A wideband continuous-time sigma delta modulator for wireless application is implemented in 130nm CMOS. The SNR for small input signal is improved using a proposed adaptive quantizer which can effectively scale the quantization level. The modulator comprises a second-order loop filter for low power consumption, 4-bit quantizer and DAC for low jitter sensitivity and high linearity. Designed circuit achieves peak SNR of 51.36B with 10MHz signal Bandwidth and 320MHz sampling frequency dissipating 30mW.
Russia recently began broadcasting the SDCM signal in order to provide SBAS service for the civil aviation in the Russian territory using its own geostationary satellites. The service coverage of the SDCM geostationary satellite, LUCH-5A and LUCH-5B, includes Korea peninsula, where the test signal from the pseudo random number (PRN) 140 is received. This paper shows that the position accuracy at the Chulwon GNSS site is improved to 0.8749 m (horizontal) and 0.9589 mm (vertical) by applying the received SDCM message to the RINEX data. Considering that the SDCM augments both GPS and GLONASS, the performance of multi-constellation SBAS was compared to that of GPS-only SBAS, and APV-I availability was improved by decreasing the protection level about 30 %. From the results, we can expect that the mult-constellation SBAS can contribute to the performance enhancement of the future KASS.

Steganalysis is a technique that aims to detect and recover data hidden by steganography. Steganalytic methods detect hidden data by analyzing visual and statistical distortions caused during data embedding. However, for recovering the hidden data, they need to know which steganographic methods the hidden data has been embedded by. Therefore, we propose a hierarchical convolutional neural network (CNN) structure that identifies a steganographic method applied to an input image through multi-level classification. We trained four base CNNs (each is a binary classifier that determines whether or not a steganographic method has been applied to an input image or which of two different steganographic methods has been applied to an input image) and connected them hierarchically. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hierarchical CNN structure can identify four different steganographic methods (LSB, PVD, WOW, and UNIWARD) with an accuracy of 79%.

Generators are the most complex and expensive single element in a power system. The generator protection relays should to minimize damage during fault states and must be designed for maximum reliability. A conventional CDR(Current Differential Relaying) technique based on DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) filter have the disadvantages that the time information can lead to loss in the process of converting the signal from the time domain to the frequency domain. A WT(Wavelet transform) and WT analysis is known that it is possible with the local analysis of the fault and transient signal. In this paper, to overcome the defects in the DFT process, an application of WT for fault detection of generator is presented. This paper describes an selection of mother Wavelet to detect faults of generator. Using collected data from the fault simulation with ATPdraw, we analyzed the several mother Wavelet through the course of MLD(multi-level decomposition) using MATLAB software. Finally, it can be seen that the proposed technique using detail coefficient of Daubechies level 2 which can be fault discriminant of generator.

The Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) plays a significant role in the fields of aviation and navigation: it corrects signal errors of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and provides integrity information to facilitate precise positioning. These SBAS systems have been adopted as international standards by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In recent SBAS system design, the Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) defined by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) must be followed. In October 2014, South Korea embarked on the development of a Korean GPS precision position correction system, referred to as Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS). The goal is to achieve APV-1 Standard of Service Level (SoL) service level and acquisition of CAT-1 test operating technology. The first satellite of KASS, KASS Prototype 1, was successfully launched from the Guiana Space Centre in South America on June 23, 2020. In December 2022 and June 2023, the first and second service signals of KASS were broadcasted, and full-scale KASS correction signal broadcasting is scheduled to start at the end of 2023. The aim of this study is to analyze the precision of both the GNSS system and KASS system by comparing them. KASS is also compared with Japan's Multi-functional Satellite Augmentation System (MSAS), which is available in Korea. The final objective of this work is to validate the usefulness of KASS correction navigation in the South Korean operational environment.

We investigate the optimization problem of transmit power control and MMSE Receiver filter for multi access points environment. Previous work showed that increasing the number of access points decreases the transmit power consumption. Accordingly, transmit power control algorithm was developed in such a way that the transmit power is minimized, while each terminal meets Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio Requirement. In this work, we further reduce the transmit power consumption by optimizing the transmit power level and the MMSE receiver filter together. We showed that the proposed joint optimization algorithm satisfies the necessary and sufficient conditions to be standard interference function, which guarantees convergence and minimum transmit power consumption. We observed that the proposed algorithm outperforms the algorithm which only optimizes the transmit power.

This paper introduces a refined opportunistic interference alignment (OIA) technique that uses minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection at the receivers in multiple-input multiple-output multi-cell uplink networks. In the OIA scheme under consideration, each user performs the optimal transmit beamforming and power control to minimize the level of interference generated to the other-cell base stations, as in the conventional energy-efficient OIA. The result showed that owing to the enhanced receiver structure, the OIA scheme shows much higher sum-rates than those of the conventional OIA with zero-forcing detection for all signal-to-noise ratio regions.

A multi-step optimum strategy for the selection of the locations and directions of strain gauges is proposed in this paper to capture at best the modal response of blade in a series of modes on fan blades. It is consist of three steps including two pass reduction step, genetic algorithm and fine optimization to find the locations-directions of strain gauges. The optimization is based upon the maximum signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of measured strain values with respect to the inherent system measurement noise, the mispositioning of the gauge in location and gauge failure. Optimal gauge positions for a fan blade is analyzed to prove the effectiveness of the multi-step optimum methodology and to investigate the effects of the considering parameters such as the mispositioning level, the probability of gauge failure, and the number of gauges on the optimal strain gauge position.

A Multicarrier system required a lower speed paralled-type of signal processing in contrast to a fast serial processing in a single carrier CDMA system. For the analysis we evaluate MC-CDMA system performance with that of a single-carrier CDMA system and a multi-carrier CDMA system based on the various jamming conditions. Also we studied to the capacity level against the threat environment through the performance comparison in commercial CDMA system and Limiting repeater system. as a result we found that M-CDMA system has a robustness to narrowband interference and multipath environments like as a Rayleigh fading.

The proposed Multi-level PDP sustain Driver is composed of the semiconductor devices with low voltage rating compared to those used in the prior circuit proposed by L. Wether, and it has two resonant periods during the charging (rising period) and discharging (falling period) the PDP in the sustaining voltage waveforms. In accordance with the change of timing phase$(T_{r1},\;T_{i1},\;T_{r2})$, the performance characteristics of a commercial PDP module has been carried out and compared the characteristic with the 42V6, made of LG Electronics co., Experimental results show that the performance characteristics of PDP module are greatly influenced by the variation of $T_{i1}\;and\;T_{r2}$. The variation of $T_{r1}$ do not influence much on the performances of PDP. With the conditions that $T_{r1}=60ns,\;T_{i1}=120ns,\;and\;T_{r2}=350ns$, we could get the performances listed as the luminance is increased $14.6\%$, the power consumptions is decreased $5.9\%$, the panel efficiency is increased $24.2\%$, module efficiency is increased $21.2\%$, compared to those shown in the commercial PDP module (42V6). Therefore, the proposed multi-level PDP sustain driver expected to be suitable to actual PDP module application.
