여성 비만의 유발유형별 일반 증상과 검사 특성 연구 (Characterizing of Four Obesity Types in Obese Women Based on the Questionnaire of Diseases and Physical Tests)

  • Objectives : To characterize four types of obesity and to effectively improve the treatment of obesity through Oriental medicine Methods : At 00 Oriental Medical Center, 203 female subjects who intented to lose weight were requested to complete a questionnaire. These participants were also given physical tests. The Questionnaire consisted of questions both about general life style and obesity in oriental medicine framework. The physical tests were blood tests, a body composition via Inbody 2.0, and physical strength tests. One-way analysis of variance was done to compare the means of items and physical tests between four types of obesity. Duncan was used by post hoc test. Results : 1. Significant differences between obesity type III and obesity type IV in ever tried to lose weight, childhood obesity and excercise times were observed in the questionnaire of general life style(p<0.05). 2. Ducan test showed significant differences between four obesity types in diseases (p<0.05). 3. Significant differences between four obesity types in height, % body fat muscular endurance, soft lean mass, fat mass, Trigliceride, Total cholesterol and ${\gamma}-GTP$ were observed (p<0.05). Conclusions : Further clinical research is necessary in the four types of obesity explored. The diagnosis and treatment based on these types should be further studied.

Effects of trunk Muscles Endurance, Hip Joint Muscular Strength, and Pelvic Alignment on Mild Low Back Pain

  • Objective: Low back pain easily becomes chronic and has a high recurrence rate. Therefore, it is most important to prevent chronicity and reduce the risk of recurrence in the early stages of back pain or at the stage with mild pain. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare hip joint muscle strength, trunk muscle endurance, and pelvic alignment between subjects with mild low back pain and subjects without back pain. Design: Crossed-sectional study Methods: The study was conducted by recruiting 30 students in their twenties who are enrolled in K University in Gyeongsangnam-do, and classifying them into 15 patients with mild back pain and 15 patients with normal. The subjects who participated in the experiment were measured for hip flexor and extensor muscle strength, trunk flexion and extension muscle endurance, and pelvic alignment. To measure hip joint muscle strength, biodex was used, and muscle endurance of the trunk was recorded at the end range of the trunk flexion and extension. And pelvic alignment was measured using Formetric 4D. Results: There were no significant differences in hip joint muscle strength, pelvic alignment, and trunk extension muscle endurance. The retention time was found to be significantly shorter in the mild low back pain group than in the normal group for trunk flexion muscle endurance. Conclusions: In the early stages of back pain or in the mild pain stage, training to increase muscle endurance of the flexor muscles may be helpful.

세대특성별 건강체력 변화 추이를 통한 웰니스적 관리 방안 탐색 (Investigation of Wellness Management Plan Based on the Health Fitness Trend Characteristics per Generation)

  • 본 연구는 전국의 학생을 대상으로 수집된 건강체력 측정 결과를 바탕으로 하나의 세대특성별 종단적 학년자료로 재구성하여 학생 건강체력 변화 추이와 특성을 심층적으로 분석하였으며, 학생 건강체력 검사제도 운영에 따른 웰니스적 관리 방안을 탐색하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이에 연구 목적과 방법에 의해 수집된 자료와 결과를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 근지구력 변화추이는 남학생과 여학생 모두 한 세대에 있어 초등학생 시기의 발달 추세는 과거와 유사하게 나타나고는 있으나 중학교시기를 거치면서 성장에 따른 근지구력 발달 수준은 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 심폐지구력 변화추이는 남학생과 여학생 모두 다른 체력요인의 변화와 달리 과거 세대와 현재 세대의 심폐지구력 발달 수준의 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 셋째, 순발력의 변화추이에서 남학생은 과거 세대와 비교하여 볼 때, 성장에 따른 순발력 발달 수준이 저하된 것으로 나타났다. 반면 여학생의 경우 세대 내에서 중학교 2학년 시기가 지나면서부터 발달되지 않고 거의 정체되어 있는 것으로 나타났다.

