  • Presence server should process massive SIP subscription request messages and massive presence event notifications from presence resources in real time. Therefore multiple servers architecture is needed for presence service system. In this paper, an architecture of multiple servers presence service system using SIP based CCMP control messages for lowering presence server load level has been presented. In this system, each presence server exchanges current load status using CCMP control messages, and total system load according to variance of users number and amount of presence resources has been effectively distributed processed. The CCMP control messages has been optimally designed to control presence servers, and exchange procedures of these control messages between presence servers has been also presented and the performance of the proposed multiple servers presence service system has been analysed by experiments. The result shows that average presence subscription processing time reduced from 40.8% to 69.2% and average presence notification processing time reduced from 29.4% to 62.7%.

  • Presence information provides various informations about users such as on-line status, current location, network connection method and connection address, and there are two kinds of presence information, SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) based presence information and XMPP(Extensible Massaging and Presence Protocol) based presence information. In this paper, a multiple server architecture that can handle these two kinds of presence information has been proposed. In this architecture, severs are added dynamically according to number of users to provide system scalability, and load of each server can be effectively controlled. In this system, a new XMPP stanza architecture and presence information data format are designed for load control. Furthermore message exchanging procedures between servers and users for dynamic server control has been also suggested. The performance of the proposed system has been analysed by simulation.

  • In SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) environment, the presence server should process SIP SUBSCRIBE request messages including multiple presence resources addresses from users, and also precess massive notification messages from the subscribed presence resources. The load of the presence server increases as number of users increase, and it limits system extendability. Therefore a new multiple presence servers architecture has been suggested in this research. In this architecture presence servers can be added dynamically and each server's load can be controlled effectively as number of users increase. Each presence server can monitor current load status of entire presence system by using presence event notification package which newly has been suggested in this paper. When a particular presence server's load increases over predefined limit, the presence service processing is distributed by selecting a server which has the smallest load, or by generating a new server dynamically. In this system the overall load of the entire system can be controlled optimally and extendability of the system can be increased. For this purpose a new presence event notification package and presence information data format have been suggested. The performance of the proposed system has been evaluated by experiments. They shows 44.3% increase in SUBSCRIBE message processing time, and 43.1% increase in Notification message processing time.

  • Purpose Customer review is a major factor in choosing certain restaurants. This study investigates the key factors affecting customer's evaluation about restaurants. With the recent intensification of competition among restaurants in the service industry, the analysis results are expected to provide in-depth insights for enhancing customer experiences. Design/methodology/approach We collected information and reviews provided at the restaurants in the Kakao Map platform. The information collected is based on the information of 3,785 restaurants in Daegu registered on Kakao Map. Based on the information collected, seven independent variables, including number of rating registered, number of reviews, presence or absence of safe restaurants, presence or absence of a posting about holding facilities, presence or absence of a posting about business hours, presence or absence of a posting about hashtags, and presence or absence of break times, were used. Dependent variable is restaurant rating. Multiple regression between independent variables and restaurant rating was carried out. Findings The results of the study confirmed that number of rating registered, presence or absence of a posting about business hours, and presence or absence of a posting about hash tags have an positive effects on the restaurant rating. The number of reviews had a negative effect on the restaurant rating. In addition, in order to confirm the role of customer's reviews, we carried out LDA topic modeling. We divided the topics into the positive review and the negative reviews.

