Street of Youth Culture\`, having Indi/under art, Indi/ under music, Indi/under drama and Indi/multimedia animation. This design proposal of the Street of Youth Culture consist of three segments, which symbolize the millenium Youth Plaza, MultiMedia Animation Pocket and Arts Exhibition Pocket based on unity and balance. This plan has the ultimate aim of making the district one of the people\`s favorite streets in Seoul, which people love to visit again and find the vivacity of the new millennium youth culture.

This study dealt with approaches in architecture and music in the contemporary situation characterized by accidence and uncertainty through Pierre Boulez and Rem Koolhaas' works. First of all, we examined basic positions with starting from zero degree breaking from fixed ideas and with relative neutrality. Then, from a methodological aspect, we inquired into 1) anti-hierarchical objective approach, 2) accidental approach to form. 3) diagram of structure and event, and 4) the use of selective routes. Lastly, from a receptive aspect, we dealt with the space of pluralistic perspective and works in progress. The two persons used chaosmos approach that enables adjustment and control through structure defining the relationship with accidence or chaos. With the approach, they created works in progress or open works that have a pluralistic viewpoint working in the field of specific relation and the concept of endless regeneration.
