  • Purpose: This research investigates ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee. Although the RTD coffee market is growing competitively, few studies have examined behavioral re-intention or repurchase intention in the context of this industry. Therefore, the objective of this study was to explore factors affecting the behavioral re-intention to purchase RTD coffee. Research design, data and methodology: Using the theory of planned behavior (TPB) as the underpinning theoretical framework, this study hypothesized that behavioral re-intention to purchase RTD coffee is influenced by the variables of the TPB and additional variables. A mixed-method research design was applied, starting with qualitative in-depth interviews and followed by a quantitative method. Data were collected using an online survey of coffee lovers. Multiple linear regression (MLR) was used to assess the hypothesized relationships in the proposed conceptual framework. Results: The results reveal that content sensory attribute beliefs are the strongest positive predictor of behavioral re-intention in Thailand, followed by perceived utilitarian value. In contrast, price signaling was negatively related to behavioral re-intention. Conclusions: The findings can help food and beverage companies to develop new coffee product lines to gain more market share, create integrated marketing communications to build brand awareness, and manage distribution channels and the supply chain.

  • In this paper, CDD(Cyclic Delay Diversity)-DSF(decode-and-selectively forward) relay schemes are proposed for MC-CDMA(multicarrier-code division multiple access) systems over multipath Rayleigh fading channels. On the contrary to general DSF schemes, each relay equipped a CDD method can transmit on single channel. Therefore, all link channels between destination and relays can be considered as a single channel which is widely delay spread. The cooperative diversity of relay networks can be obtained as the frequency diversity for MC-CDMA systems with proposed CDD schemes. Furthermore, a semi-analytical approach for the averaged bit error rare(BER) performance evaluation is proposed for the proposed CDD-DSF-Relay schemes. By simulation and numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed one can be a possible solution to achieve cooperative diversity gain without a reduction of spectral efficiency.

  • This paper studies the performance of STTC with minimum Hamming distance (MHD) mapping in order to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance. Unfortunately, the MHD mapping used in trellis coded modulation (TCM) or multiple trellis coded modulation (MTCM) cannot be directly applied to STTC because the trellis structure of STTC is generally different from that of TCM or MTCM. Therefore, we need a simple modification to apply the MHD mapping concept in STTC. The core of the modification assigns information bits with a Hamming distance in proportion to the sum of the Euclidean distance to trellis branch of STTC. To the best knowledge, this combination has not been considered yet. The BER performance is examined with simulations and the performance of MHD mapping is compared to that of well known natural mapping and Gray mapping on both fast Rayleigh as well as fast Rician fading channels. It is shown that the performance of MHD mapping is much better than that of natural mapping or Gray mapping over fast Rician fading channels, especially.

  • This study analyzed the impacts of programming characteristics perceived by the consumers of entertainment programs on general programming channels on watching intention and the data of a survey with 360 adult viewers in the capital area. Research questions were verified as follows: First, as a result of multiple regression to analyze the impacts of the factors of programming characteristics perceived by the consumers on their watching intention, setting personal characteristics as a control variable, programming characteristics as an independent variable and watching intention as a dependent variable, the regression model was significant. Thus, the more positive the perceived factors of programming characteristics, the more significant their watching intention improved. Second, the factors of programming characteristics significantly affecting watching intention had greater positive(+) impacts in the following order: Adjacency > substantiality > weight of genre > social evidence > relative advantage > ease of access.

  • It is important to design and evaluate the chip waveform with the minimum MAI under the bandwidth constraint in the interference-limited DS-CDMA system. In this paper, by approximation we present the analytical chip waveforms that are proposed and optimized in the reference. Their performances are compared with performances of three conventional chip waveforms: rectangular, half-sine and raised-cosine. Waveform 1 of the proposed chip waveform outperforms the conventional ones. BER and throughput performance are evaluated in the Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels when DPSK modulation is used. When the required BER is 10$\^$-3/ in two fading channels, the capacity of the waveform 1 is improved about 20 % rather than raised-cosine one. When the offered traffic is 30 and the number of packet per bit(N$\sub$d/) is 14, maximum throughput of the waveform 1 is better than raised-cosine chip waveform about 18 % in two fading channels.

  • Paeonol is a major component found in the Paeoniaceae family such as Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews. Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews has traditionally been used to enhance blood flow and relieve joint pain in east Asian countries including China, Korea and Japan. Current research has shown that paeonol blocked the voltage-gated sodium channel and L-type calcium channel. However, there is a lack of research to reveal the relation between cardiac function and blockade of ion channels by paeonol. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate whether paeonol has anti-arrhythmic effects via modulating cardiac ion channels. It is collected that the effects of paeonol on multiple ion channels such as the fast sodium channel and L-type calcium channel from published papers. To incorporate the information on multi-channel block, we computed the effects using the mathematical cardiac model of the guinea-pig and rat ventricular cells (Noble 1998 and 1991 model) and induced early after-depolarizations (EADs) to generate an arrhythmia in the whole heart. Paeonol slightly shortened the action potential duration in the normal cardiac ventricular action potential by the inhibition of sodium channel and L-type calcium channel. Paeonol presented the protective effect from EADs by the inactivation of sodium channel but not L-type calcium channel. Paeonol did not show any changes when it treated on normal ventricular cells through the inhibition of sodium channel, but the protective effect of paeonol through sodium channel on EADs was dose-dependent. These findings suggest that paeonol and its original plant may possess anti-arrhythmic activity, which implies their cardioprotective effects.

  • The rapid growth of digital consumption has significantly changed the shopping behavior of consumers. The consumption paradigm is changing; subsequently, an omni-channel has been introduced that empowers consumers to interact with firms through a myriad of touch points in multiple channels. This study is to understand the perceptions and behavioral characteristics of consumers in the purchase process (e.g., information search and purchase phase). A qualitative method was adopted for this study and data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 omni-channel consumers. The results of this study were as follows. At the information search stage, consistency was the most important consideration for consumers who also wanted to retain channel-specific benefits. Consumers also searched for differentiated information among distribution channels. At the purchase stage, participants choose a shopping channel according to shopping values. They utilized newly introduced services (e.g., "online purchase, offline pick-up", FinTech) that combine retail channels. Our findings provide significance in managing omni-channel services. First, it is recommended that fashion retailers provide seamlessly integrated experience to consumer and adopt a consumer-centered channel choice strategy. Second, fashion retailers must maintain a constant attitude toward shopping experience to fashion, such as shopping enjoyment and exclusiveness.

  • This study examines the hydraulic characteristics, the channel changes, the behavior of bars, and bank stability by means of laboratory experiments. Three sets of laboratory experiments are conducted to elucidate the influence of riparian vegetation of the channels with erodible banks. Flow velocity is decreased in the vegetated zone, the mobility of lower channels is decreased. The double Fourier analysis of the bed waves shows that 1-1 mode (alternate bar) is dominant at the initial stage of the channel development. As time increases, 2-2 and 2-3 modes (central or multiple bars) are dominant due to the increased width to depth ratio. As the vegetation density is increased, the number of bars are increased, bank stability increases. The variation of sediment discharges is affected by vegetation density. The braided intensity is decreased with vegetation density. As the vegetation density is increased, the correlation coefficient of bed topography and bed relief index is increased.