  • A general method for the evaluation of the symbol error probability (SER) of ultra wideband (UWB) systems with various kind of modulation schemes (N-PAM, M-PPM, Bi-Orthogonal), in presence of multipath channel, multiuser and strong narrowband interference, is presented. This method is shown to be able to include all the principal multiaccess techniques proposed so far for UWB, time hopping (TH), direct sequence (DS) and optical orthogonal codes (OOC). A comparison between the performance of these multiple access and modulation techniques is given, for both ideal Rake receiver and minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer. It is shown that for all the analyzed multiple access schemes, a Rake receiver exhibits a high error floor in presence of narrowband interference (NBI) and that the value of the error floor is in-fluenced by the spectral characteristics of the spreading code. As expected, an MMSE receiver offers better performance, representing a promising candidate for UWB systems. When the multiuser interference is dominant, all multiple access techniques exhibit similar performance under high-load conditions. If the number of users is significantly lower than the spreading factor, then DS outperforms both TH and OOC. Finally 2PPM is shown to offer better performance than the other modulation schemes in presence of multiuser interference; increasing the spreading factor is proposed as a more effective strategy for SER reduction than the use of time diversity.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy finite element model for the analysis of structures in the presence of multiple uncertainties. A new methodology to evaluate the cumulative effect of multiple uncertainties on structural response is developed in the present work. This is done by modifying Muhanna's approach for handling single uncertainty. Uncertainty in load and material properties is defined by triangular membership functions with equal spread about the crisp value. Structural response is obtained in terms of fuzzy interval displacements and rotations. The results are further post-processed to obtain interval values of bending moment, shear force and axial forces. Membership functions are constructed to depict the uncertainty in structural response. Sensitivity analysis is performed to evaluate the relative sensitivity of displacements and forces to uncertainty in structural parameters. The present work demonstrates the effectiveness of fuzzy finite element model in establishing sharp bounds to the uncertain structural response in the presence of multiple uncertainties.

  • In this article we extend the discrete Weibull regression model in the presence of missing data. Discrete Weibull regression models can be adapted to various type of dispersion data however, it is not widely used. Recently Yoo (Journal of the Korean Data and Information Science Society, 30, 11-22, 2019) adapted the discrete Weibull regression model using single imputation. We extend their studies by using multiple imputation also with several various settings and compare the results. The purpose of this study is to address the merit of using multiple imputation in the presence of missing data in discrete count data. We analyzed the seventh Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VII), from 2016 to assess the factors influencing the variable, 1 month hospital stay, and we compared the results using discrete Weibull regression model with those of Poisson, negative Binomial and zero-inflated Poisson regression models, which are widely used in count data analyses. The results showed that the discrete Weibull regression model using multiple imputation provided the best fit. We also performed simulation studies to show the accuracy of the discrete Weibull regression using multiple imputation given both under- and over-dispersed distribution, as well as varying missing rates and sample size. Sensitivity analysis showed the influence of mis-specification and the robustness of the discrete Weibull model. Using imputation with discrete Weibull regression to analyze discrete data will increase explanatory power and is widely applicable to various types of dispersion data with a unified model.

  • In this study we conducted a research regarding the effect on learning immersion and perception of the learning environment by learning presence of students in the Department of aeronautical science and flight operation in the context of non-face-to-face lectures caused by COVID-19. The relationship between learning presence (cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence) and learning commitment showed a high correlation. The learning immersion was also found to increase when cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence increased in multiple regression analysis to find out the effects of cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence, which are sub-factors of learning presence. The advantage of non-face-to-face classes was to be the ease of learning, and the disadvantage of non-face-to-face classes was the most difficulty of the learning process in the content analysis of the non-face-to-face class environment.

  • In this paper, new vehicular load model is developed for reliability-based bridge design code. Rational load model and statistical properties of loads are important for developing reliability-based design code. In the previous paper, truck weight data collected at eight locations using WIM or BWIM system are analyzed to calculate the maximum truck weights for specified bridge lifetime. Probability distributions of upper 20% total truck weight are assumed as Extreme Type I (Gumbel Distribution) and 100 years maximum weights are estimated by linear regression. In this study, effects of multiple presence of trucks are analyzed. Probability of multiple presence of trucks are estimated and corresponding multiple truck weights are calculated using the same probability distribution function as in the previous paper. New vehicular live load model are proposed for span length from 10 m to 200 m. New model is compared with current Korean model and various load models of other countries.
