The purpose of this study was to examine how various dimensions of social exclusion experienced by married immigrant women are affected longitudinally. Autoregressive cross-lagged analysis between sub-dimensions of social exclusion of married immigrant women was conducted to investigate the direction of interrelationships. The data were collected each year through a three-wave longitudinal survey from 2011 to 2013. The results showed that statically significant autoregressive effects appeared among economic exclusion, community exclusion, educational exclusion, and ethnic exclusion. The cross-lagged effects of the sub-dimensions of social exclusion showed that married immigrant women with higher levels of the economic exclusion tend to experience higher levels of the educational exclusion, and ethnic exclusion at the later measurement point, even when controlling for their previous level of social exclusion. It was found that economic exclusion as a more fundamental precedent factor positively predicted other dimensions of social exclusion. The results suggested that financial support and job-related services should be strengthened for active social inclusion of married immigrant women, and early intervention to prevent chronicization of social exclusion should be needed.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the characteristics of caregivers and adults with intellectual disability, and social support, family function, and rehabilitation needs in caregivers. Methods : A total 98 pairs of adults with intellectual disability and their caregivers participated in this study. The researchers examined the general characteristics of the adults with intellectual disability and their caregivers. The evaluation included analysis of the level of activities of daily living, ability to communicate, and health status of the adults with intellectual disability, while the family income, health status, utility and the need for rehabilitation, social support (multidimensional scaled perceived social support, MSPSS) and family function (adaptation, partnership, growth, affection, resolve, and APGAR index) of the caregivers were measured. The data collected were analyzed to determine the relationship of the characteristics of adults with intellectual disability and the social support, family function, and rehabilitation needs of caregivers using regression and correlation analysis. Results : The rehabilitation needs were significantly correlated with the age of the adults with intellectual disability (p<.01), and the subjective health status of the caregivers (p<.05). The education level of the caregivers affected social support significantly ($R^2=.058$, p=.021). The communication ability of the adults with intellectual disability affected family function ($R^2=.071$, p=.01). The social support of caregivers had a significant effect on family function ($R^2=.488$, p<.001). Conclusion : These findings suggest that the barriers to community rehabilitation should be lowered, and the authors discussed the results of the present investigation.
This research aims to examine whether depression has mediating effects in the effects of socioeconomic deprivation, especially of lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation on life satisfaction of the elderly. For this purpose, the 12th year(2017) data of the Korea Welfare Panel Study were used. The mediated effect analysis method of Baron and Kenny(1986) were used, and mediating effect of depression was validated through Sobel Test. The results of this research are as follows. Firstly, the lower variables of socioeconomic deprivation of the elderly -deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment, and deprivation of healthcare- had partial mediating effects of depression in life satisfaction. It was verified that as the elderly experienced deprivation of housing, deprivation of dietary life, social deprivation, deprivation of employment and deprivation of healthcare, depression increased and life satisfaction was lowered. Therefore, it was suggested that to enhance the living satisfactions of the elderly, policies and services reflecting the personal characteristics of socioeconomic deprivation and depression must be made, and that criteria to identify the multidimensional poverty and deprivation experienced in everyday life must be prepared in addition to poverty focusing on income.
Along with the well-established evidence on the negative effect of social isolation on physical and mental health, increasing attention has been paid to multi-dimensional nature of social isolation. One line of study on social isolation has discussed different pathways between objective and subjective social isolation and health. Another stream of the research focused on the possibly non-linear association between social isolation and health by age cohort groups. Drawing from the two lines of research, this study aimed at empirically examine to what extent objective and subjective social isolation are associated with physical and mental health independently and how the associations vary by three age cohorts(i.e. the middle-aged, the young old, the old-old). Data came from the first wave of Korean Social Life, Health and Aging Project (KSHAP) (N= 814). Findings showed 1) objective subjective isolation were significantly related with worse physical and mental health, interestingly, subjective social isolation was associated with mental health only, 2) pattern of association between social isolation and physical health varied by age cohorts. Specifically, compared to the middle-aged, the young old with higher objective social isolation exhibited lower level of physical health, while the old-old with higher subjective social isolation were likely to experience lower physical health. Based on the findings, we discussed implications and suggestions for future research and relevant policy/program development for ameliorating objective and subjective social isolation.