좌측상지에 발생한 선천성편비대 1례보고(증례보고) (Congenital Hemihypertrophy of Upper Extremity (A Case Report))

  • This report describes a rare, congenital hypertrophy of the left upper extremity that appeared after compressive bandage of right arm at the age of two. He is eighteen years old, and hypertrophy was aggravated for about 2 years since he started weight training exercise. Recently, skin turgor changed and he visited the Dermatology department. Skin biopsy revealed increased thickness of the dermis. On Orthopaedic examination, the left arm showed non­specific neuro-muscular changes other than easy fatigability a.nd increased skin consistency after exercise, compared to the right arm. The differences of circumference were 2.5 to 4cm according to the level of the upper limb. But the relative proportion of hypertrophy of the limb was balanced., On X-ray examination, bony changes were not shown. Through the MRI, we could find edematous changes of subcutaneous fatty tissue. Muscular structures showed unremarkable changes. Through the endurance test of both arms, we could find a decrease in endurance of the left upper arm musculatures. On histologic examination, infrequent focal necrosis and peri fascicular degeneration of the muscle fiber were present.

다이나믹 테이핑과 키네시오 테이핑 적용에 따른 발바닥 굽힘근의 지구력과 피로도에 미치는 효과 비교 (Comparison of the effects of dynamic taping and kinesio taping on endurance and fatigue of plantar flexor)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of plantar flexor on muscle fatigue and endurance when two different sport tapes are applied. Design: Cross-sectional design. Methods: Fifty-one healthy adults were randomly assigned to dynamic taping group (n=17), kinesio taping group (n=17), and control group (n=17). The dynamic taping group used the dynamic tape. The kinesio tape group used the kinesio tape, and the control group doesn't used tape. Every group performed heel rise test and sEMG for every during pre-test and post-test. To evaluate plantar flexor endurance, the number of times was measured during the heel rise test. Results: The number of heel rises increased significantly in the post-test in dynamic taping group compared to the pre-test, and In comparison between groups, the number of heel rises significantly increased in dynamic taping group compared to kinesio taping group and control group. PEF value was significantly increased in the post-test compared to the pre-test in dynamic taping group, and there was a significant difference between the three groups according to the taping application. Conclusion: The results of this study confirmed that dynamic taping was effective in musclular fatigue and endurance on plantar flexor in healthy adults. Based on these results, it is suggested that the application of dynamic tape can be suggested as one of the intervention methods for muscle endurance and muscle fatigue.

단기간의 스트레칭형근력체조가 자동차 생산 작업자의 건강관련체력과 통증자각도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Short-term Stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics on Health-related Fitness and Rating of Perceived Pain for for Automotive Industry Worker)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of short-tenn stretching type of muscular strength gymnastics on health-related fitness and rating of perceived pain for automotive industry workers. The subjects selected were 27, who were divided into 3 groups(A group=10, B group=9, C group=8). Group A performed a short-term stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics only one time. Group B continuously performed the exercise program two times. Group C was a control group. The exercise program was a stretching Type of Muscular Strength Gymnastics, which was performed 3 times per week for 4 weeks. Its intensity was RPE 11-15. Data analysis was conducted by using SPSS ver 14.0. The test was conducted with two-way repeated ANOVA, post-hoc Ducan and paired t-test (a<.05). This study showed the following results. Muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility increased in all intra and between groups. Ratio of %fat decreased for group B but the control group presented conversely. Rating of perceived pain of group A decreased at arm and hands. Rating of perceived pain of group A decreased at back and leg.

로잉운동의 부하편차 방식 적용에 따른 상하지 생체 역학적 평가 (Evaluation of Bio-Mechanical Character istics According to Loading Deviation Methods dur ing Rowing Exercise)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the validation of exercise effect with loading deviation during rowing exercise. We performed evaluation of based physical fitness and joint torque before the experiment for finding muscle unbalance. So we recruited twenty four subjects who have bigger muscle strength in more 20% than average one. Subjects divided two groups. One is dominant upper limbs(DU) and the other was dominant lower limbs(DL). Subjects performed rowing exercise using electric equipment (Robo.gym.Humonic.korea). Exercise is performed four sets a day including 25 times a set, and three days a week. Measurement consist of evaluation of based physical fitness and joint torque using biodex(biodex system3.USA). Evaluation of exercise effect performed each week in joint torque of shoulder, lumbar and knee joint and each month in based physical fitness. Also we adapted 30% of 1RM for muscular endurance and 70% of 1RM for muscle strength as exercise load. The results showed that the difference of maximal peak torque were getting increase significantly during exercise. Also difference of various factor in based physical fitness were getting increase significantly except flexibility and agility. This interpreted that rowing exercise with loading deviation types could provide muscle strength and muscular endurance exercise in same time. These results could be interpret to two ways. One is effect of improving physical fitness for rowing exercise and the other meaned validation of loading deviation in rowing exercise. Our study is going to verify the validation of loading deviation during rowing and we found out that loading deviation could provide muscle strength and muscular endurance exercise for improving muscle unbalance. Our study can be used development of exercise equipment and program for normal people with muscle unbalance. Also that provide effect of whole body exercise to anybody.

  • Attainment of the goals of functional electrical stimulation(FES) applications such as strengthening of muscle, increasing muscular endurance, improvement in joint range of motion or the reduction of spasticity does not insure that patients will be able to produce voluntary muscle contraction sufficient to maintain posture or produce purposeful movements. In many patients who have sustained CNS damage, the control exerted by higher nervous system center over muscle contraction may impaired. The effect of fibroblast growth factor receptor inhibition on resistance exercise training-induced adaptation of bone and muscle quality in mice

  • Aging in mammals, including humans, is accompanied by loss of bone and muscular function and mass, characterized by osteoporosis and sarcopenia. Although resistance exercise training (RET) is considered an effective intervention, its effect is blunted in some elderly individuals. Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and its receptor, FGFR, can modulate bone and muscle quality during aging and physical performance. To elucidate this possibility, the FGFR inhibitor NVP-BGJ398 was administrated to C57BL/6n mice for 8 weeks with or without RET. Treatment with NVPBGJ398 decreased grip strength, muscular endurance, running capacity and bone quality in the mice. FGFR inhibition elevated bone resorption and relevant gene expression, indicating altered bone formation and resorption. RET attenuated tibial bone resorption, accompanied by changes in the expression of relevant genes. However, RET did not overcome the detrimental effect of NVP-BGJ398 on muscular function. Taken together, these findings provide evidence that FGFR signaling may have a potential role in the maintenance of physical performance and quality of bone and muscles.

등속성 운동시 각속도에 따른 총 일량(total work)의 변화 (Total Work Changes at Different Angular Velocities during Isokinetic Exercise)

  • In general, research in isokinetic exercise has focussed on studies of peak torque. However, peak torque is not always sufficient to assess the real amount of motion or to determine endurance. In this study, the subjects were 54 healthy students who performed continuous maximal isokinetic knee flexion and extension until their total work per time reached 50% of their maximal total work. Isokinetic curves were then plotted. Total work sums, exercise durations in seconds, and the numbers of repetitions were compared with reference to subject gender, angular velocity and muscle group. The relationship between total work sum, duration and number of repetition and thigh circumference plus leg length was computed. In addition, the characteristics of total work per second and total work per time were calculated. Results showed the total work sums differed greatly from muscle group to muscle group and with different angular velocities. The duration in seconds and the numbers of repetition differed only at higher angular velocity. Males achieved higher levels in every category except for some duration in seconds and some numbers of repetitions. Thigh circumference and leg length were deciding fators in every case, but duration in seconds and number of repetitions were not. These results suggest that measures of endurance should be included along with measures of total work when isokinetic studies are done. Measures of endurance in seconds are more accurate when isokinetic exercise is performed at lower angular velocities and numbers of repetitions at higher angular velocities.