This study assumes that the smooth school life of adolescents from multicultural families is recognized as an important part of multicultural support policies and practices as a basis for realizing an integrated society, and system elements that are meaningful for their flexibility to adapt to school (individuals, families, schools) By empirically analyzing the effect of, we tried to bring out highly effective implications for the composition of a multidimensional practice system. Therefore, this study is a causal model in which self-identity (individual factor) and parental parenting attitude (family factor), which are important variables for each system level, are set as independent variables, and school support (school factor) consisting of teacher support and companion support is set as control variables. After collecting data through a questionnaire survey by interviews with 162 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi and Gangwon regions, the effect was analyzed through multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that school support has a very important static moderating effect in the positive (+) effect of adolescents' self-identity and parenting attitude on school adaptability. It was confirmed that the modulating effect is relatively more important.

Recently, the rapid proliferation, introduction, and application of the fourth industrial revolution technology has emerged as a trend in the construction market. Building Information Model (BIM) technology is a multidimensional information system that forms the basis of the fourth industrial revolution technology. The river sector utilizing this information-based system is also being actively reviewed, for example, the current measures for maintenance. In recent years, active research and current work should be done to reflect the need for river experts to introduce BIM into the river field. In addition, the development of tools and support software for establishing various information systems is essential for the activation of facility maintenance information systems reflecting advanced technology and to establish and operate management plans. A study on the maintenance of river facilities involves using existing drawings to build a three-dimensional (3D) information model, check the damage utilizing it, and inform it, and utilize it as the data for maintenance reinforcement. This study involved determining a method to build a river facility without the existing information system and using the property maintenance information with 3D modeling to provide a more effective and highly utilized management plan to check maintenance operations and manage damages.

This study focused on the heterogeneity of groups in single-person households, to identify how middle-aged single-person households is categorized by sub-groups and to come up with policy measures to overcome social exclusion by examining predictive factors for the type of social exclusion. Potential class analysis and multinomial logistic regression analysis were conducted on a total of 361 middle-aged single-person households using the 14th Korea Replication Panel data. The social exclusion index of these households was measured consisting of 10 six-dimensional indicators. The results showed that middle-aged single-person households had five different types: "non-exclusion"(29.6%), "health restriction"(14.3%), "interact restriction and middle-risk multiple-exclusion" (12.0%), "income and health exclusion"(14.1%), and "high-risk multiple-exclusion"(30.0%). More than 70% of the respondents experienced social exclusion, and most of the exclusion types were multiple exclusion. When examining the factors affecting each exclusion type, the 'subjective health level' was a common major predictor, and family interact, age and leisure activity satisfaction variables were significant predictors of the 'high-risk multiple exclusion type' and 'the interact restriction and middle-risk multiple-exclusion type'. Based on these results, a multidimensional intervention strategy is an effective measure to solve the social exclusion problem of middle-aged single-person households, and practical measures should be considered by strengthening 'health' and exchanges.
The purpose of the study was to examine Korean high school students' experience and perceptions of friendship and to inductively conceptualize friendship. The concept mapping method which is used to quantitatively analyze qualitative data was used to identify and visualize participants' experiences and perceptions of friendship. Through a brainstorming process, 93 statements were generated by boys and 100 statements were generated by girls, each set of which were sorted and categorized to generate concept maps. The final concept maps from both group equally had two dimensions: 'Practical-Conceptual' and 'Behavioral-Emotional'. The number of categories was equal to four, but there were some differences in the specifics of the statements in the category. Boys tended to conceptualize friendship as a source of happiness; a type of informal relationship through which they could share their everyday lives; and provide mutual care and engage in emotional bonding. In addition to those conceptualizations, girls also tended to conceptualize friendship as an affective alliance through which they displayed devotion to each other. Boys regarded the sympathy and bonding found in and the happiness produced by friendship as more important elements, whereas girls regarded the care and support found in and the informal nature of friendship as more important
Environmental risk assessment of living modified (LM) crops is essential for their cultivation. In this study, we cultivated β-carotene enhanced transgenic soybean (LM soybean) and non-LM soybean (Gwangan) in living modified organism (LMO) isolated fields, and investigated changes in the insect fauna using three types of collection methods for three years. In total, 331,483 individual insects and arachnids, representing 82 families in 14 orders, were captured during the study. Totals of 166,518 and 164,965 individual insects and arachnids were collected from LM soybean and Gwangan, respectively. Throughout the study, although there were differences between the investigation year, region, and methods, there were no significant differences between the population densities of insect pests, natural enemies, and other insects on LM soybean and non-LM soybean. Also, there were no statistically significant differences between varieties in the results of the species diversity analysis. The data on insect species population densities were subjected to multidimensional scaling (MDS), which did not distinguish between the two varieties, LM soybean and the non-LM soybean, in all cultivated fields. However, the results of the MDS analysis were completely divided into six groups based on the yearly survey areas. These results provided the insect diversity for an environmental risk assessment of LM soybean and suggested that the guideline could be useful to detect LM crops.
